Matt gave me a call to discuss a repair to the dryer for my rental house. It was an old dryer and the repair was more than the dryer was worth. He recommended buying a new one instead and also called me back to say that the washer was going out and that he wouldn’t repair that either if it was his money. This shows incredible honesty since they didn’t make any money on the deal as they don’t sell washers and dryers. I highly recommend using them.

Terrific people … called regarding a noise that one of our dishdrawers was making, on the phone, Matt walked me through removing the motor rotor assembly from the drawer and swapping it with the one from the other drawer, which took care of the noise, so he ordered me a replacement which I’ll be able to install myself easily. I think most places would have just sent a tech out for $$$ to diagnose, and then back for $$$ to reinstall, so it’s nice to experience some good old fashioned customer care and make the whole thing easier in the process. Highly recommended.

We bought a Bosch dishwasher from an appliance store in East Providence and about a week after installation I noticed that the door wouldn’t lie flat when I opened it. The appliance store referred me to Rinfret for warranty service and they did a superb job fixing it. The two guys that came introduced themselves, made a beeline for the dishwasher, and within 20mins had the door working perfectly. I have no complaints with the service and it was under warranty so it was free, so I’d be more than happy using them again for any future warranty work. However, be aware that they charge $ 149 for labor right from the get-go(it was on my invoice) if you’re using them for non-warranty work.

Alas, the time has come for a Rinfret’s service call. If you’re living in the Newport area, it’s still the place all folks recommend. I felt up for a second chance. They’re trending in the right direction. Needed a dryer cord upgrade, from a 3 to 4 prong plug that’s in the new house. $ 30 part, but $ 150 for house call and labor. Ouch. And it only took him 40 min to complete the task(no rewiring either). Double ouch. The dryer is fixed up, but it seems the repair wasn’t as difficult as some blogs made it out to be. Serviceman went straight to work after I showed him the area. No explanation wanted or needed. I pointed at the appliance and he beat feet. Good service over the phone too, including a follow-up reminder of the house call.

Its really too bad that people don’t write a review until something goes wrong. I am guilty because I should’ve given them a good review a long time ago. The previous review is ONE person that has had ONE bad experience. I highly doubt the secretary would hang up on someone for no reason. Anytime I have had to deal with her she is always pleasant and personable. As far as the credit thing goes, I find that hard to believe. It sounds like maybe a misunderstanding on both parts. I have dealt with them so many times, in office and home visits, and they have always been fair. I have been a customer for a long time and I know MANY of their other long time customers, which are all more than satisfied. You will not find another appliance repair company with more expertise or better techs. They are always knowledgeable and always friendly. My appliances are always fixed quickly and properly. Can’t say enough good about them! Highly recommend! Do not let the previous review prevent you from using them. Use them and you won’t be disappointed! BTW there is ONE secretary and TWO owners in the office, so chances are Jon S. didn’t speak to a manager. He probably spoke to an owner.
