Classic Route 66 burger joint! Excellent example of what I imagine a mid century burger joint would have been like! Burger and fries were delicious. The service was excellent. All the employees seemed to be working efficiently and really enjoying themselves.

A local burger Icon. Service is slow because it is cook to order but just insures the good quality. The local secret is a «grilled» double cheeseburger. Super greasy but oh so good.

Old drive-in on US Route 66. Worth stopping at for a Ku-Ku burger and fries if they are open. Seems like we only go thru Miami on holiday weekends and they seem to close. Nice for the employees but not so good for us travellers. We ended up eating across the street at a much more expensive restaurant, Montana Mikes(review to follow) Really only wanted a burger for lunch. Have a back-up ready, if Ku-Ku is open, enjoy.

A good long-time burger shop. I had the Giant burger. Excellent home style burger. Mrs. had the regular burger and it was tiny but tasty. Onion rings were very good. We love their crushed ice. Service was acceptable but not exceptional. A good stop at a burger icon.

We enjoyed our visit today. Yes, it was a step back in time. I had the hot dog and my husband had the GIANT(aka. ¼ pound) burger. The burger is the thing to get. It was also cool to see the owner in the back working the grill. Do recommend. Will stop by again.

If you want to step back in time and enjoy a good old fashioned burger you have to check this place out! Fantastic burgers and fries! A great treat when traveling down old Route 66!

We got into town around 9:30pm last night and were specifically looking for a place on Route 66 to have dinner. Because of the reviews we decided to try out Waylans ku-ku burger and we were not disappointed. The food was made to order so the wait is longer than you would wait for a typical fast food but everything was hot and taste great. My boyfriend had the double giant burger, waffle fries and a strawberry flavor burst cone(I had a taste and it was delicious). I had a giant burger, fried mushrooms and a strawberry shake which was also very good. The girl working the drive thru was fabulous and very friendly. Great experience thank you!

We found our route 66 journey running through Miami Oklahoma and decided to skip the chains and standard tex mex sprinkling the land plentiful. The décor is nothing magic but it is a nice to see the pictures and see my father reminiscent. The max seating is less than 100 and lunch gets pretty packed. Plan ahead, it takes about 15 minutes to get your meal. The fries are pretty sublime. The burgers are juicy and worth the trip. I got a fish sandwich and it was a bit lacking. The prices are top notch and cheap. I suggest getting kids the cut car meals for optimal happiness! I fall for the nostalgic factor first and foremost. The food did not disappoint nor did the giant KuKu Bird this location is known for.

This place is just too much fun! Great atmosphere and food to die for. Classic diner food and brought back memories of the 60’s. A must stop for both Route 66 fans and anyone visiting Miami, OK.

I had to stop being it was the only one left. The western burger was good. The fried yellow squash was tasty! The banana malt was also delicious — worth the stop!

All the locals love this place. Great food. It’s been here for years, original owner is still cooking the burgers and is classic Route 66. Everything is made fresh so don’t expect to get it too quickly. It’s worth the wait. I love the Giant Cheeseburger or regular cheeseburger(toast the bun). They turn the top bun upside down and grill it. Yummy.

This place is great! I don’t know what it is about the deluxe cheeseburger, but it is awesome! I ate here yesterday and I had to go back the today for another one. It is a little slower than most fast food places, but the wait isn’t bad and it’s completely worth it. I had the fries, onion rings and waffle fries as well and have nothing bad to say about those either. Great stop, if you visit Miami, make sure to go here.

Classic burger place. Been in town forever. Friendly staff. Food doesn’t come out super fast depending on how busy it is. After you order they hand you a card with a number that is called when your food is ready. Some reviews complain about the thin burger patty but I kind of like it. The regular burger is pretty small but you can order the bigger deluxe burger if you want something bigger with everything on it. The buns are nice and toasted. The fries are perfect, the«in between» not too thick, not too thin fries. I like the regular ones better than the waffle. The pop comes with the crushed ice in a foam cup. If you don’t like a lot of ice you have to ask for«easy ice» because they put a lot in. I think pop is best with crushed ice in a foam cup so I guess it is a matter of preference. Apparently they charge for refills, I don’t normally get refills… Bottom line is that this is a great classic fast food joint. I give it 4 stars because I think it is a pretty great restaurant compared to other fast food burger options out there. I will stop by again next time I am in town for another burger.

Stopped in Miami for fuel and decided to grab a bite to eat at Waylan’s. They have some of *the best* diner style cheeseburgers I’ve had in a long, long time. The tator tots were perfect, with a great crisp and not a hint of soggy to them. Mozzarella sticks were typical of most places. Lots of crushed ice, but the ice tea was tasty. Friendly staff and the restaurant was clean. If I lived anywhere close to here, I’d be a regular, no doubt about it!

This is a authentic Route 66 stop with a small clean dining room and fairly large menu. We stopped in for an evening snack at the tail end of a road trip and sampled fried shrimp, mushrooms, and mozzarella sticks, so I feel ill equipped to really speak for their other offerings like burgers and ice cream or yogurt. Hopefully I’ll be back and revise this later after trying more of their food. I hate being handed a big fountain drink that is 95% densely packed ice with a trickle of cola at the bottom and that’s exactly what we received here, so I take off a full star for that. But the food was hot, tasty and delicious without an overly greasy fried taste — you could actually enjoy the flavors of our mushrooms and shrimp, so that gained big points with us. My husband and I live right off Route 66 nearby(in Missouri) but enjoyed feeling like total tourists here, they were so kind to us and when I showed interest in obtaining a Ku-Ku Burger ink pen they obliged & gave me a keychain fob, too!

The burger meat is really thin compared to what I prefer from a fast food place, the fries are really good and I’ve been told their fried mushrooms are the best in town. If anything its a cool place to stop if you are touring down route 66 other than that the sonic is probably a better place to eat if you want a burger with actual sizable meat.

OMG! I cannot believe I just waited literally 40 minutes in drive thru. The food is just okay. Did I mention 40 minutes waiting? I guess that is kind of my fault~should have left.

Pretty meh. I stopped in while I was in town because it was one of the higher rated places in Miami. Burger was ok. Meat on it was good but the onions were stacked ridiculously high and the tomatoes were garbage, not unlike most restaurants these days. Waffle fries that everyone else has bragged about were of the frozen bag variety. Also, this might be nitpicky, but 27 cents for a refill??? Get outta here with that noise.

Nice little burger ‘joint’ with a Route 66 theme. Counter service. Pork tenderloin sand which was OK and our guests said the same of their burgers. Shakes were good, fountain drinks were filled to the brim with ice and they charge for refills… Fried green tomatoes were great and the mozzarella sticks were good. Friendly, fast and polite staff welcome you and take good care of you while you visit. Very inexpensive.
