i heard this place was good. let me be the first to tell you it was god awful. ordered a 1 buffalo slice and 1BBQ chicken slice and a water came out to $ 10.75. i could have went to a high end restaurant and got an actual meal for that price. then the pizza literally tasted like hot dogs. will literally never step foot in this awful establishment a day in my life.

As a long-time fan of Joey’s pizza, I was glad to see a traditional Hudson Valley pizzeria offer vegan slices with Daiya cheese and veggie toppings. The vegan pies have the same crispy, chewy crust and tasty sauce with just a touch of sweetness that I remember enjoying in my pre-vegan days. Kudos to Joey’s for offering vegan pies for those who don’t or can’t eat dairy, and for making vegan pizza that actually tastes good.

Expensive especially for just a few slices, and then the pizza is really not all that good. Good place though, clean, guys there are cool and funny.

Stopped in there for lunch on a friday afternoon and the place was full of people sitting down eating and seemed like they were enjoying their meals. Behind the counter was at least 4 workers putting pepperoni on pizzas, bringing dishes out to the counter, and putting things in the huge oven. My eyes was so busy watching everyone that when it was my turn to order, i stumbled on my words. I ordered a slice of pepperoni pizza and a pinwheel. The staff weren’t very friendly and kept there eyes to the ground or on the food, which was a tad bit annoying. But i must say that the flavor of the pinwheel was impressive, doused with olive oil and cheese and tons of tasty pepperoni slices. The pizza was unlike any NY style pizza I’ve ever tasted. The sauce was very sweet, the cheese thin and the crust a bit thick. This would be laughed at in Brooklyn NY. But lets remember where we are, Orange County(upstate Ny). The food is quite good here for sure, but nothing like the NY old world style gourmet like they claim.

The eggplant slice without pesto was SOGOOD but SOOVER-PRICED. it was like $ 4 for a slice. insane. i’ll try avoiding this place just because of the price.

I have eaten the pizza here several times and I have to say that it’s average. I stopped in today and decide to order a chicken parm sub. Big mistake. I found the man behind the counter taking orders to be rather rude. Everyone in my party agreed. He was curt and unfriendly. Looking over other reviews I was surprised to read that people find the staff warm and inviting. I could totally overlook this if I had been served a decent meal. They couldn’t get even one thing right. I started out with a fountain soda that was flat. The roll they used for the sandwich tasted stale and funky. The«chicken» was unidentifiable. It had an unpleasant tough texture unlike any chicken I’ve ever eaten. It was hard to bite into. Blech! I gave up on the sandwich and decided to tide myself over on the bag of chips they included with it. I was let down once again. The chips were stale. Ugh. My companions went the smart route and ordered pizza. At least that’s edible. I wound up going over to Frank’s pizza and getting a sandwich from there. It was a million times better. If you’re looking for anything other than a slice of pizza I’d avoid this place like the plague. I have noticed that the only reviews that receive feedback from this restaurant are the negative ones. They seem to attack the reviewers and at least once suggested that the reviewer should have complained on the spot. I know in my case I didn’t feel comfortable complaining to the staff given the less than courteous treatment we had received while ordering. I’m just hoping to warn future unsuspecting patrons against wasting their money on inedible food.

Completely disappointed with Joey’s at Recent visit with a partner for dinner. We ordered simple dinners, chicken Parmesan and pasta with clam sauce. The iceburg salads we were served were fresh but the dressings were tasteless. The garlic bread for the table was pizza dough shaped like a dog bone drenched in some sort of butter oil that slightly tasted of garlic. Our dinners were huge ridiculously over sized plates of pasta with two huge pieces of «chicken» and the other with what looks like some canned clam sauce and lots of parsley. The«chicken» was made of a cold cut thin sized slice of «chicken» coated with an half inch of «coating». In other words it’s not a chicken cutlet, it’s fake chicken” something I would have never ordered. The huge plates can’t conceal the poor quality of food and makes me wonder what else at joey’s isn’t what it appears to be. The pizza section is large but the quality ranges from ok to not so good. Quantity doesn’t equal quality. The staff is very friendly and I want to like Joeys but what was passed off as food is poor. Joeys use to be better I wonder what happened to them. It’s not hard to find good basic Italian food at local pizza places I’m sorry to say joeys isn’t one of them anymore.

So I’m going to start by saying that I feel really bad to give such a well loved pizza joint such a low rating. We were excited to be able to eat NY style pizza again but the pizza here just didn’t do it for me. Husband ordered a different topping combo that I didn’t love to start. But then the toppings started to slide off the pizza and the crust wasn’t all that special. We will give it another try because we do love our pizza and maybe we will eat in instead of take out. We have to believe everyone that loves Joey’s so hopefully it’ll be better next time.

The best pizza in Orange County by far! All the counter guys are super nice and helpful also. It’s very obvious that everyone is passionate about the food they serve. This place is also always packed with people — so that’s a good sign

I’ve been going to Joey’s since I was young. One of the best pizza places I have been to in Orange County! They have a great selection and menu of other delicious dishes. Staff is friendly and restaurant is clean!

I’ve been going to Joeys for over 20 years and have eaten almost every pizzeria in Middletown. Joeys by far is the best pizza in town and Orange County. They are also the only place you can get a focaccia slice which is out of this world. The staff is top notch and never skips a beat.

It’s great to have an Italian place nearby that can make things with vegan cheese!!! There are lot of other great options as well. The food here is delicious and satisfying, and the staff is accommodating. Convenient location if you’re out shopping in Middletown.

I love this place, I love the guys and most importantly I love the PIZZA! since moving back from a back to middletown I remember never enjoying the pizza in the area and settled for pizza hut. However Joey’s is definitely thee best Pizza place in the area. The guys behind the counter are awesome and welcoming. Each type of slice I’ve had was great. They even made a specialty pizza for me on Valentine’s day, how dope is that. enjoy.

Joey’s hits it home again, and again. Each time I come back I discover new kinds of slices and variations of old. Most importantly, they’re always fresh, and they’re always delicious.

Just the BEST pizza around. As good as ny pizza gets. Only downfall, the other dishes… not so great and they don’t deliver.

Good job Joeys, we ate there today and bruschetta topped slices were very tasty. Fresh veggies mixed with Italian seasoning makes a great topping. Sicilian squares were a bit chewy but tasted great. Girlfriend had sausage topped slice and raved about it all the way home. Good fast service, nice friendly people, clean bathroom, scrubbed tabletops and pleasant atmosphere. Good food requires good ingredients and Joey’s has both. You can taste the difference.

Best pizza in Orange County, hands down. The toppings are always fresh, the crust has a perfect consistency and it just tastes amazing. I also love their small antipasto, which feeds at least three people. Yes, just a small. Highly recommended!
