We were visiting in Gainesville when we read about the Corn Maze event at Coon Hollo Farm. What a fantastic trip we had! We happened to have our well mannered 10 year old dog in tow, and the owner kindly said it was okay to bring her on the farm. We had our 3 year old, sisters kids: 3 babies under 12 months, 10 year old, 13 years old &5 adults who came from Tampa & Crystal River to meet up at the farm. What a blast we all had! The farm is beautiful. Admission to the event was just $ 10 per adult(3& under were free). Unlike the one reviewer, I though the food was priced fine(and smelled great). I grabbed about 8 bottles of ice cold water & was surprised the total was $ 8… Coming from South Florida, I expected«event pricing» but $ 1 a drink was perfect for us. It was tough to drag the kids away as there was so much they enjoyed: the slide set up in the field, jumping on the huge hay stacks(they were about 30 bundled stacks secured together for kids to run back & forth on), the tire swing, feeding goats & bunnies(they left a bag of food open so kids could just reach in & grab to feed them) as well as riding the pony &/or horse(all included in admission). The kids all got a kick out of watching the goat jump on a small barn roof then up a tree. It was the highlight of our trip and we are looking forward to going back very soon.

What a great place to spend an afternoon outdoors enjoying fall in Florida. The $ 10 admission covers the maze, putt putt golf, a corn pit, hay ride, and several other entertainment activities. My kid had a blast playing for hours. The food is good(they have a barn/café) and plan on spending $ 10 – 15 on drinks, ice cream etc.

Have been here several times over the years. It’s a nice day excursion for a weekend with the family. The people are friendly, but prices have crept up almost to the point they’re competing with much better attractions not much farther away. Plan on dropping $ 20 per person once you’ve paid admission and a couple bottles of water and a hotdog. You could skimp and do it for $ 13. Several of the rides are free but some things cost extra, like pony rides, archery, etc. Florida is still HOT this time of year, so stay hydrated, and don’t let the kids get too far from you in the maze.

This is a fun place to go. They have a corn maze, hay ride and putt putt plus other things for the kids. A little pricy but otherwise good experience.

I’ve been to Coon Hollo twice: once on a regular weekend with my boyfriend, and then again during one of the special Christmas weekends. Admission prices are reasonable, and being from Los Angeles, walking around a farm isn’t something I’m used to doing every day. I love petting zoos as much as any kid, so I really enjoyed petting the goats and watching them play. My boyfriend and I also walked through the corn maze(pretty easy for adults) and played a few rounds of corn holing. I think Coon Hollo is definitely more for kids, in that most of the activities are kid-oriented, but we still had a good time. We posed for pictures, and bought some things from Nana’s Store, all of which were very yummy. We then went back for one Saturday night in December for«Christmas at Coon Hollo.» We brought in our own food to eat, and also posed for pictures with festive decorations in the backdrop. The outside was decorated with pretty lights, and I believe there was a Santa Claus there as well if I remember correctly. The first movie was a relatively new Mickey Mouse Christmas special which I had never seen, and the second was the original Miracle on 34th Street. In fact, my boyfriend and I came specifically to see Miracle. The films were shown on a big screen outdoors(it was a little chilly, but still nice), and patrons either brought blankets or lawn chairs. The resident dog was also making his rounds and decided to plop down on our blanket! Best of all, this event was free! All together, this was a warm and unique experience, and really got us in the Christmas spirit. I was disappointed that no details regarding this year’s «Christmas at Coon Hollo» were posted to their website.

Coon Hollo Farm is a family run farm. It has been in the same family for 5 generations. This is the first year that they opened their farm to the public and created a corn maze, had hayrides, a «farmyard» playground, and small pumpkin patch. I took my 2 year old son on Halloween. It was surprisingly not very busy that day but, apparently, that was not the norm. My son was too tired to explore much and just wanted to be held. So I decided to take him on the hayride. It was a nice ride out to a pasture where a herd of cows were grazing. The driver took us right into the middle of the herd and they swarmed us, knowing it meant food. Alex was scared by the cows, but I was impressed and enjoyed feeding the cows the feed they provided. I would say we were out there for at least 10 min before they took us back. Again I tried to get Alex to play, unsuccessfully. But we did take a short walk through the corn maze which he seemed to like because it was an easy path to follow. After that, he explored some tractors they had set up in the play area. I tried to get him interested in romping around in the hay play fort, but he wasn’t very interested. The farm offered another little ride which we got on and I think he liked it. I know I did. I’m such a kid at heart. We didn’t hang out long after that because Alex was just exhausted and so was I. I feel like it was a nice time shared with my son. It had potential to be much better if he had taken a nap that day and was well rested. I thought the pumpkin patch was small. The play area was really nice. They did offer a concession stand. One of my coworkers said the burgers were great and a good price. Sadly, I didn’t get a chance to taste them myself. Since this was their first year, I definitely see room for improvement. It definitely has potential to become something really great. It was definitely worth the $ 8 spent.
