I haven’t been to the bakery but I have had their carrot cake they supply to Illiano’s pizza. It is the best carrot cake on earth! Can’t wait to stop at the bakery and try some of their other items!

I was training for a week right next to this place and ate here almost every day. I tried a turkey panini, and the breakfast sandwiches. The food is really yummy. I love that they use real fried eggs in their breakfast sandwiches. The selection of cupcakes and sweets was impressive and they looked delish but I didn’t end up trying anything! The décor and overall functionality of their space needs a little work. For example; you get a plate when you eat in but there’s no where to put it once you’re done eating so I felt a little awkward asking what to do with it! The staff was friendly and accommodating. I felt great about giving them my business all week!

My new go to place in middletown for bagels, breakfast sandwiches, and pastry! Comparing this place to competitors on main street, primarily brew Bakers I notice the following… Better service Incredible selection Bagels that they actually put cream cheese on Cost! Bbakers is like $ 7 now for a breakfast sandwich. The best thing I’ve eaten here yet is their cheese danish. These are better than first and last bakery cheese danishes which is really saying something. My new spot, thank you!

The cupcakes here are a decent cupcakes… I would eat them again if they were sitting around for consumption, but I would not go seeking these out. The frosting is very sugary and too heavy to leave you wanting more. The cake itself tends to be dense — a sign of a true from scratch cake made with butter and love, but coupled with the heavy sugary frosting, it just becomes too much to digest. The flavors aren’t necessarily unique either, just your standard bakery choices. Now the real stand out here is the croissant! Fusion makes some of the tastiest, flakiest and most buttery croissants I have ever had the pleasure of putting in my mouth! I suppose this makes up for the fact that the cupcakes and other baked goods are just okay… all I know is I will continue coming here for solely for the croissants… and you should too!

I ordered a bagel with cream cheese. It was so freshly delicious and my coffee was amazing. You can smell the oven cooking with all the fresh baked goodies in the back. I will be back soon for some fresh baked cinnamon buns

I LOVE cake. I love frosting even more. Fusion bakery has the best frosting I’ve ever had. What I love about fusion bakery is not only are the cakes beautiful and well design but they taste fantastic. I learned this when looking for wedding cakes that this is extremely rare to find a bakery who can bake a cake that tastes and looks good. This bakery offers both, they are rare gem in Middletown. A must goto!! r” I ordered a cake for my son’s birthday it was so good and it was a SpongeBob cake and everyone loved it. Can’t wait to get my birthday cake in a few months

While the vegan cupcakes I ordered were delicious from Fusion bakery, the service was appalling at the very least. From the moment I walked in the store, the women«helping» me was incredibly rude and abrasive. She continued to aggressively verbally attack me about a minor miscommunication with my order… so unprofessional and frankly just mean! I am almost sad that I will not be returning to Fusion.

I absolutely love this bakery. Their bars(magic bar, fruit bars, etc.) are delicious and if you’re lucky enough to be there when they have sweet potato bars, you have to try one! The bars have a layer of dark chocolate that compliments the sweet potato perfectly, while not being overly sweet. They usually have a few gluten-free options, including the flourless chocolate cake, which is amazing! The atmosphere is quaint, parking is easy(& free for the first hour in the lot behind the store) & the staff are super nice. I highly recommend this place!

I rushed into Fusion on the very last day before my Groupon expired. You could tell by the attitude of the woman behind the counter that I must not have been the only Groupon scrambler. My excitement was met with a very terse, «You can choose from any of the ones that are $ 2.50.» There was a selection of five or six types, half of which were oddball raspberry something or other concoctions. If you like raspberry, you would have been psyched. I chose two of each of the following: red velvet, chocolate with chocolate frosting, and Elvis. I don’t like cream cheese frosting, but Chris really enjoyed his two red velvets. The chocolate cupcakes were good, but the cake was too light and fluffy for the amount of heavy chocolate frosting atop it. Don’t get me wrong, both the cake and the frosting were very good, but the cake either needed a lighter frosting or less of the one it had, or the frosting needed a much more dense cake to support it. That brings me to the Elvis cupcake. In my opinion, the Elvis cupcake is genius. It is essentially a banana bread cake with a peanut butter frosting. The cake was a very dense, moist banana bread, and was an excellent match for the decadent peanut butter frosting. The flavor combination was perfect! I will most likely return to Fusion for this cupcake alone, and hope that they have some new concoctions in the case when I visit.

Good cupcakes, but the red velvet was not a favorite. I love cupcakes. They are the perfect size and they are easy to eat(although I always eat mine with a fork). After moving away our favorite cupcakery(cupcake bakery), my husband and I have been trying the various cupcake places. Nora’s cupcakes were good(I’ll write a review for them next time we go), but we wanted to try others. After buying a Groupon for this place, we were very excited and Unilocal reviews were promising. I forget all the ones we got but some were, chocolate with peanut butter frosting(my favorite), strawberry, red velvet, and vanilla with coconut frosting(a close 2nd to being my favorite). We were told since the cupcakes were made with real butter to refrigerate them and leave them out for 20 min before eating. They tasted amazing, but it was hard to wait those 20 minutes! One of my other cupcakes(not in the ones I listed) tasted a little stale which was disappointing. The main«issue» was the red velvet cupcake. My husband likes to call himself a red velvet connoisseur. He prefers a rich red velvet who’s taste is but by a decadent butter cream frosting. While the red velvet was good, the frosting was lacking and he said it was closer to a cream cheese frosting which he hates. So if you are picky about your frosting, maybe ask them about the flavors. All-in-all, very yummy and the employees are nice too.

