I broke the echo plate and tubes on my Fender Bluesman Jr. amplifier after knocking it over and was incredibly dismayed. I brought it into Middlesex Music Academy and they did phenomenal and wonderful work. You can tell that they owner of the shop really cares of the shop because he actually listens to the customer and their requests. The technician also deserves much kudos — incredibly talented. I am very happy with the work they did and will be going here for all of my instrumental needs and you should too.

Friendly staff, great selection of instruments and supplies, and the best instructors around. They also do instrument and electronics repair — I’ve had a clarinet and a few amplifiers repaired and have been very happy with their services. Will definitely be back.

A big thank you to Kathy and Matt Lefebvre, the owners of Middlesex Music Academy for donating a Jasmine S35 guitar to our fundraiser Oct 18th, Art of Wine which benefits Arts for Learning, Hamden, CT. We bring arts education to schools in Connecticut and are so proud to have this guitar for our silent auction. What an amazingly generous gift! Thanks a million — what a great organization. As great as a smaller local music store can be. Well stocked, clean and great vibe from the happy and thoughtful staff!

A great, and one of the few, brick & mortar music shops left and it thrives!!! The stock is quality and there are lots of quality used instruments on consignment. The staff, Matt(the owner) and Jim, are friendly and extremely knowledgeable. The teaching staff is top notch. They are well educated and all are performing musicians. Support this B & M music shop and tell’em Bill B. sent you!!!

I’ve never had any lessons here, but I’ve heard from friends that it’s a good place for kids. I’ve bought supplies there, and the employees are always knowledgeable and nice.

My only experience here was renting an instrument for my elementary school student. The rental plans are great, the person that took care of us was knowledgeable and took his time with us. There were plenty of families in the store when I was there, and we were all renting instruments for our children — the gentlemen there knew which books were used by which band teachers, etc. It was a very smooth process. I am sure that we will return over the summer for lessons.

Just an owner change… my brother had $ 300 worth of gift cards to this place, and he called and asked if he could use them since they changed owners, and the manager said YES on the phone, as long as he came by Jan 31. Mind you they kept a log of gift cards. When my brother got there weeks before Jan 31, the manager would only accept $ 50 worth! My mom told him that they said they would accept all of them. The manager said that«he didn’t realize there were so many gift certs out there» when asked about the log of gift certs(because it was all written down) he did not know how to respond. Eventually my brother got him to accept half of the gift cards. What bad customer service. Don’t tell someone on the phone you will accept the gift certs and the next day change your mind!!! My brother never had a problem til he went after the name change to «joe riff’s music»

Drove by the other day and the sign no longer says Matts Music! not sure if its just a name-change or owner-change.
