Not impressed at all! Both the beer and service left much to be desired. We were only informed after being served our flight that they were out of three of the beers that were on the flight menu as you do not chose your flight. We would have preferred to change our order but our waiter did not give us the opportunity to do so before leaving. With so many other great breweries with welcoming environments in the area, we will not be revisiting Otter Creek.

Not my favorite beer, but it is a fun stop and the snacks and lunch aren’t bad.

They have only a pre-set sample menu, and no substituting. Since I knew I would not like half of the beers on pre-set list, I left. Too bad since some things looked interesting. I received a response saying sorry but this is what we are doing. Well, thanks for the message, but it is not helpful.

Wonderful beer and food, a must see if you are taking a tour of the beers Vermont has to offer. Their seasonals are truly delicious.

This is a fun place to hang out for some tasty brews and eats in a cool little college town. I was surprised that there were not more college students there, but maybe it was finals week.

They have a good tasting room and very low prices, but I didn’t like the beer. I tried a flight and found that they don’t allow customers to choose which ones are included, which is something I’ve never encountered before. I don’t think it was just me, either. I was with someone who always gets a few beers, but here he was done after the first. They had a good cheese list, I should have tried that.

Great brewery to stop at. Otter Creek, Wolavers, and The Shed all available. The tasting flight is very generous for what they charge, and more than enough beer to have with lunch. The staff is very attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. The food is fantastic. No tours, but large windows so you can look in at the production facility. Many look the same, so it isn’t really important unless there is something really interesting going on. Oh yeah, and the beer is really good. Definitely a must stop on the Vermont beer tour.

This place has incredible food, beer and staff! We came from West Chester, PA, on route to visit some friends for the weekend. I was excited to go as I’m a VW bus guy. We came with our dog, didn’t want to leave him in our 82 Westy while we grabbed a quick bite, so I asked our server if it would be ok to tie him up in the shade. No problem, we did, gave him water and when he finished it the cook went out and gave him more water. Great Brussels sprouts, nachos and pretzels!

Wish it stayed open later! Great Wolaver, Shed and Otter Creek brews on tap. I don’t think they do tours but you can see plenty through the windows. Always a new pilot brew on tap they are trying out. Daily food specials. Cheese plates and sample flights available. Interesting food choices. This place is worth it! Check it out!

I came to OCB about a month ago as it was the last brewery that I visited on my beercation tour of the green mountain state. For those of you who don’t know, Otter Creek Brewing is the umbrella for it’s own beers as well as The Shed and Wolaver’s. I arrived on a Sunday just as they were opening and sat at the bar. Within 30 minutes this place was packed! The bartender was very friendly and helpful and talked with me about the beer as well as the history of the three breweries. Now I have never been a huge fan of Otter Creek’s beers, so I can’t say that anything stood out for me. The same goes for the Shed, but then again they had the least amount of beers on tap. The star of the show was Wolaver’s. Their wildflower wheat and oatmeal stout are not to be missed and in season, their pumpkin beer is kick ass. I would have liked to take a brewery tour but was told that they no longer give tours as it’s too much of a liability. I didn’t try any of their food but it did look very good. I suppose the reason for my three star rating is the overall vibe of OCB in that it was very corporate feeling. While traversing VT, I found myself at about half a dozen other breweries/pubs, all of which were about as local as can be. OCB wasn’t a bad brewery but ended up being the least favorite of my trip as I found most of the beers to be mediocre. Be sure to pay them a visit, if you happen to find yourself in the area. Otherwise, I wouldn’t recommend going out of your way.

Traveled all the way from MI and had to check out a place that had beer with a Berner(we have one). We were not disappointed(except the speeding ticket from Tirt, on the way here). The beer is fantastic and the food is seriously delish. We had cherry peppers(I want 10 more), In a Jam crostinis, IPA beef nachos(my husband is currently eating them off my plate) and wings. Everything is wonderful and the staff is amazing. I’m sad I don’t live close by and that’s my only complaint. Z

Some of the beers that they make at otter creek are great, particularly the fresh slice which is a summer seasonal. However, the prices are high for a brewery tasting and the service is rather poor. Don’t get the food, it’s not worth it. Do go for firkin Friday’s, where they have specialty batches that you can taste

We made Otter Creek our third stop on the Middlebury tasting tour and I think it was my favorite. Our party of six was too big for any of the remaining tables but we sat at the bar and enjoyed excellent service. I like the direction they are taking with their latest beers toward more hoppy beers, the copper ale will be missed though. I’d also endorse the nachos.

This is a fun stop when you are in Middlebury. They have a large menu of their beers available in tasting sizes as well as full pints. They also have a small food menu which is quite great. It is fun to sample some local brews, so I enjoyed this place.

Went there for the first time with a friend for lunch. Got the special(Buffalo Chicken Mac & Cheese) and my friend a Panini, and a limited series Russian Imperial Stout and HOLYWOW. It was all VERY delicious! When I was served my meal I was a bit disappointed, the portion looked small but boy was I fulled. it was quite a rich meal and VERY filling. Friendly waiter and nice atmosphere. Will definitely be back.

So, I was in Vermont. Now I’m back home. Time to catch up on some reviews. There were many brewery stops on this trip. Otter Creek was number one as the plan was to meet a few of Sue’s old friends here. Keep in mind that Otter Creek now serves food. I’m not exactly sure how long they have been doing this, but it probably hasn’t been too long. Coming from a place where if you serve alcohol you have to serve some kind of food, coming here wasn’t any different for us. The bar area was a nice space. Not too big, but certainly not too small. Aside from bar seating there were high tables with high chairs. Along the back wall there were windows that overlooked the actually brewery. There wasn’t any brewing going on while we were here so we didn’t really give it much of a look. Started out with the Otter Creek Oktoberfest and made my way into the Wolaver’s(the organic side of Otter Creek) Brown to finish up. Both were very good(I had had these beers before when I lived in this part of the country) after a long trip across country. The food was kind of hit or miss at our table. I quickly got an order of their beer pretzels($ 5). Two medium sized and warm pretzels came out with a cup of maple mustard dipping sauce. I was really hungry as we had just traveled across country and only had some terrible breakfast at O’Hare in Chicago. The pretzels definitely hit the spot. For actual lunch I had a panini that had bacon, cheddar and apples in it($ 8). This sandwich came with a side of sea salted potato chips. Sue ended up getting a turkey sandwich but she said it was really dry and didn’t end up finishing it. Sandwiches pretty much dominate the menu here. I believe there were some soups and salads as well. A good first stop.

We have been big fans of Otter Creek and Wolaver’s beer for a while. I was thrilled when they recently began brewing The Shed’s Mountain Ale! That is one of my favorite beers and they bought the recipe and hired the brewer after The Shed brew-pub in Stowe closed. While I’m sad that The Shed closed because they had awesome food, I am happy I can now buy Mountain Ale in Rhode Island! What a treat it was to be able to stop at the brewery, see where the magic happens and get lunch! I got the beer sampler and was happy to have an under-aged college student with me to drive home! Their beer is great, but has a high alcohol content and this Unilocaler doesn’t drive under the influence! The brewers on staff came out and talked to us during a break. It’s a great little stop along western Vermont! You should go(just bring a designated driver)!