I’ve been informed by some of the Unilocal faithful that recent visits have been lackluster, so I ventured back to the new location at Riverview center to see for myself. I walked out with some sort of lemon cupcake that wasn’t too sweet, but did have a weird flavor that I couldn’t put my finger on. The chocolate cupcake that I got was dry as a desert. Milk please! I wonder if the bigger space has brought too much business, or if things are falling apart.

This was our first visit to the new premises which are much larger than at the former location though several feet removed from the heavy pedestrian traffic on Main Street. There is now several tables though only one was occupied during our visit. We had an expiring $ 15 SaveNowCt certificate. The selection was slim excluding some pedestrian sounding cupcakes so it took us a while to decide. We finally settled on large chocolate cupcake, lemon tart, pecan tart, a pumpkin square and some type of cannoli cake. The chocolate cupcake was little more than a dry chocolate cake and the pumpkin square was almost devoid of pumpkin taste. We fared better with the 2 tarts which were good, not great. The last dessert, a coconut macaroon, was past its prime.

Friendly service. The cookies are bland and stale. The black food coloring temporarily stains the teeth. Cupcakes are decent.

With the start of the new year and the possibility of a beach getaway in the not-so-distant future, I started my healthy eating diet today. That all came to a screeching halt when I decided, on a whim, to stop in at Fusion for some cupcakes. It was(pretty much) on my way home from my boyfriend’s house and I had wanted to try it for a while. Today seemed to be as good a day as any other especially since it is my one week anniversary since turning 30, but really, who needs an excuse to eat cake? I popped in an hour before closing time and it appeared many of the items were sold out. That didn’t turn out to be an issue at all as I found plenty of things that I wanted. Per usual, I ordered a red velvet cupcake in addition to a small cherry cheesecake, a Guinness cupcake, and a gluten-free chocolate cupcake. I ate the first two items in the store and took the other two home for later. I was the only patron in the bakery at the time so I sat at one of the many tables and savored each bite of the cherry cheesecake and the red velvet cake. Both were very good. A few words about the red velvet cupcake: it’s made with only a small amount of red food coloring and gets most of its color from beet juice, a natural coloring agent. I’d read about this before but had never used it in my own baking of red velvet cupcakes even though I have been planning to since my last batch. Now I’m even more inspired. The reason they don’t use beet juice exclusively is that«some of it can evaporate and leave the middle of the cupcake a grey-ish color». The other two cupcakes were also quite enjoyable. The Guinness was nice and moist and there was only a trace of the Guinness flavor but it was very good. The frosting complimented it well. The gluten-free chocolate was great flavor-wise but was a bit dry. Not something I wouldn’t get again, though. In addition to the cupcakes, cakes, cookies, breads, brownies, crème brûlée, truffle tarts, lemon tarts, macarons, etc., Fusion also carries a large assortment of Lake Champlain chocolates. There’s also a beverage case that sells Avery’s sodas as well as other drinks. If you’re craving something sweet, Fusion is your kind of place.

I’m writing this review as I enjoy leftover cupcakes that I picked up from Fusion for the weekend. I can’t give this place any less than 5 stars because I’m smiling like an idiot in the library as I enjoy these delectable treats. I stopped into Fusion on Friday with an expired Groupon that I meant to use before September, but never got around to it.(The owner? let me use the $ 12 amount I paid for it, since that never expires, and he told me they’re going to be doing another Groupon soon!) It was in the afternoon, so a lot of the baked goods were picked over, but there was still a good assortment. I picked up a cannoli cupcake, a raspberry filled chocolate cupcake, a carrot cake cupcake, a red velvet cupcake, a cupcake-sized cherry cheesecake, and the most wonderful giant slab of chocolate cake with a fluffy whipped peanut butter frosting and chocolate coating with crunchy peanut butter and chocolate topping ever created.(It was a long week, and everything looked really good.) My grand total came to about $ 19 and change, not counting my Groupon credit. It was all worth it. Everything was really good. The bigger chocolate cupcakes were a little dry on the edges, but the frosting was quality. The smaller carrot cake and red velvet cupcakes were delicious. The cheesecake was very good. The standout was clearly that chocolate peanut butter cake — super moist, perfect amount of salty sweetness in the peanut butter frosting, and a wonderful solid chocolate layer on top. The staff was very friendly, and the bakery itself in its new location was very open and full of light. There was a good amount of tables to have a seat, too. Seeing as how my internship is around the corner, I will be back here more often. Much more often.

Fusion Bakery is truly one of Middltown’s hidden treasures. I do not work far from the building they are, so I shop in that mall frequently. The staff are very nice and helpful. The food is very fresh and everything is baked daily. You can easily see the quality of there food and the cleanliness of their kitchen by looking through the glass walls. I have ordered so much from here and have not been let down. Stop by and give them a try. They also have a gluten free selection to choose from.
