I’m brand new to planting anything. I mean, I have bamboo and aloe, but those require little maintenance. I explained to Anthony, the extremely helpful and patient employee who works there, that I was taking a big leap and would be planting herbs and vegetables for the first time this year. They’ve got it all here: oregano, thyme, sage, mint, basil, dill, parsley, lavender, kale, squash, lettuce, strawberries, cubanelles, jalapenos and habaneros! I went pretty nuts when I saw those peppers, and asked Anthony to show me which planters I’d need to buy for grow them properly. They have soil, flowers, cacti, succulents, pots, tools, seeds– everything you need. And the staff there really takes the time to work with you. I even had to ask how much soil to put into a particular pot, what kind of soil to use for certain plants, the amount of sunlight they would need, how they would grow(wide, down, tall, etc), whether they could be brought inside for the winter, which plants I could put into a window box– I mean I’m a serious newbie and Anthony never got frustrated with me, in fact he seemed eager to help me get started! Totally different experience than going to the Home Depot, where no one has a smile, no one knows anything about plants, and the selection can be kind of «meh». In the end I bought two pots, 1 jalapeño plant, 1 habanero plant, two rosemary plants, and two cacti, all for $ 38. I am very happy :)
