Went out for a quick drink and ended up staying 2 – 3 hours! Keagan’s is a great place but if you’re looking for a younger crowd then you may want to plan accordingly. My boyfriend and I went around 8pm on a Friday, and the two guys behind the bar were the best! We met Wally, who we assume is the owner(great guy, for a Yankee fan). We can’t wait to come back for another drink, and maybe some pool. I wonder if their food is any good?

After reading great reviews my husband and I went for burgers one Friday night. We went fairly early in the night and it was clear when we walked in that we were the only non-regulars there. The bar was full of people and the tables were empty so a table it was. Immediately someone ran over took our drink order. Then(I’m assuming it was an owner) came and lit the candle on our table and made sure we had been taken care of. He turned to the guys at the bar and asked them to stop swearing which I thought was pretty considerate. I got the feeling the whole time that we were there that everyone was happy to have new people there and wanted us to be comfortable. As the night went on more people came in and filled up the tables. Now the food– we asked to order burgers and were given a make your own burger paper which I loved. There were several choices of sauces and sides which all sounded fantastic. The burger was super moist and my husband thought his was way better than anything he’d had at Plan B, Prime 16, etc. I opted for the Cajun fries which were great with just the right amount of spice. Portions weren’t huge but still a good size. The table next to us ordered wings which looked very good. The beer was cold and plentiful– just what we needed. Overall– great service and food. I’d give it 5 stars except for the location on Main Street(maybe it’s just me but I always seem to have people hitting me up for money in that stretch).

Divey Main Street Middletown bar with a horrible selection of beers on tap. I’ve heard the staff is fun though. I had one drink and bounced, because I didn’t want to choose my second one from that selection.

Ended up here around 11pm on a Friday night. This pub draws locals and students a like. Lots of space and a pretty good draft list, including local beers. There’s a jukebox and a stage for live music. Lots of large TV screens, where we watched curling and chatted with people in the bar about the sport.

Their burgers are amazing. They also have this burger bar where you can choose whatever you want as toppings. I really like the burgers, which is surprising as a pub. But what I really liked was Amy, the bartender. She was really friendly and knowledgable about the beers! I tried this one called Hooker, which is a dark chocolate beer. The beer was sweet with a hint of dark chocolate when you sip it.

The food was delicious. I loved the burger bar option, with lots of choices. The server was very friendly and accommodating to a child. Although i probably wouldn’t bring my kids back as it’s more of a pub than a family restaurant.

Showed up on 1÷3÷15 a Saturday in the morning so it was quiet but a nice small bar. the place looked and felt clean. The owner was bar tending and very friendly. The drinks were good and the beer was cold. I did not try the food but saw a few burgers come out and they looked good. Bathroom was extremely dark and could use more lighting.

Amy the bartender was great, my buddy and I stopped in for a quick drink while passing through town. She was friendly, helpful with tips for things to do and even knew a bit of history about the bar. A fun cozy Irish pub, next time we’re in town we’ll definitely be making a stop in!

Chef Ren cooks up some delicious specials! The new menu is great and the service is excellent! I definitely recommended this pub. It is more than meets the eye. Open mic Mondays and great drink specials during the week. Very nice, local vibe.

Stopped here after dinner. I haven’t been here in a couple years it is under new ownership since then. There was plenty of seating available when we got there. We sat down and the 1st thing I noticed was the floor reminded me of a movie theater I had to get them unstuck from the floor. The bartender came to the table quickly and poured 4 very good drinks. Plenty of TV’s to watch games. It wasn’t crazy loud just the right volume actually. They were playing Irish music for the 1st few minutes we were there, then it changed to rock. We were sitting by the pool table and bathroom which wasn’t terrible except the guys playing pool end up putting drinks where your sitting and leaning on the edge of the table. I have to say again the bartender was awesome he was on it! They have some seating outside for smokers

Stopped in here on an afternoon to get some wings and beers. What a nice place! Totally chill pub atmosphere, a couple of older guys hanging at the bar and the supernice barmaid were the only other folks in there. We shared spicy bourbon BBQ wings, which were messy but good. Various international and domestic craft brews on tap for reasonable prices, and a tv showing World Cup– a low key bar with good prices and solid food.

