I work overnight and sometimes I just want to grab something to eat for my lunch break at work and not have to worry about putting something together. I saw reviews for this place and thought wings and a salad sounded good. I ordered the items to go. I ordered a small Caesar salad(about 7 dollars) and garlic parm wings(apx 9 dollars and on the recommendation of the guy taking my order). I’ll be fair and say I’ve spent worse money than what I spent on those wings even though they were just naked wings with cheese clumped on them the wings themselves were decent… but that salad… there’s no way 7 dollars worth of lettuce was in that container. That was so disappointing. I placed my order 20 mins before going to pick it up and when I got there the place was totally empty and i still had to wait another 15. If I ever try this place again I guess I will be dining in or not at all, i don’t know, maybe that would mean a better experience.

Very casual and comfortable place! The TwoNineNine Burger was excellent — a fresh made hamburger patty topped with pulled pork and an onion ring on a Brioche bun. Can’t wait to visit again and try something else!

Love this place! Service is the best! The wings are to die for! Not too many quality options in Middletown. Definitely would hold 299 as Best in Class!!!

We stopped here while passing through Delaware. The food was great! We each had the crab bisque and it was fantastic. My husband got the crab cake sandwich, he said it was one of the best crab cakes he has ever had. I got a burger and it was really good… A nice toasted bun, fresh hamburger(not frozen), thick cut bacon and a big pile of yummy fries! So so good. The only things that bugged me were that we both wanted a bowl of soup but they brought us each a cup because they ran out. The crab cake was supposed to have a sauce but it had none because they were out so we had to ask for a sauce(one should have been offered without us having to ask). And lastly, there was a DJ there playing music that was insanely loud! I get that it was later on a Friday night, but maybe they could wait until 10 to turn it up that loud? His music was fine, just too loud for the space.

I’ve only eaten here a few times but they food was spectacular! You can really tell they put time and effort into the meals. I don’t even like sprouts but they were so good! And the Bailey’s cake is amazing!

I came in there a two weeks ago for karaōke. I had alot of fun, the host were excellent. The food was too. I got the french dip pannini. Very tasty and served with fries. They have good beer selection and there drink specials are not only well priced but great tasting too. The chef came out to greet me an ask if I was enjoying my meal. I love that, its something you’d expect at a fine dining establishment. Everything is very clean, the bathrooms are well mantained and they even have banquet facilties. But there is nothing in 299 that tells you its«Old School» as it emplys in its name. I kinda expected to find mabie 80’s-90’s rap posters on the walls or anything that would make me remember my life growning up «Old School» with A tribe called quest, beatie boys, n.w.a. etc chotcheys hung around the bar an such but, insted the place is just blah. Dated look. But a giant spiderman cardboard cut out hanging from the ceiling in front of what I assume is there V.I.P. section. Not sure what they were thinking when they hung that there??? I understand they have new owners and are planning to go in a new dirrection so… when I return next time I hope the inside id updated an such.

All you bad reviewers, give this place another try. There is a new chef in the house. I’ve been here a few times and my food has always been good! Especially the cheesesteak! Candace, our server and bartender, was very attentive and friendly. This places rocks it several nights a week with live bands and a dj… and every other Wed night they host karaōke. Even the staff sings! Great place!

Saturday night and the service was extremely slow and the food was not good at all. Cheese steak was burnt, onion rings greasy and unseasoned, flatbread pizza had no flavor. Really wanted to like this as a local eatery but badly disappointed.

Love this place! The food is tasty and they have great specials. I love their brunch, and I always get their Eggs Benedict. The celebration cake is delicious for dessert. You can’t beat ½ price burgers on Tuesdays :) The staff is super friendly and they always make sure we have a great experience. With the new projector screen, it will be great for football season :)

Where do I start. Numerous draft beers were unavailable with a lame excuse about the holiday impacting the delivery schedule(9 days after the holiday). Prime rib was supposed to be Sunday special… again not available… same excuse. Stuffed chicken breast was a special but dried out and no flavor. Mussles, crab meat, shrimp and pasta dish came without the Mussles and crab meat. Corona beer was ordered. Guess what… sorry all out!!! Burger with BBQ Pork was ordered medium and was dried out and no BBQ flavor at all. For all the«don’t haves» and not so good meals they offered deserts on the house. Only bright spot of the evening although the carrot cake was dry. We won’t be going back and my guess is they won’t be open long.

Just opened this summer, food not worth the trip, service very slow even thought place was half empty. Won’t be returning. Same location had had several turnovers of owners. There is nothing to draw people in.
