This review is for Dr. Raji, who has saved my eyesight on two occasions. I went to the office when I had an emergency a couple of years ago. I was seen quickly and referred to a specialist that same afternoon. She was compassionate and efficient. On a return visit the next year, she diagnosed another eye condition which, if left untreated, would lead to blindness. She did not make a hasty decision, and she explained her whole testing and decision making process to me. In follow up visits she’s proven to be the best ophthamogist one could hope to see. I have no hesitation in recommending her to family and friend.

This review is regarding Dr. Raji Mulukutla. I’m not going to drag this on and make it long. Also, I’m sure there will be a response from her office after this review. The response will be all lies. But I know what I know, and this is the truth. I have never had a problem with any other doctor regarding fillers. I’ve had 2 previous doctors who had done fillers on me and had ZERO problem. Also I am not a person to complain, but when I see wrong doing, I must speak up. With that being said, the last time I had fillers with Dr. Raji she had told me I had some leftover. It had already cost me almost $ 900. I wrote it in my iPhone notes so I knew for sure the cost, date and price. I called back to get the remainder of it, and her office assistant told me there was nothing left, after driving over an hour to the office under the impression I was getting the remaider of my filler. THISWAS A COMPLETELIE. I KNOW I HADFILLERLEFTOVER. DONOTTRUSTTHISDOCTOR, I BEGOFYOU. SHEWILLROBYOU. They make you believe you have nothing left over so you go ahead and buy another $ 900 worth of fillers. And most people will not question a doctor, or feel too embarrassed to, I myself would have never questioned either. But I had taken notes, so I DOKNOW. Make sure to take notes of EVERYTHING. Doctors are people too, and they can scam just like any other person. And that is the truth. This office will try to say that they don’t hold a tube for more than a certain time, or try to deny I had any filler left. It’s a lie, I looked at my notes, so I know that I did.

I’ve been with the practice for more than ten years and have been very pleased with my eye care. Dr. Raji has a great bedside manner and is so easy to talk to. She talks to you, not at you. Dr. Raji found a scar in my eye that had been there forever. No other eye doctor ever mentioned it. I had pictures taken to document and I’ve been fine. I have also seen Dr. Mascarenhas for a problem and was immediately put at ease with her calm soothing demeanor. I’ve recommended them to friends and family.(I Love my glasses too!!)

About a year ago we relocated to Connecticut. I wear glasses and have become accustomed to my silhouettes. Unfortunately, they are prone to metal fatigue and will suddenly snap, making them unusable. This has happened twice in 2013, so I found this establishment which was able to repair them. Since I needed a new prescription, I decided to make an appointment here.(It is only located a few hundred meters from my work.) Also, the optometrist I was scheduled with was recommended by two coworkers. We just got new health insurance though the ACA, though with a high deductible. Unfortunately I was informed that the clinic did not take any plans from the CT exchange. Oh, well! I’d do private pay as I have done many a times. I compared the exam with others I have had at optometrist offices. For the last 10 years or so, I went to a doc in Alameda, CA. There, I had to go through several machine exams, one of which was perimetry, a visual field test which also tests for glaucoma. The optometrist would then test my distance and near vision to determine the best corrective lenses. Now here, I went directly into the exam room. The optometrist was VERY nice. My chief complaint was with reading. He did an eye pressure exam as well as a thorough fundoscopic exam. He was even concerned about some narrow drainage channels despite my never ever having had problems with dilation. He checked my distant vision but not my near vision. Instead he decided to just crank up my reading lenses a notch. Essentially I was quite content with the exam although it was not as comprehensive as I was used to. But then came the surprise. In the past I had paid between $ 80 and $ 120 for an exam. After just looking up average fees, I found some $ 150 ones. I was charged $ 345! I have not yet received my new glasses. They will cost $ 900+. But that I expected. I hope the reading part is correct. My biggest problem is the cost as related to the service. When you have to pay more than twice as much for the same(or even fewer) services, the overall rating drops. Perhaps when one has a complicated ophthalmologic disorder, it is worth it. But for a routine vision exam the fee was a little over the top.

More stars for Dr Raji. I have only had glasses a few years and my first pair was a horror story — i took my prescription to an eyeglass place that had a frame i liked and what i got back was glasses with lenses that were put in upside down. talk about headaches and stange visions. Now I always come to Dr Raji and get my glasses from their eyeglass store in the lobby. I trust these people with my eyes!
