Food is great. Empanadas are made fresh and are amazing! Had a small sancocho jam packed with res, and a Cuban sandwich. Definitely a must try Dominican spot.

I was really craving empanadas, so I stopped here on my way home from work. The young girl working the counter(maybe 18 – 20, short curly hair) did not even smile at me when I walked in. I looked at her and smiled and said hello. nothing. I asked for a menu. she pointed to the counter and said«it’s right there». she looked absolutely miserable and disinterested– she truly seemed like she would rather be cleaning out a port-a-potty than taking my order, or providing me with any type of customer service whatsoever. in fact, she didn’t even seem to want to be in the same room with me. I felt SO awkward. I am sitting here waiting for my food, writing this review, and she is currently putting all the chairs up on the tables around me, as if preparing for closing, although it is only 7:45& the website says 9:00. I will never go back, or recommend this place to anyone, no matter how good the empanadas are.

I must say when I was told that the food was good I came with great expectation. However, after sitting and waiting for my appetizer with the family I was gravely disappointed. We received plantains that were fried to death. Not to worry, I’ve had worse so I picked thru what was good and tried to order fried chicken chunks and to our surprise no chicken for chicken chunks! Ok I chuck it up to it being Father’s Day and perhaps it may have been busy this day and they went thru the chicken stock… So I decided to order the baked chicken with rice and pigeon peas… Well I wasn’t let down when I thought this was going to be a bad meal. The chicken was a bit greasy and needed a little more seasoning, the rice and gandules also lacked in taste and wasn’t fluffy rather a little on the sticky side. The only thing that I enjoyed somewhat was their empanadas de pollo(chicken patties) I won’t waste anymore of your time reading this as everyone in the family also had similar problems with their food, beans lacking in flavor as well as the pernil(pork shoulder). Oh and did I mention that we were served paper towels off of a roll as table napkins? Needless to say that we will not be patronizing this establishment again. If you want good Latin Cuisine try visiting La Fonda just down the block on Rt 211 and no I’m neither a family member or paid to say that. I rate this a two out of five stars cause the waitress at least tried to be amicable and the somewhat tasty empanadas.

As a Dominican myself, it is truly difficult to find restuarants that have authentic savory food like true Dominicans make. I have to say, this place REALLY knows what they are doing. Feels like my mom’s cooking, but don’t tell her I said that! You cannot go wrong with any dish. Mhm, yum yum yum.

Great food. I’m from the city and this reminds me of good city food. I’ve tried a few places in Middletown but by far the best.

I was very disappointed. I order Chicharron De Pollo and Empanadas(beef). The chicharron was a cutlet. If someone orders an item and you are making a substitute to the dish then you should let the customer know that. Not after it comes out and ready to be bagged. The empanadas was soggy and the filling was on one side only. Rice has no flavor and very dry. WILLNOT recommend.

I really enjoy the food here, I order about 3 times a month. I usually get the baked chicken with Rice & Beans with Plantains. The food is fresh and filled with flavor. The chicken is cooked well and juicy. The taste is always consistent. The portions are big, enough so that I share a dinner plate with my son, and we are both full. The prices are just about average. They offer lunch and dinner portions, as well if you wanted to spend less. They offer homemade tropical drinks, I love the papaya drink. The restaurant its self has a cozy homebound feeling. I would recommend calling your order in for take out, the food is good, so sometimes they run out of the baked chicken, I call in my order after work.

The food was pretty good and it was at an awesome price. The staff were very friendly and attentive. It was a nice small town restaurant which made it feel nice to sit down and eat. I would recommend this location for a good bite!

A nice little hole in the wall where you always get fantastic food. Very authentic Dominican flavors. Come early because their special dishes like the Mondongo(tripe soup) and Sancocho(spanish style soup) get sold out quickly. The staff is very friendly but a little on the slow side. It’s worth the wait though. I prefer to order the food and pick it up after about 30 minutes. This way there’s no wait and i get home to chomp. Check it out, your tummy won’t regret it.

I love this place, the food is amazing. everything I’ve had at this spot from the roasted chicken, the steak, mangu and the mofongo has been delicious. the shakes as well. the mango smoothie and morir soñando are refreshing. however the downside about the restaurant is the prices have risen. the shakes initially started at $ 3 now they are $ 4.75. Also they lack a lunch special which would be extremely helpful. However they are able to do so since this is the only Domincian spot in the area. Either way they are extremely tasteful. enjoy.

Love the grood. Prices are great. The staff is friendly. The food is never greasy and always tastes fresh. My favorite Spanish restaurant. Reminds me of my old roommates cooking. She was from DR.
