The staff in the store is quite nice, they are helpful and will walk you over to the products when you ask for direction which is a huge plus because it can be confusing with all the products on the shelf. The location for me can’t be beat and it has pretty much everything I need for my day to day hardware needs without the hassle of going to one of their huge competitors. I find tools, garden stuff and the nick knacks I need easily. I go here at least 4 times a month. I had my problems with this place in the past and I made the problems known with a survey. I was quickly contacted by the district manager and he was very interested in my problem and how they could make it right. That impressed me quite a bit and I was eager to see if there were changes and in my mind there were. I think a lot of the negative reviews are a bit unrealistic. A person cannot expect this place to have everything a huge Home Depot or Lowes has. It is 1⁄10th the size. But for a neighborhood place it has what I need 90% of the time and is easy to get in and out quick. I see the benefit in that and I am very thankful that it’s here.

I called to see if they carried something and I got an abrupt no followed by a hang up. Even though I still had another question, I made sure to call somewhere else. It’s little things like that that lose you business!!! Practice better customer service and maybe business would be up.

Long live sears. As much as the service can suck here, it kind of has an old timey feel to the whole place. I love their store hours and it is so convenient to have a large general hardware store in the area. I really dont like driving down 208 to lowes or going to home depot. This place doesn’t have everything but it is so convenient to have down the road. I am cringing at the idea sears is going out of business.

Looks like Sears doesn’t read Unilocal reviews! Checkout lines are still slower then the time it takes to completely pour molasses out of a jar! So sad…

About the only thing I go here for is to get salt that’s it. The cashiers are pretty bad. Don’t go here just go to a home depot.

The so called expert in the Garden Dept. was an 18 year old girl who had been working there less than 3 months. Enough said. The only reason for going there is if you know exactly what you want and live nearby. Typical Sears. The products aren’t bad but the service is deplorable and if you need help, you might have better luck screaming in the parking lot than getting it inside.

Aside from the fact that they sell Craftsman tools and carry a large selection of them, this place cannot be beat for how quiet it is. I usually use the one in the Paramus Park mall, but finding a spot, hauling my rear end upstairs and searching can sometimes take forever. Enter Sears Hardware of Midland Park… great selection of everything you can think of. Carries small odds and ends that the big box places don’t even carry, which is a huge plus. The staff… well, they work there, that is indeed true. The cashiers are usually friendly, and if you need help, yes it is tough. However, usually you know why you’re walking into a hardware store, you need something specific… unless you’re me, I like to walk around and day dream!

This location is close to home, that’s why I shop there(or attempt to!), but the employees walk away and look for busy work to do when you’re looking for help. They are not aware of their own supplies and they don’t have what I’m looking for, or either spend time looking around for things as if they were customers, too. It is hard to find an employee who asks, «Can I help you?» It seems no one is eager to help and even went so far as to avoid trying to help(which I really did need). I only suggest visiting this location if you know what you need and don’t need any help finding it. I can’t say anything good about the customer service.

I had an issue with an employee who was very rude. The manager and my sales associate Joe were so professional and courteous about the matter that they went above and beyond the call of duty to make up for the one bad apple. I have not experienced this level of customer service and dedication to customer satisfaction in years! Even the young men who work the loading dock apologized for their colleagues behavior! Class and service– I won’t shop any where else! Kudos to Midland Park Sears– to bad all companies aren’t run like this location– the world would be a better place!
