This little seasonal farm market claims to offer«the best of local» and they definitely deliver, including treats & wares from beyond our green-mountain-riddled-borders! They have their own jams, pickled/jarred veggies, marinara sauce etc as well as fresh fruit and veggies(the South Carolina Peaches were incredibly juicy & sweet). When the corn is ripe for the picking, Red Clover one of the best places to get it(both because of the price AND the quality!!). They also(of course) have VT maple syrup & local cheeses(including a VT maple chevre which is D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S). On top of all this, they have regular deliveries of some delicious rustic loaves of bread. But one thing that I know I’ll find each time I go in, is some of the best fudge I’ve had! There are traditional flavors as well as some creative ones! I’d list my favorite, but I haven’t tried them all, and there are few that I’d pass up. The owners are fantastic and have have done an excellent job at creating an old-timey, cozy market. There are rockers you can hang out on in the front(eating some fudge of course!) or just ‘chew the fat’ inside with one of the very kind owners Beth and/or Earl! They also have some neat, non-food related, unique gifts that vary depending on the time of year– sometimes they have some awesome rustic furniture, snowman kits(not the plastic, poorly made type), classic red wagons, ‘shampoo bars’(which I haven’t tried, but seem interesting) and much much more! When we stopped in last winter, they had a gift basket workshop set up in the back and the owner said that she sends them all over the US(I’m sure they also offer this throughout their open season). I have filed this gift box idea in the back of my brain for future gift ideas because who doesn’t love the taste & quality that Vermont has to offer! If you are in, or heading through, Addison County this little gem in in the southern part of Middlebury(on Rt 7) is WELLWORTH the stop. You can get a nice snack, supplement some of your grocery shopping or do some creative gift shopping there(or all of the above!). In short, if the above review hasn’t convinced you how big of a fan I am, RUN, don’t walk to this great spot for a fun Vermont experience.
