The stuffed«Popeye» pizza was just OK. Crust was good and the spinach was excellent but we swore some of the cheese was american or some nasty processed cheese appropriate for macaroni. Would have been awesome if they would have simply used Mozzarella mixed with ricotta or cottage cheese and some garlic. Our son had a burger and loved it.

The pizza is good, I wouldn’t say exceptional. Price was right, staff was fantastic, deliver guy was wonderful.

We had a few pizzas delivered to Michigan city campground. Timely service and friendly delivery driver. The pizza was SO good. Both of the families in our group agreed it was delicious pizza. Reheated on the grill the next day was just as yummy. Will definitely order again next time we camp.

We just came from Chicago while on vacation, but didn’t get pizza while there. Glad we stumbled on this place. The pizza was one of the best I have had in a very long time. The sauce is delicious and the crust is perfect. I highly recommend seeking their pizza out!

Somebody stop me before I explode! I ordered a 15 inch Sausage Pepperoni and Mushroom Pizza. Once I started horking this stuff down, I couldn’t stop until I ate almost two thirds of the thing. Same excellent thin crust I remember, not as much cheese as last time, but no biggie. I am disgusted with myself for being such a pig… but it is soooo good.

The pizza was exceptional the first time we dined in(5 years ago). But the business has gone downhill ever since. A couple week ago, we were the only customers there. Pizza was just ok.

Good pizza. It’s a bit on the pricey side, but you do get a good sized pizza with plenty of toppings. People who work there are nice. It’s kid-friendly.

We ordered the family special — an extra large pizza. they divide it into quarters. The pizza is OK, nothing special. The pepperoni is ok but not plentiful. The cheese was so so! The veggie was the best of all.

Pizza is fresh, traditional topping flavorful and crisp. Strange to have to call the crust«full of flavor», but somehow it is. Friendly staff. Good for kids.

I grew up in Michigan City. That doesn’t come up with a whole lot of benefits other than the ability to lounge about the beach or fritter your time away at the outlet mall or casino. The greatest benefit — often unrealized, though — is the ability to eat some ridiculously good pizza. When I was a kid, I ate two things: pizza and fried chicken. My family stills teasing me about that even though my palate has definitely developed since then. However, I definitely appreciate good pizza and have high standards. Northern Indiana has access to great pizzerias. When I go back home to Michigan City, the options are Little Giant, Gelsosomo’s, and Albano’s. I think I prefer them in that order, but all three of them would easily be most cities’ best pizzeria. I travel extensively and have a hard time finding pizza that comes close. Even the second tier pizza places in M.C. like Roma’s turn out some really good pies. We just never go there because there are better places. While I may prefer Little Giant’s pizza to Gelsosomo’s(marginally), Little Giant doesn’t have a dining room. So, if you want to dine out somewhere, Little Giant is out of the running. Gelsosomo’s also has a more extensive menu with more toppings to choose from as well as pasta dishes and appetizers like fried ravioli. You just can’t go wrong at this place. You can even concoct some strange pies like a spinach and shrimp pizza with alfredo sauce. Yeah, I know, you probably wouldn’t order that, but maybe your girlfriend with very strange tastes might. That means she’s happy, and that means your happy. The downside? Sometimes service here is horrible… but that is sometimes what you get when your staff is comprised of 17 year old girls.

Pizza is great! Crust is perfect and toppings are fresh. Staff is friendly and the restaurant is clean. I’ve had pasta here as well and not as impressed as I am with the pizza!

I love the pizza at Gelsosomos! I don’t know much about anything else they have on the menu or even the service at their restaurant(as we often just get take-out), but their chicken barbeque pizza is the best I’ve had. I’ve looked for something comparable without luck. A very tasty pizza!

I’m a harsh pizza critic but Gelsosomos is a pretty solid option. They definately load up your pizzas with whatever toppings you’ve chosen. This was also one of the best veggie pizzas we’ve had. Not many good food options in the MC, but this is a good choice.

Michigan City is a convenient stopping point for me on the way to and from Chicago. No matter which direction I’m driving, my stomach seems to start grumbling right around exit 34B. The last time we stopped in Michigan City, we were on the hunt for some sort of non-chain. In a land of Texas Coral, Chili’s and IHOP, Gelsosomo’s Pizzeria, a local chain, seemed like it might offer something interesting. I was so hungry that my stomach seemed to be digesting itself, so we ordered some salad to start things off. Eh, it did the trick. It wasn’t wilted, but it was a pretty basic hunk of iceburg plus a couple of carrot slices and a tomato wedge. The pizza hit the spot, but I have the feeling it was more about my hunger than the quality of the actual pie. It tasted like really good frozen pizza, which was fine, but not really what I’d expect at a pizzeria. Our waitress was really sweet, and she gave us Dum Dum Pops will our bill, which brought back warm and fuzzy childhood memories. I might drop in to Gelsosomo’s on my next trip. Then again, if I could find another local non-chain option, I might try something else first.
