I ordered a Fried Oyster sandwich at the Frederick Fair today. It was the WORST oyster sandwich I have ever eaten. In fact I gave it my cats, who did not eat it. Although there were plenty of oysters on the sandwich they were overbreaded, and fried until they were dry and hard as rocks. They also were so highly seasoned with pepper that it was the predominant flavor. Very, very disappointed and sad because I was looking forward to that sandwich.

Crab cakes are excellent. This is a very popular place in Middletown. I highly recommend them. I took my family here when they visited from out of town and they were very pleased with the quality.

Tried the crabs and crab dip a couple of weeks ago. They were the best crabs we’ve had in several years. The crab dip is amazing. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Returned for our second trip there last night to get crabs. They were just as good as the first time. Ended up getting the crab dip and a loaded potato. Both were outstanding. This place rocks for seafood.

We happened upon this place after a hike. We read good reviews about it so we just decided to check it out. Though down a road you wouldn’t expect a seafood place to be, it was a secret treasure. The people were extremely kind and helpful and the food was amazing. We had the crab dip(to die for), the pulled pork(healthy portion, tender and delicious), crab cake(the best I’ve ever had), and BBQ wings(which were meaty and flavorful). Couldn’t be more happy with the decision to go there and am definitely going to be visiting again. Another thing to add: we were in workout clothing, so no need to worry about attire:)

Stumbled across this place while exploring on our vacation June 2014. It was a Sunday and while we drove through the hillsides northern of Maryland we kept seeing signs with a little crab and«JB Seafood». I love crabs(because even the *tiniest* ones will will put up a claw to fight!) so I noticed them over and over. We decided to follow the signs and arrived at a small seafood business perched over rolling corn fields. My husband went inside to see if they served food or just distributed. We were directed to a very recently-built deck out back with umbrella tables and comfortable chairs. We ordered crab cake sandwiches and crab fries. It was cooked on the spot and brought to us with bottled drinks. Oh. My. God. I grew up on the North Carolina coast, eating seafood all year long, and this was the best crab I ever had. The crab cakes were loosely formed, broiled, and tender. There was very little binder, just giant hunks of white, sweet crab. The fries were a very generous amount of shoestring fries with melted cheese and MORE huge chunks of tender crab. The very nice lady who took our order and was our server told us the crabs were from Chesapeake Bay and they service restaurants, cater, and now serve on site. If you can get there, GO. If you’re in another state 400 miles away like I am, you just have to suffer like my husband and I are now! Fantastic food!

Labor Day weekend we ordered crabs and clams. We were told the crabs were medium but heavy. The crabs were awful; gray and empty. I called the owner who was apologetic and said he would send a gift card. No further communication was ever received, and had the drive not been another 11⁄2 hours round trip, they would have been returned. We will not be doing business with them again. J & P on 97 North in Woodbine, Md. has excellent crabs.

WOW! We are an admitted family of steamed crab snobs and JB Seafood wowed us all! BRAVO! Can’t wait for our next crab feast! Note: This is carry out or cater only — no seating or wait service. Do phone ahead to place your order. Lot’s of other tasty menu items also.