This place has hands down the best fried wings and burgers around. I’ve eaten burgers everywhere including max burger, plan b, and prime 16. This burger can be better on any given day. It’s huge, delicious and always cooked exactly how you want it. Don’t believe me check it out yourself

Has nostalgia. Great food, wings are great. Crunchy and juicy, bunch of different flavors… I had the best burger I’ve ever had here last night. One pool table. Fun times.

Put on your favorite shirt, even if it’s pink, and go to a good place in Middletown for a cold drink, The male bartender surely knows his craft brews, If you need some help on which one to possibly choose. My large group of friends ended up here on New Years Eve after Eli Cannon’s was closed(what the heck?). Luckily it was Tuesday night and they had a special: $ 2.50 for ALL drafts. You better believe we made it rain. I sampled a bunch of good quality IPAs and Stouts. The bartender explained that the $ 2.50 special was so that customers would feed the jukebox with their extra 50 cents. All in all, the staff was nice, the place was very clean for an Irish pub, and the crowd was cool. They have a little area outdoors for seating/smoking. They also have a pool table and I believe they have darts. We’ll be back on our next Middletown bar crawl.

Some people never go crazy. What truly horrible lives they must lead. The bar formerly known as Hair of The Dog. now Keagan’s Irish Pub. We were here on that one day that all Irish pubs make a killing; St Patricks Day. Yah, we did it. place was packed with young folks. Took a while to get a drink and I am pretty sure I got the wrong thing, but it was liquor and it wasn’t too expensive and we got some crappy blinking guinness button or somesuch nonsense that didn’t make it out the front door. Nice bar overall. Crowd was rowdy on St Pats, bar was loud. probably usually like this.

Limited food and no menus(short of 1 large chalkboard, and a piece of looseleaf paper on the table listing what was available). Ordinarily you would say«why bother»? Dont kid yourself… this place has charm. Don’t pass this fun pub by if you want a pint and a wee. The owner, who was present and available to all, came out to chat. He was very charming as he served us our food. The waitress/server(the only one in the place) was absolutely appealing as well. The beer(one of about 20 on tap) was great and the prices were terrific; no price gouging here. Wings were .$ 50 each, a burger(on english bread) and a grilled vegetable sandwich(really amazing, believe me… beat the burger) were not expensive(about $ 8.50, with a big portion of fries). All served with homemade chips, english pub fries, and ROASTED ketchup(yes, you read that right) if you want it as well. This is a casual, relaxed pub, with the high, tin ceilings, more types of beer than you can want, a small pool table in the back, high english chairs, booths, and a lot of giant tvs. MORETV’S THANMENUITEMS. Not an epicurean experience because the food is so limited BUT the food is good. They have unique pub fries cut right from potatoes… no precut frozen crinkle cuts here. For delightful pint while watching a game… this is THE place to go. This is not Buffalo wild wings… believe me. This is a place to leisurely sit, have a draft, and watch a game. Its perfect in a college town. Its just too bad the college kids probably cannot appreciate how GREATl this place really is. If it was in my neighborhood, this would be the great neighborhood bar… Can’t really give it 5 stars due to the limited menu… but frankly, who cares… I’ll be back to sit, have a beer, and watch a game. This place should stay… I’ll be going there for 20 years if its around. VISIT– 5÷11÷13 Have now visited a 2nd time and found the place to be as compelling as it was the 1st time. Menu’s are now a printed sheet, not handwritten looseleaf. Had one of the pizza’s…was amazing. Not a New Haven pizza, but more a flatbread with toppings on it… Still great. Again, more than 20 beers appear to be on tap… LOVETHISPLACE. You must go. For a younger, livelier crowd than myself(50 yr old fuddy duddy), this was happening. they had a band, a «jack and jill» party coming in, and had a bouncer to keep out those who couldn’t keep up. The owner was there again… LOVETHISGUY! HEIS A BLASTANDGREATWITHTHECUSTOMERS Go enjoy… I’m sure it will be worth your while to enjoy a beer while watchnig a game with a lively crowd. MTS
