Rocky Brook Orchard

Rocky Brook Orchard is the perfect place for a fall outing. I’ve been coming here for many years. They have all the usual varieties of apples such as Honey Crisp, Empire, Macintosh, Cortland, as well as many delicious unusual varieties such as Ginger Gold, Rockstar, Mutsu and Fiesta to name a few. They also have yellow and white peaches, pears (regular and Asian) and quinces. The owner and staff are super knowledgeable and friendly. When you arrive they are happy to review the orchard map and point out where various varieties are. If you need it they supply wagons and fruit pickers for those out of reach apples. The orchard itself is lovely and there is a gazebo in a clearing at the top of the property for picnicking.

Rocky Brook Orchard is a great place to go apple picking with your family and friends on Aquidneck Island. There are 60+ varieties of apples that are ready to be picked in varying times of the season, as well as a few pear and quince trees as well.
Bags (as of Fall 2013) are priced at $ 7 for small, $ 17 for medium, and $ 30 for large. With a medium sized bag we had enough apples to share between 3 adults and 2 children.
My young nephews (ages 2 and 3) had a blast picking apples, and some branches were low enough that they could pick their own. The trees are color coated and labeled with the variety for when each tree is ripe for picking. We all had a great time finding our favorite varieties and discovering new ones as well. I recommend this orchard for pick your own apples!
