This museum was a disappointment. It only contained a small collection of artwork, mostly fox hunting scenes. The works were fine, but I saw and read everything in 20 minutes. Definitely not worth $ 10. I wish they had more artwork related to fishing and hunting. The museum is free the last Sunday of the month, but don’t pay to go – especially not $ 10.

Go here for a lovely day trip from DC area. As of now they have a gem of a art show by Alfred Munnings the painter of all things horse from 1904 to 1940’s. it includes information on his personal life as well as why you see the same ponies, people and horses in various paintings-especially see the striking modern portrait of his second wife Violet. Girls who love animals would love this collection.

Great! Big house like Bruce Wayne’s Manor. In the pretty country town of MIddleburg. A totally free library with 24,000 or so books on horses and fishing. Lots of nooks for reading. I could hole up here for a whole day and then go get a pint at one of the local gorgeously historic establishments. So peaceful! P. S. Free but donations gladly accepted.
