The Connor Group

I had the unfortunate experience of living in a Connor Group property. I have never come across a company that is more unethical, predatory, dishonest and underhanded as this disgraceful organization is. They push the grey area of the law as far as they can to their advantage, knowing that most of their residents lack the will and or resources to fight them. Once you are locked into a lease they send you bills up-​charging utilities, cable and internet and nickel and dime you charging management fees and CAM, among other items normally included in rent. Of course Connor Group considers these items as rent in the case of threatening eviction, unlike standard utilities which are protected by government regulation. By reselling utilities TCG is able to extort their residents for as much money as they can effectively steal from them. TCG views their residents as nothing more that someone to extract as much revenue as possible from… no matter how unethical the means to do this is.
TCG is also painfully aware and consciencious of their online «reputation». The truth hurts!!! I personally was offered a $ 100 gift card (and know many that were offered the same) to write a positive online review. You see, they don’t just offer this to anyone, they have the management team onsite at properties cherry pick the people who they have a good relationship with to offer this to. Also, a quick google search will reveal an expose done by the Columbus Dispatch exposing just how far TCG will go to silence their critics (they are suing a former tenant who had the gall to speak the truth about their practices on a website he created). They have even gone so far as to have many Unilocal reviews (mine included) pulled down.
My suggestion would be for any potential tenant, use the internet and do your research! The truth is out there and easy to find. If your property is any way associated with the Connor Group, find a different place to live… you will be happy you did!
