This used to be Stained 1054 Bistro but is now Murphy’s Landing. The atmosphere alone is worth giving it a try. It’s in the old part of Middletown which is not my fav place to hang out. so be careful In that area,

Great atmosphere and a refreshing change from the chain restaurants that populate Middletown. The food was very good and reasonably priced. We had the Atlantic cod, chicken Madeira, and bourbon pineapple chicken for lunch; everyone really enjoyed their meals. Katie South, the manager, was very friendly and knowledgeable about the historic building and furnishings. I would definitely return!

The abundance of old, polished wood with pieces of stained glass were enough to bring us here tonight. I had high hopes for this gem finding in Middletown. The oysters on half shell were superb. Salad with the balsamic house dressing was very good. Then the side dish of rice with vegetables… the rice was way undercooked, dry crunchy… blech. The bone in ribeye tasted like fish in many spots… same grill used for both??? Our server was probably one of the best I’ve had in a long time. Loved Robbie. I will return, because I don’t believe in one-shot chances for a potentially great place. Please listen to these reviews. The future of your fine restaurant may hinge on our advice.

Vintage atmosphere and delicious food at great prices. Made it in time for happy hour, ½ price appetizers and drinks, had lobster cheese dip, oysters and crispy shrimp. All were yummy, but oysters small and semi-fresh. Girls split the lobster flatbread and devoured it. Wife and I split ribeye, cooked perfectly, very tender but a bit cold. Would go back, great good, atmosphere and value!

Great food and people, I love this place. Come to Middletown Ohio and eat here. One of the most beautiful bars in the city! We had the shrimp platter and it was delicious. If you like desert you have to try the pound cake with fried bananas. Rodney the bar tender is super friendly and Lou the chef is terrific.

Not trying hard enough with the new changes. Trying to present a classier atmosphere with table settings and staff appearance and taking burgers off the menu, but still catering to the casual clientele and chicken fingers doesn’t balance well. Menu items are inconsistent and seem to be prepared differently each time we visited and ordered the same entrée or side … Caesar salad should not be call a Caesar salad. It was iceberg lettuce with Caesar-like dressing served on the side. One visit you may get delicious dinner rolls and on another you may get not so delicious bread that was just sliced up and grilled with artificial grill butter … Your entrees will more than likely be at your table before your second bite of salad! Overall the prices seemed fair …

Loved the atmosphere — very cool place! Would be even better with a piano player or a 1 – 3 piece band/musicians. We didn’t go into the bar area, but will get to that next time. Most of the food was very good. My sister got the chicken Milanese, which she said was awesome. Another friend had the blackened Mahi, which she said was amaze-balls. However, her asparagus and my jambalaya had WAY too much salt. I had to send mine back(which I never do, but I just couldn’t eat it), which they remade and was much better. The bruschetta and cheesecake were both very good. I almost forgot about the fried macaroni and cheese — yummazing! They should offer that as an appetizer! We got the premium house wine — Josh — Chardonnay. Was very good and very reasonably priced. Service was adequate, not outstanding, but I have high expectations. I’m looking forward to going back with my husband, visiting the bar and checking out the place and the menu further.

We visit Murphy’s at least three times a month and always have great service. The food is delicious and I highly recommend the House fries and the thick cut pork chop or the Boursin Burger. The selection of craft beers is very nice and I enjoy the Queen’s Velvet every time. If you have the chance ask for Katy Jo’s section. She is not only an awesome server but a very talented artist whose art is on display throughout the main floor. Cheers

Ok… So… My wife and I came here and I fully expected to be seriously disappointed… Well to my surprise… A 1 hour dinner turned into a 5 hour date with some of the best food and drink and company I have ever known. I’ve worked in and been around the industry for years…: and not only will we return… But I think we have found a new home away from home so to speak. Megan… Our server was by far one of the most delightful and well prepared servers I have ever known. And Dustin… The fill in bar tender was not only amazing but I personally approached the GM and owners about keeping him where he belongs… Behind the bar. This place is a gem for big cities like cincinnati or Chicago or New York…: but to find it in our back yard…: in little old middletown ohio…: you have to be kidding me!!! I’ve read the review that claimed the opposite…: it’s too bad that competitors are allowed to write reviews… This place simply is fantastic!!!
