Coffman’s Snack Bar

This is one of those places that only people who either lived nearby or know somebody who has been there know about. Located near Martin State Airport in a surprisingly «hidden in plain view» location, I believe that the restaurant has been around since the 1940’s. Very informal, diner-​type restaurant that serves their whole menu all day long. Want a chili dog at 7AM? Yes, you can! Want pancakes and bacon at 5PM? I think you can!
The whole place consists of two rooms, the front counter/​kitchen and a back dining room that requires patrons to walk past the «rear» kitchen. Décor is quite dated and utilitarian, but it’s part of the charm.
My wife often visits here with co-​workers in the morning for chili dogs, while I enjoy the chili dogs, burgers, and most of the breakfast menu. I have never seen the place completely empty; in fact, it’s normally pretty busy when I have been there.
Pros: The whole menu is available all day, simple but good food (especially the chili dogs), very inexpensive and a good value for a quick bite to eat.
Cons: Parking in any other lot will end up in your car getting towed (not Coffman’s fault), $ 10 minimum for credit card purchases.
Highly recommended for a quick snack or just some simple but excellent blue collar food! One of my favorites!

This is a local gem in my area ! If your looking for a great home made breakfast this is the place to go ! My family goes here very often and we love it ! You gotta get the pancakes !

When I’m in the mood for a good hotdog this is the place! The standard is mustard, onions and chile sauce. Very good deal for $ 2 ea. While waiting I was looking at another patrons’ chipped beef and side order of hash browns. Looked amazing. Will have to stop back soon to try. The do take credit cards contrary to another review, but have a $ 10 minimum.

Chile was very good. hot dog and fries were very good too. The person I was with said their hamburger was delicious. They were very nice and good service.

I love this place! Couldn’t wait for a Coffmans hot dog after I gave birth. Their cream chipped beef was pretty good. Some of the women working there can be a bit rude, though.

Rude, disorganized service. Bad food. Reeked of cigarette smoke coming in from where the staff was smoking outside. Avoid eating here, unless you have no other options.

Came in and went to where you would think you would order but got yelled at by some older woman, I believe her name was Barbara. She was very rude, how are people supposed to know there was a line when everyone was already sitting. It was out first time in and our last time. That’s not how you speak to people. The young girl working was very nice, if it wasn’t for her I would have walked out.

Good place to go for dogs, burgers and fries. I would have gotten a chilli dog, but they were out when I was there. The burgers were pretty good. As for the service, I’ve seen the staff friendly, and I’ve seen them borderline rude. They were extremely nice to me, but I think they have a rather low threshold for bull.

Work right around the corner and we usually pick up hotdogs and fries atleast once a month for coworkers. They have cheese, chili, mustard and ketchup for hotdogs. Ive never tried anything else from their menu but ive heard that everything is pretty good. Be ready when you come, they only accept cash.

As far as small business goes this is a hole in the wall place that you just fall in love with upon entering the establishment. Every knows each other it seems like, the stories are amazing and the way the community sticks together is untouchable. The menu is a little limited but the heart and soul that goes into the food is like no other. Best breakfast you can find any morning of the week, well except Sundays. Kudos to this small business.
