Steadily downhill lately. Last two times I have eaten there my order has been wrong and the sub has been anemic, on my most recent trip someone came back in because they had the wrong order but the correct ticket in their bag and the employee was arguing with them that they must have ordered wrong. Portions keep getting smaller and now they are weighing everything as they make it down to the smallest little piece, watched an employee rip a piece of meat in half to meet the weight. Quiznos did that and they’re mostly out of business now. No one wants to pay $ 3-$ 4 more than subway for a subway sized sub. Yeah it tastes better but not enough to justify the price difference. Problems seem to be limited to this particular franchise which makes me wonder if they are struggling financially as that’s usually when you see places tighten the belt and get chincy. Eden Square and silverside rd are the same old Capriotti’s you love.

Worst in Middletown. I have been here 3 times. They have not gotten my order fight yet. I don’t care if they are 2 minutes from my house. I will drive 10 minutes to get what I order. The worst hands down… I will never go back…

Ducked in with Cousin Karen to grab some sammies on the fly and it was great, here’s why: * She bought, SCORE! * Turkey Sub Rocked The turkey is not only«off the bone» and therefor not some processed crap, but it is also a Butterball«all natural» product. I found it to be delicious, and quite possibly one of the best Turkey Subs I’ve ever had from a restaurant. Good job. I will have to duck in and try something else and will update those interested about that, as well as a sense of cost. Good stuff, Cabeza OUT!

We had the worst experience who ever is working at the front is completely inept. When we ordered our food he insisted that you don’t make salads well the menu says something different there are salads listed as menu items. Then he forgot one of our sandwiches so we had to come back in. He never read the order back so I guess I should have known he wasn’t writing it down. Plus when we were paying he gave my sister back change when she paid wih a credit card! He seemed completely lazy and the girls that were working and struggling to clean he didn’t lift a finger looked like he was high or something. Really turned us off from ever ordering there again, its a shame because Capriotti’s used to be good I’ll just go to another store where I know they’ll be reliable. This was ridiculous.

Capriottis made a deliciously tasting homemade roast beef sub with provolone and all the fixin’s. The difference between roast beef homemade and factory processed is enormous. I don’t know how they did it but the sub was satisfying to the last bite. We sat inside at one of their two tables but I guess most people just take out.

UPDATE: We still get sandwiches here, of course(we live in Middletown, this is our only close Capriotti’s), but this particular store in the chain is STILL frequently prone to running out of rolls. At this point, I have to wonder if it’s a marketing strategy, since it happens so often. Like, «Order early or you might not be able to!» or something? I’m not sure. All I know is they still run out of rolls on a regular basis and have to turn customers away, which strikes me as terrible management.

The first time I tried Capriotti’s I knew nothing about it — which was why I probably had an underwhelming experience. I had no idea that what you’re supposed to get there is the turkey! After reading an article in the local paper about them I went back and got the Bobbie, which is a turkey sandwich(shaved fresh from the bird — not processed crap), stuffing, and cranberry all on a delicious roll. I am ADDICTED! I loved it. If you love turkey, you have to get a turkey sandwich at Capriotti’s. I had an Italian the first time I went there and it was just okay. See my review of Immediatos for what I think of that sub shop! in comparison. I will also add if you don’t know about Capriotti’s ask them about their specialty sandwiches because the signs in this local store don’t tell you what they are whatsoever. Also, a large sub is HUGE and can definitely feed 3 – 4 people.

Capriotti’s is getting too big. For the best in Middletown go to Immeditao’s on Main Street. LUVIT and really good folks work there.
