I’m not a noodle fan but I love that this place gives you the option of choosing several different types of noodles. The portion sizes are pretty good for the value. I’ve had their pad Thai twice and it’s pretty good. Not the absolute best but great for Middletown. I’d go back. Don’t forget to try their bubble teas. It’s better than water.

Normally when I eat there, I get a hot dish. They’re hot food is tasty and affordable. My friend loves their bubble tea. Today, I decided to try their sushi. It was bland. They didn’t have teriyaki sauce. The spicy mayo was warm. The avocado in the roll looked OK… The wasabi had a dark streak on top and the ginger looked a little brown on top.(See photos.). I recommend this place for hot food NOTFORSUSHI.

I frequently eat at Anoho. I really enjoy all of my meals. The sushi rolls are refreshing and the noodles are great. The wait staff isn’t over the top friendly but I don’t mind. I recommend this place for an informal lunch or dinner. Can’t beat the prices!

The absolute worst !!! My wife ordered 3 Pork-chop Udon soups and 3 Pancakes that totaled $ 45. I have no problem paying good money for good food, this was not. The soup had plain thinly sliced dry roast pork an unseasoned broth that could not be identified(dish water perhaps) rubbery mass produced noodles a hard boiled egg(I have never seen a hard boiled egg in Udon, raw yes) and«Veg-All» canned veggies. The ones you had in elementary school. I am in this business and know vegetables are not cheap but come on Veg-All. I have no idea how they are still open.

The inside of the restaurant was clean and inviting, though I can’t comment on the service because I got takeout. My beef with szechuan sauce over rice noodles was just okay – I asked for it extra spicy but it was still pretty bland. The noodles were pretty mushy too, like they were a little overcooked. My husband liked his pad thai flavored noodles and said they were much more flavorful than my dish. Everyone I encountered was very nice. I’d give them another try on the hopes they were just having an off night.

I first went to Anoho two years ago. It’s in a great location right on Main Street and within walking distance from where I live. The restaurant inside is small, but clean. Every time I have visited, we have gotten seated and attended to right away. We did have one«lower than average» experience here recently however they were very busy and seemed short staffed(only one waitress with the«bartender» helping out). Every other experience was very good. Their food is very reasonably priced. Everything is is made to order and has been made very quickly for both dine in and take out. I have tried a lot of their appetizers as well as entrees and can say that I have loved everything with the exception of their Steamed Roast Pork Buns, which we personally found too doughy and were not a fan of the way the pork was prepared. They also serve Bubble Tea which is absolutely delicious. I have not had Bubble Tea elsewhere, but it is very delicious here and a lot of people tell me Anoho has some of the best around the area. My only complaint would be that they are not open on Tuesdays(an odd day to be closed), but hey, you can’t win them all. Overall, if you like Asian noodle houses and Bubble Tea and want good food at a reasonable price, I would highly recommend Anoho.

I ate here for the vegan appetizers but I went with 4 friends that eat meat. I had miso soup Thai spring rolls and vegan chicken appetizer. I didn’t want to eat heavy because we were going dancing. My food was fine of course but the vegan chicken could use sauce to dip it in or it gets to be a chewy cracker, I used all the sauce I had from my spring rolls. The meat lover beside me said it was the best General Taos she had ever had, it was so fresh she said, big chunks of chicken. Parking is hard to get out front on a Saturday night.

Ordered take out from here. Awesome sushi, best Boston rolls I have ever had. My dining companions enjoyed spicy salmon, spicy tuna and shrimp tempura. My Boston roll was great, but I couldn’t tell if it was imitation crab or shrimp. Tasted good though & I loved how it came with cucumber and avocado. Other places I have seen, it’s just lettuce. I would like to go back and try some more dishes!

Yummy warm noodles on a cold day. Ask for the chive roll appetizer which is quite yummy and authentic Singapore breakfast fare. Flaky crust filled with savory mushroom, sautéed green onion, rice noodle and egg. I could have eaten two orders instead of a meal. I dined with a friend who was home sick for Singapore, so we got the«build your own» noodle stir fries, spicy Szechuan sauce, veggies and chicken, and thick chewey noodles. Far less sweet and salty than most Chinese food, but still«Americanized» I thought it needed more spice(even after ordering it spicy) so I added hot sauce which I requested. Lovely service, great décor, smiling grandpas in the back. Taste the love.

We love anoho! Their vegan beef and chicken are both amazing! I love the pad thai. We go there all the time and they treat us well! Quality service and quality food-family owned.

