Middletown Framing

In my opinion, this is the best framing shop in the area by far! My husband and I have been here a few times to get major framing jobs done and we have been absolutely thrilled with the final products.
The owner Dmitri is incredibly helpful and takes the time to show all types of combinations of frames and mattes. He has a really great eye and always offers suggestions that I’d never think of on my own, so that’s really valuable. Also, he never tries to push the most expensive options, but instead will offer many different choices. Orders are always ready in a reasonable amount of time and the end product is always beautiful! If you’re looking to get something framed, you don’t need to look any further than this fine store!

I visited Middletown Framing last week to have the glass replaced on a large picture. The glass on my piece was badly cracked. Before visiting I called several frame shops to get price quotes and this shop had the best quote. I was told over the phone that the quote could change when they saw the piece and that they really don’t like to give quotes over the phone so I was prepared for the price to change but I decided to check them out knowing that I could always walk out if I changed my mind.
When I took in my piece to get evaluated the gentleman was very friendly and helpfully explained all of my different options regarding types of glass without being pushy or trying to convince me into a more expensive glass just to make more money. He was very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions patiently.
The price quote did go up from the quote I originally received on the phone but the reason why was clearly explained to me and the final price was still considerably lower than any of the other frame shops that I had contacted (which was quite a few.)
Besides the great price, the best part is that he replaced my glass right on the spot while I waited and even offered me a cup of tea while I waited. I should also note that I visited right before closing time so he probably stayed open late to finish my piece.
I was also given a set of new picture hooks to hang my piece which was a really nice touch.
Overall I am very pleased with Middletown Framing and would definitely return in the future for my framing needs. The quality of the work looks great and my piece looks great in its new home on my living room wall.

In preparation for an art show, I recently put my original paintings in the capable hands of the folks at Middletown Framing. In addition to having my works framed, I also had prints made up to sell; as an artist, I was thrilled to see that they offer this service. With their huge scanner and printer, and variety of paper types, there are many possibilities.
While I was at it, I decided to bring in a damaged antique print to see if there was anything that could be done with it. Dmitri patiently walked me through everything, taking the time to show me my options and make suggestions, all while working within my budget. For customer service, Middletown Framing gets an A+.
I was impressed by the selection of frames and mats, ranging from simple to super ornate. Also, this is a small, family run business that supports the community’s local art scene, so it makes me happy to help support them. And, the price tag was completely reasonable. They happened to be running a summer special at the time, which saved me quite a bit.

My family as well as the organization I work for comes to Middletown Framing for all of their framing needs So when I moved back to the area and needed some framework done while decorating my new home, it seemed logical that I go there as well.
The honest guidance through the process was impressive and all my options (of which there are a lot more than I ever thought possible) were clearly described to me. The end result was a transformation of the simple photos and pictures I brought in into full-​blown works of art which I now proudly display on the walls of my home.

I recently was gifted a series of old maps that my grandparents had stowed away for who knows how long. I have always done the cheap standard frames from Kohl’s or IKEA or what not but thought these deserved better. As I was new to the professional framing aspect, I was easily overwhelmed by the variety of styles and choices to make. Dmitri was a huge help in picking out what kind of frame, style, matting, and color schemes. The end result of 6 different framed maps of different shadings came out gloriously! He was very careful to make sure they came out the way I wanted and they really came out perfectly as a set. He even came up with a great and interesting way to frame the cover slip so that it had glass on both sides and you can flip the frame over and still read what the back of it says.
I have been extremely pleased with the excellent quality of the service throughout. The process of choosing was easy. Dmitri was able to listen to what I wanted, give me professional feedback and offer opinions and options when I was at a loss as well. The end product was exactly as I had hoped it would look. I have since been back to get some more of my own stuff framed and for a family present as well. I highly recommend Dmitri and Middletown framing and expect to be bringing my own business there for a long time to come!
