MJ’s Pizza Bar & Grill

I ordered chicken quesadillas. I kept thinking they didnt taste right. well apparently they didnt because i got food poisoning. Never again.

MJ’s is close to our home so we have dined there many times. The food is typically at or above expectations. The service has always been OK at best but recently, has started to slip. Yesterday, both slipped just a bit too far.
We ordered a med rare burger and a blackened chicken wrap on a white wrap. The burger was completely well done. This was fixed but with virtually no apology from anyone. The returned burger was re-​served with cold fries that seemed like the fries first served. Lettuce and tomato as a garnish is appropriate for a burger but not served. We then waited so long for ketchup, after the server told us she was getting it, I got up and got it myself. I almost did the same to order a beer. The wrap was tasty and the home made chips are a nice touch but the wrap was on whole wheat, not white as ordered.
The new marketing is nice but if it is paying dividends, I would encourage some training for the servers. I watched them walk in circles, doing nothing, not checking on tables and past dirty dishes over and over again.
We decided we would drive to Red Bank next time some we needed some tasty pub fare.

Good food, great prices, friendly helpful staff. if you want to have fun this is the place. If you want a place to come with the kids you can do that too. Try it!

I ordered garlic Parmesan chicken wings last night about 8:30 pm. Wings came out burnt and dried out. They appeared to have been under a heat lamp. I returned them, asking for fresh wings. Ten minutes later the waiter returned the same wings to me. When I questioned the waiter, he told me the chef said that was the only way he could cook them. I have ordered the same wings many times from MJ’s Tinton Falls location. They are always tasty.

Great service and food never had a problem with antything. The menu changes a little every few months and staff always aware of changes

I’ve been here a couple of times with my family. Food is always great here. My dad love’s the burgers. Restaurant is clean and the service was friendly. Never a long wait.

Visited MJ’s in Middletown tonight — 7÷26÷15 — as always, great to see Joanne, the manager. She is always so pleasant and professional — that’s why we all enjoy going there when she is working. Constantly walking around to be sure everyone is satisfied!

Love Desiree, craig, Brian and Tracy… killer bartenders, awesome with newbies n regulars. I come in many times a week for take out for the fam and they make me smile every time. foods always great or I wouldn’t come back as often. admittedly I’m addicted to one dish, but as a chef they’ve never not delivered on what I want.

Food really good despite the poor attitude of the bartender. She really needs to understand customers are there at lunchtime to place orders for lunch and drinks.
Food and atmosphere good overall.

Pizza is pretty good, we had the buffalo chicken and the eggplant. We also enjoyed the shrimp appetizer off the menu. Service was alright, our server only looked at us once while dropping off menus but her timing was fine with drinks and food.

I think the food was great! But it wasn’t the best Italian food I ever hade, But the service was very good!

My wife and I love this place. Great food (especially their burgers) and drink at a very reasonable price. Service is also great.

Pizza is outstanding. My friends and I ordered the penne vodka and chicken parm pizzas and were blow away!!! Delicious meals, great service, I’m definitely a fan.

Me & my fiancé like this place because it’s real food. There’s not many places to go besides chain restaurants anymore! It’s usually our go-​to when we can’t think of anywhere to eat. The food is pretty good but wish it was more consistent. Sometimes it’s killer & sometimes it’s EHH.

One of the major perks of moving to Middletown was finding MJ’s — they’ve definitely become our fave spot for casual dining. The food is always amazing (by far the best burgers and buffalo wings around), the staff is always friendly, accommodating, and attentive, and the prices are very reasonable. It’s also versatile — family friendly place perfect to bring kids, but also good for fun nights out if you want to hang out at the bar and listen to live music or watch the game. Even though they have a few different locations, it definitely doesn’t have that corporate/​cookie-​cutter chain restaurant vibe, which is also a plus. Also, no matter how busy they are you never have to wait long (if at all) for a table. When in doubt, you can’t go wrong with MJ’s!

A neighborhood bar type place with food everyone will love. At with tv’s for watching sports. Lots of activity around the bar. Wonderful bar pie and good burgers. They have gluten free pizza which was good, not the best I’ve had but good. Great beverages and good service. Would definitely return!

Some of the best pub grub in the area. Decent beer selection. The crab cake salad and nachos are stand outs.
Be warned, it is usually good for kids, but it is not always family-​friendly during football Sunday afternoons. The management is very tolerant of obnoxious drinkers and seemingly has no problem continuing to serve out of control guys screaming profanities at the TV. It doesn’t matter if you sit in the bar or the dining room, the frat atmosphere is quite audible.

A nice place for an after work beer or meal with co-​workers.

Went here on a Friday night for Dinner with my Family. When we walked in, the dining area boasted a pretty big crowd and the bar was also full. We were seated at a table in the corner by the bar, kind of an awkward spot for a table but no biggie. We ordered the nachos with chili to start off with– absolutely delish! As we were munching on that, salad was brought out– a little quick on the timing for us but whateve. Just finished the salad and nachos, table was cleared off and food was brought out.
I ordered a personal plain thin crust, pizza was good, crispy, a little different taste than I’m used to but I liked it. Mom and brother both ordered the chicken broccoli pasta dish which they enjoyed and both couldn’t close to finish. Dad ordered the MJ’s Ruben, liked it, and could only eat half… he NEVER has leftovers– it was such a huge portion!
Service was mediocre, seemed like our waitress was running around like crazy and maybe had tables on the other side because we didn’t see her often. She wasn’t very friendly either but maybe she was just stressed? Overall our experience was decent & we would probably go back. I just probably wouldn’t visit the bar, definitely an older crowd likes to hang out here.

They served me undercooked fish! I WOULD NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN! And it was still on my bill and wouldn’t take it off gross place with rude people