* Purer-Chinese Than Other Places. 1,000 Noodle Options/Dishes * Right, this is a noodles house. My friends and I were looking forward to having dinner here. We love Noodles & Co., so yes, we DO love noodles. Anoho gives you your choice of types of noodles. ‘How great is this?!’ I thought. People really from China, determined to offer genuine Chinese noodles in a variety of types and styles! Our experience started with soup. It looked good. Looked natural and additive-free. Problem is, none of the 3 of us thought it tasted good. On to the appetizers. I didn’t care for any of them, though my friends did. Finally, the entres. Noodles! Problem is, again, I found the noodles lacking… something. A bit greasy perhaps. No texture. They were not bad, but were clearly not as good as Noodles & Company’s offerings and quality. And I say that as a person who ALWAYS prefers single establishments over chains.(Not that Noodles & Co is much of a chain!) I will say that the vegetables themselves that accompanied the noodles were quite good. Fresh, well-seasoned, well-prepared and well-presented. * Phil

After reading some of the reviews here I wanted to add my opinion to the mix. First off this is an Asian Noodle House, to come here and order regular asian dishes such as general taos is just ridiculous. It would be like going to a steak house and ordering chicken. Will the food be ok? you bet, will it be as good as their steak no way. So do not judge a noodle house on dishes that are not noodle based. that being said… I gave them four out of 5 stars because the food is good, and most of the time the service is good. It does often take a while to get someone’s attention when you need something especially if you go during slow times. the one thing I do miss is the sauce trays they use to provide when they first opened, if you ordered one of their noodle soup dishes. They use to bring it out with a tray of sauces as well as some sprouts and a lime slice or two. They do not seem to do this anymore… My fav soup is the Old Fashion Chinese noodle soup. the flavor is great and the vegetables although cooked are always still crisp and tasty unlike allot of places where the vegetables become mushy and unappetizing. The bubble teas are also fantastic!, One of the highlights of my trip, Super sweet and yummy, I love the watermelon one or the apple one, although plenty of my friends say they are to sweet, so possibly you might not like them if you do not like lots of sugar. But I think they are great.

I have mixed feelings on this place. My dining partner’s vegan General Tso’s chicken was pretty good, if a little sweet. OTOH, my Singapore rice noodles were just bad. Bland and over-sauced, and only slightly improved by adding a lot of salt. I’ve had this dish at tons of places, and at heart it’s a pretty basic stir fry with curry powder, so I’m not sure how a «noodle house» can screw it up, but here we are. Probably won’t go back.

Anoho is a nice place to good. the food is good and the price not too high. yeah, they are the kinda American style Asian food, but they are generally good. my favorite entrée is the boneless grilled duck with X. O sauce =) also, try the bubble tea here. it’s hard to find bubble tea in Middletown.

Just had takeout from there for lunch and I’m sad to say that I wasn’t thrilled. I ordered the ginger beef lunch special with brown rice and miso soup. The sauce on the ginger beef was very heavy and there were only a few pieces of ginger thrown in so it didn’t taste like ginger at all really. The miso soup was tasty but they were very skimpy on the miso. This will not be a regular lunch spot for me.

Had Anoho delivered. Udon noodles, a seafood udon dish, chive pancakes, and pork buns. As an addict of fried udon noodles I was extremely excited. However, after 45 minutes of anxiousness it arrived and all of it was tasteless and entirely unappealing, we took a few bites and disposed of the food.

I’ve thought about visiting Anoho many times, but an obstacle lay between us. In the normal way of things, I’m not that fond of noodles. It’s due to a sad lack of character, I’m sure. But when my daughter wanted to go, I’m nothing if not biddable, so I hope that makes up for it. We were definitely there on a slow night. There were only a couple other parties there, and at one point our waitress actually stepped out to run a quick errand for the other staff(who served us very nicely while she was gone). When she came back I did have to ask her if it was something I said, and she laughed. We started by sharing a serving of shumai, because it’s a favorite dish of mine and a nice test of the kitchen. It was served in the steamer itself, which was promising, and the dumplings simply melted in the mouth. Very nice indeed. When ordering a noodle dish at Anoho, you select your base or sauce, your main meat or vegetable, and your noodle. We both selected pad thai with chicken, varying only with the noodle: my daughter went with their very thin rice noodles, and I chose the chao fun noodle, a wide rice noodle. We both really enjoyed the pad thai base, which is flavorful and subtle. It’s not quite so overwhelmingly sharp as some I’ve had. The dining room is clean, simple, stylish, and pleasant. I like it.

Another restaurant on Main Street! Middletown is really becoming a food destination it seems, and Anoho is another great option with some unique menu items and very distinct flavors. Not your average chinese or japanese restaurant. We went on opening night, food and service was very good — especially for a first night. We ordered the vegetable bean curd soup for two — nice, light start, clear broth and a great deal for $ 4.50. Scallion pancake was very good, not like other scallion pancakes in town(maybe a touch undercooked this time). general tso bean curd was very good, probably one of the better fried bean curds(tofu) like this i have had in a long time — nice thick sweet sticky sauce, crispy green broccoli — all together good. The sauteed noodles we had were vegetable udon with the singapore curry. the curry was nice and spicy, but not too crazy. Overall the food at Anoho was impressive and we will definitely be coming back(look at the options — 5 kinds of noodles, 5 sauces, 5 proteins. thats a lot of possibilities just in the sauteed noodles!) 4 Stars on opening night. maybe 5 stars soon!
