This place is definitely my favorite restaurant to go to in Middleboro. The staff is always amazingly friendly, the owner obviously cares deeply about his restaurant, and the food is amazing! Their quesadillas are great, clam chowder is some of the best I’ve ever had, and the salmon salad is definitely worth it. You’d be hard pressed to find something on the menu that isn’t phenomenal. I recommend this place to anyone driving down to the Cape or stopping through Middleboro!

I used to love going to the Cabin. Loved the food. Loved the service. A couple of months back I saw one of the cooks reach into the garbage for an old ticket and then go back to making food. He was not wearing gloves. None of them wear gloves. We didn’t go back for a while. When we did we were asked where we had been. My wife and I explained what we saw and how it disturbed us. The owner never spoke to us, but a couple of waitresses did. We were not looking for anything more than some assurance that they would address this health code violation. Instead we were told how the ovens were hot enough to kill any germs so our concern was not warranted(not their exact words). We did not go back for a long time. You may be wondering why we would ever go back. There are not any decent restaurants in this area. In fact, most are worse than the Cabin. Actually, the food at the Cabin is very good, other than the whole gloveless garbage thing. We went back tonight. My wife and I had a very long day at work and wanted a couple of drinks and something delicious to eat. I do not like to sit at middle tables. I prefer booths and the staff at the Cabin knows this. Tonight they sat us in the middle. They were not busy. There were plenty of booths, but I was tired and chose not to make a fuss. I want to stare at this point that I am a generous tipper so the wait staff always loved waiting on us. We waited for 20 minutes to be waited on. Other people were sat and were waited on. We were ignored. My wife was not happy. Can you blame her? We were treated like A-holes. Now I can say that I will never go back to the Cabin, ever. F those jerks, every one of them.

We came here tonight for the first time, and our experience was fantastic! We had a great waitress who stayed on top of our drinks and food. Upon being seated, we were greeted by the owner and had the menu explained to us. Our waitress let us set the pace and the food was excellent with good portion sizes.

Great seafood and service. Moved to the area recently and this is becoming ‘our spot.’ Any seafood item we’ve had has been absolutely delicious. Salads were great as well and that corn bread… THAT corn bread is out of this world! Did have the pineapple sturdy and buffalo chicken wrap and weren’t fans but definitely try the fried oysters and any seafood platter. Caesar salad was great too! Love to see the owner is involved as he usually explains the specials as he seats you. Small town feel of the place for sure.

Cute little pizza place with good bar pizza. We usually get takeout and it’s always pretty good.

My family & were on a multi-state car trip. We were coming back from Cape Cod when a hellacious hail storm erupted. We pulled off the road at what appeared to be a log cabin/diner. Long story made short … the food here is fantastic. Totally blew away our expectations. Crispy light, fresh fried seafood. I’d never had belly clams before. My nephew had a gluten-free pizza from their brick oven. The Mahi special actually came with a good amount of fresh vegetables that weren’t overcooked. Priced right, great value But I’ve saved the best part for last. After we pahked the cah, we got to hear the waitresses tahk. The memory of those genuine New England accents is better than any souvenir.

The Cabin is your traditional Podunk affair. Friendly staff; the place everyone knows your face and name. This is the place to relive the ol’ glory days of Middleboro. –So easily recognizable that I’m afraid that no one has the the courage to say what needs to be said. I just ordered a Caesar wrap with fries. No chicken. Nothing entirely out of the ordinary. What I found that strange is that my order is basically naked. No dressing for the salad, not even on the side. Just lettuce inside a plain flour tortilla wrap. No ketchup for the fries, even though I was offered it. As I’ve spoken to the regulars of the Cabin. They’ve told me that they are quite stingy when it comes to completing a meal. No napkins, forks, knives, etc… It leaves for a messy and unsatisfactory meal. It could be assumed that, they are forgetful or they purposely reserve utensils, napkins and condiments. Either way, I say, nay.

Based on great online reviews we figured we would give it a try. The menu had a great selection and for a Saturday afternoon pretty busy. however very disappointed with the server. Felt very rushed and spoken down to by her. The only thing that prevents this review from being 2 stars is how good the food is. Hopefully this is a once off and the server was just having a bad day.

My husband, mother-in-law and I went to The Cabin on Saturday. First off i really liked the homey feel of the place. The seating was comfortable and the staff was pleasant. I ordered a pizza, my husband got the ribs and my mom in law got a burger. I wasn’t thrilled with the pizza. I ordered eggplant and artichoke on it and the eggplant came breaded which i don’t care for. But it wasn’t horrible… i just picked the eggplant off. My husbands ribs were fall off the bone delicious and the sweet potato fries were great as well. My mom in law loved her burger… it was cooked to perfection. Overall a very nice place… we will definitely return.

Small, quaint, cozy. In business since 1947. The new owner John has expanded the menu and greets you graciously. The staff are friendly and flexible. Unlike the previous owner, he will only sing after closing and after a few highballs. Our waitress Deborah was wonderful, and the slow cooked rack of ribs(smoked with dry rub and finished with bbq sauce — an occasional special) was moist and fell off the bone. Don’t miss the sautéed veg.

After leaving the cape today and heading home to Dighton. My husband Michael and I stopped for an early dinner at The Cabin on Rt 28 in Middleboro. As always, we both had an excellent meal. Feeling satisfied without feeling overly stuffed. We started our meal with Fried oysters. Lightly battered and lightly cooked. You won’t bit into one of these and asking yourself, «where’s the oyster«. Michael had the Captains combo. Fried clams and shrimp. Again, same lightly batter. He loves his seafood and once again, his meal was delicious. He loves onion rings also, and The Cabin makes them light and good. I decided to try something that I’ve never had before, Striped Bass with a caramelized onion sauce. The fish was jucie, tender and flaky. The sauce, that was under my fish, complements the Bass. My meal also came with, whipped sweet potatoes and Asparagus, lightly seasoned and cooked with a little oil. They were not over or under cooked. Just with some snap when I bite in to them. Our waitress was pleasant and very helpful when I had questions about, the taste of Striped Bass. If your ever in the area, or looking for a new place to try, I highly recommend going to The Cabin. There’s something for everyone on their menu. Looking forward to our next visit. Donna and Michael Barry

Delicious gluten free menu. You can get almost everything on the regular menu without gluten! They also had a delicious sangria tonight. Plus the owner seated us and came around later to check in on us. Friendly staff, good food, delicious gluten free menu… Excellent restaurant!

Huge gluten-free menu which is very nice. Let them know you want gluten-free and the owner comes over and explains he’s gluten-free and will tell you what everything is made with. We got the gluten-free Steak Caesar salad(complete with gluten free croutons and garlic bread) and the surf and turf. Everything was great.

Quickly becoming my favorite restaurant in the area. Simple menu with very good pub/American grub style food but… The specials are extraordinary, something you’d see in a high end Boston restaurant. Combined with drink specials the daily specials are worth trying. Prices are very fair. The only con is the restaurant is on the smaller side and as more people discover how well the new owner has done with the menu it is harder to get in on weekend nights. I would recommend to everyone.

I can’t quite figure out why my parents frequent this place. Is isn’t bad… I don’t have anything really negative to say, but it’s just mediocre. The service is usually great, though. There’s an elderly man who works as a bus boy who often will sing to the dining room guests. Cute, but if you’re not expecting it it’s a little weird. The food is pretty bland and boring, but there is one pizza that I just love: The Trailblazer. Bottom line: It’s a small, down home family spot where you’d take your grandparents for an early dinner.
