Great service, horrible food.
Wings were nasty, taste like pre cooked B1Wingers for those in the biz., all sauces thin and taste the same, celery was dry and old, blue cheese dressing was some kind of kitchen experiment.
Blue cheese with good seasons zesty Italian dressing mix?
Will never return.

EXCELLENT burgers, COLD beer, and FRIENDLY service. Did I mention the welcoming atmosphere? I’m so glad I decided to come here while waiting on my flight vs the airport. The reviews don’t lie for this place! This is the kind of place you want to stumble across when you first move into a new town. If I ever fly back into or out of Harrisburg International, I will certainly make the time to stop by here.

Excellent food and friendly service. Very clean bathroom. Cold beer with great nachos and wings. Family dining area and outdoor seating. This is a comfortable local spot that we will return to again and again!

If you are ever in Middletown, this is the place to go. It seems a bit sketchy when you first walk up, but it is really nice inside. In the warmer months, they have a very relaxing outdoor area. The bartenders and servers are super friendly and the drinks are inexpensive. But… the FOOD is OUTSTANDING! For how low key it is, you wouldn’t expect that, but I every single time I eat here, I love it! The junction nachos are literally the best food I have ever eaten in my life.

OMG this is Middletown’s best kept secret! I have lived in this town for 7 years and never knew so a great place to eat! I am so happy I saw the great reviews on Unilocal and decided to try it. This is going to be my new «go to» place! Food was fresh and amazing and the outdoor patio is so nice and relaxing! Oh and everyone was so nice!

Outside is deceiving but don’t judge the book by the cover. Inside has been tastefully remodeled. The service was prompt and friendly. I ordered a hamburger with fries. Outstanding– fresh and cooked to order. Highly recommended. Added bonus is the place is next to the Amtrak station and 2 minutes from airport.

Wow! What a fun accidental find… this place is a hidden treasure! Fat hand made burgers, seafood nachos with scallops and shrimp omg!!! They have a quaint outside seating area and a nice bar… staff is very friendly and it’s not a wild crowd!!! Excited to find a small bar with a local feel and delicious food! We will definitely be back soon!!! Inexpensive compared to other local places… I highly recommend this cute little gem hidden between two buildings… it’s worth finding this place!

The new renovations look so nice here. I had a tuna melt with fries and it was delicious! The sandwich had fresh tomato slices and leaf lettuce, and the tuna mix was perfect with melted cheese.
They have the best beers on tap with great bartenders too who know how to make drinks. Virginia is my fav. She has always done right by me. The bar has flat screens in case you want to check out a game that’s on. There are also snacks and a digital jukebox.
I recommend trying JDs Junction whenever you’re in town, and if you reside here in Middletown then you definitely need to stop by. Perfect for a couple of pals and drinks, or a pleasant meal with someone special in the dining room.

Great, fresh, locally-sourced food & friendly staff. They rehabbed a local dive and it’s beautiful. Conveniently located across from the Amtrak station. I found it when I arrived from NYC.
I had oyster pie & salad with jalapeño vinaigrette. Yum!

Was here with my family, A large group in a small place. They were very accommodating getting us all in and seated. We all loved our meals. The shepards pie was really good and a huge portion. The filet were cooked right to our order and tender.. Service was great!

Be ware Racist place…
I went in there recently to eat and grab a drink… was judged as soon as I walked in. Was stared up and down… was at the Blue Room right up the street which is a great place! Left there because i heard of this place… so I decided to try it… soon I walked in the door was carded and stared at… bartender said I cant serve your kind in here… so I left… what a shame to see that I was treated this way… I grew up in this town and never thought I would see something like this… I am hispanic and all there was in there was middletown white trash… I cannot believe I got treated this way… do not go in there if you are non white…

I was expecting a bit more from the burger based on the other reviews I read. It was good, but not anything really special. The Blue Room across the tracks is a much better option, IMHO.
Also, note they have a $ 25 minimum to use a credit card. (There is an ATM in the bar area.) I pass through Middletown at least twice a week, but I’m not likely to come back, almost solely because of the credit card restriction.

I’ve had lunch at JD’s twice now. The first time I had a burger which was cooked to medium-doneness perfection. It was an 8 oz patty, hand formed, that had nice browning on the exterior, and was pink throughout the patty. The second time was an order of hot wings. These wings may have been the most perfectly cooked wings I’ve ever had. The skin was crispy; the meat was juicy and tender, and the hot sauce clung to the wing well. The only thing I did not like with the wings was that the sauce was too buttery tasting for my liking. Service has been very good both times. The bar is clean and neat, but definitely not fancy in anyway. There is a long granite top bar, and a separate dining area. This place is definitely worth checking out.

I hear this place was newly remodeled when we visited about a week ago. Inside you’ll find a small dining room to the left and a small bar to the right. Décor is a contemporary style to fit your local Middletowner, out-of-towner, yupee, or college crowd. JD’s is a really cute little place!
Though we didn’t dine here, we sure as hell drank here! Drinks are very reasonable, if not cheap! Our bartender, Jerry, was entertaining, fun, and kept our drinks full! What more can you ask for!
Getting here can be a little tricky because it’s off of the main drag (Union Street). They definitely need some signs both on the main street with an arrow and one in front of their establishment. In addition to signs, not sure if they have a parking lot or reserved parallel parking spaces?
