Great little course! Took my wife who is just starting to learn and she loved it. Very laid back, no pressure golf course. Port a Potty was the cleanest I have ever experienced. Price was right too. 2 players with cart $ 40

When I started to learn to play golf, a good friend took me here and said this is a great place to learn the game, and then stay and enjoy the game. I like the friendly folks, its a simple course and easy to plan and enjoy. A good price for 9 and a cart. I usually play alone and always find someone ahead/behind me to play with as we take our time and enjoy. I always start my season here, and look to play a few time when I need just some me time. It is like an old friend, always happy to be here.

Super cheap with decent greens, Tucked away– it’s so serene. BYOB? Sure, why not? Let’s play when it’s cold, Let’s play when it’s hot. Miner Hills is my local spot for hitting some balls around with my irons. It’s definitely no frills, but it’s convenient, inexpensive, and never too busy. Greens are always in good shape. They also have a small driving range and a putting green. They don’t have a liquor license, so feel free to bring some brewskis. Once, I almost got a hole-in-one on Hole 2 as well. Be impressed.

Played their with my daughter on Sunday who is learning Golf. Course was in great shape and a great course for the beginner… but also good for more experienced players wanting to work on their short game.

A very nice nine-hole course of par 3’s and 4’s. Miner Hills has a great location between New Haven and Hartford that’s pretty easy to find. One of my associations had a twilight golf event here and Miner Hills was terrific to deal with, they easily worked with us on the catering and food service. Super reasonable cost for golf and carts, and we dealt with some very nice people at the pro shop organizing the evening. Yay, I’m a fan!

A short 9-hole course that’s not as easy as you might expect. Miner Hills is a family run course(and driving range) that has a very friendly staff. The atmosphere is laid back, as this is very much a course that’s welcoming to the general public. It’s a Par 30 with six par 3’s and three par 4’s. Every hole is under 300 yards. However, the par 47th is straight uphill and the par 3 before it plays close to 200 yards uphill from the white tees. The course is kept in fairly good condition and there was a crew leaf-blowing when I played there. It’s hard to play with a yellow ball and hit into all those leaves! While there are not too many hazards here, most of the fairways and approaches are relatively narrow. There are some small greens too and the slopes can be tough to judge. The prices are fair, but when I saw a deal of $ 9 for 18 holes and a cart(seriously?!) on GolfNow, I could not pass it up. I believe the rate is usually $ 21 or so. The cart also had a lot of pep. Probably the fastest cart I’ve used on any course! I will be coming back here in the future!

Not fancy by any means, but a local 9 hole executive course that is pretty cheap. If you want a really pretty(and flat!) executive course, go to Willowbrook in South Windsor… Miner hills is what the name implies(built on the side of a hill). It’s a little rough around the edges, but it doesn’t lack in quirks and challenges. Every hole seems to have a different unique twist, and you can play it over and over without getting bored. Although I could be biased since I live 5 minutes away. It’s really the course where I learned how to play golf, and where i didn’t feel awkward when my shots weren’t going so well. It’s laid back, and not«country club»…so if that’s what you’re looking for I wouldn’t bother. Skip the driving range here, you might as well play 9 holes and practice all your shots(for a good driving range, try Torza’s/Billy T’s/whatever it’s called now in cromwell)
