$ 7 for a wagon ride and whatever pumpkin from the patch I want? Can’t beat that with a stick! Lots of very large pumpkins left in the fields, while the monsters at the farm store are only 40 cents a pound. That’s 20 cents a pound cheaper than other farms. The farmers and store staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating as well. Some local farms have forgotten the importance of customer service, become too commercial. This place has restored my faith in local agriculture.

I ate 12 of the apple cider donuts. TWELVE. Great fresh farm food… and donuts.

This farm is around the corner. They have really great tomatoes and I couldn’t wait to get home and make a tomato sandwich. The zucchini and eggplant are perfection. The peaches are incredibly ripe and the mini blueberry pie didn’t last long. Run, don’t walk before the summer ends.

Eating the last of my Sycamore Farms tomatoes right now… If you love tomatoes, this is a farm not to miss! Dozens of heirloom tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, tomatillos, plum tomatoes, and more! My kids love shopping with me since there are always freshly made baked goods, a kids corner with lots of farm related books, and a weekly children’s program. Sometimes later in the day they are sold out of an item, so I’ll be shopping early when I can.

My favorite Greenmarket farmers opened a stand on their farm up in Middletown. It is a wonderful place to buy all the veggies I love plus amazing baked goods. I suggest folks in the Middletown area go to the stand on the farm to get some corn, tomatoes, basil, etc and buy some cinnamon donuts while you are at it! They also have a wonderful program to help educate young children about where their food comes from and they will let you take a tour of the farm if you contact them in advance.
