Our crab regoons were good but it tasted like it was seasoned with Tabasco sauce. Not very good.

The food at this place is not what i would call real Thai food. It has a more Americanized twist to it so the food taste nothing like what they should. My family is originally from Thailand, so i have tons of experience with eating Thai food. Pad thai was bland, the papaya salad wasn’t good, the curry was okay. The only good thing we ordered that was probably worth it was the mango bubble tea. A couple days later, my boyfriend’s credit card was overcharged $ 26. Who mistakenly overcharges by $ 26!!! We asked to speak to the manager several times by calling since we were from out of town but we were always told«he’s not available». It took 2 – 3 months before we received a check in the mail which we couldn’t even cash because they spelled my boyfriends name completely wrong. Through the whole process, we probably spoke to the manager once. All the other times were with the waiters and waitresses so they could pass the word along. This all took place during the summer of 2015. I wasn’t much of a fan of this place. Will never ever return due to the unprofessionalism. Never even got an apology.

This place is quite a gem. A friend told my husband about it and we love Thai food so we decided to give it a try. The restaurant is small but our group of 6 fit comfortably. It’s brightly painted and clean. Service was great and accommodating as well. But the food, well the food is amazing! I ordered the green curry with shrimp and jasmine rice at the medium spice level. My husband ordered the green curry with chicken and sticky rice at the hot slice level. We were very satisfied with the flavors, spice levels, and portions(enough for 2 servings). We also ordered the pad thai which was also delicious. Save room for dessert as well. They offer a fried banana worth vanilla ice cream dessert as well as a sticky rice with fresh mango dessert, we ordered both. They were both yummy but I favored the banana a little more. The cherry on top was the bubble drinks. They’re basically a fruit smoothie with tapioca pearls on the bottom, they are practically a meal in itself but we had to try one. Mango is an excellent flavor to try but there are also other varieties. Their green tea also tastes freshly brewed with high quality tea and comes out in a neat Japanese style tea pot and cup. I highly recommend this place, we’ll definitely be back again.

Food is great, some of the best in the area. Veggies are fresh and cooked perfectly. Love the cucumber salad — though it’s expensive for a bowl of veggies. Tofu anything here is fantastic. Really like how easy it is to get something spicy and tasty.

I feel like I keep trying to like this place, especially when you consider there is no good ethnic food in Midland. However, for the third time in a row I have ordered take out from them and gotten home to find that even after verifying my order at pick up they have given me the wrong food. In addition to the wrong food, they have no consistent heat level — some days hot has no flavor and other days medium will melt your face off. In addition, when eating at the restaurant the service is very slow and they prioritize takeout orders over the on house orders After getting the wrong food again today I have declared defeat and I am done trying to like this place.

Food was quite tasty and when they warn you that ‘medium’ is actually quite hot, take their word for it! It’s just so-so, decent for Midland, MI, but probably wouldn’t be my first choice if there was any other thai place around.

This is one of my favorite lunchtime stops. The curry fried rice with chicken is always enough for two meals and its filling and quick. It’s a cute little spot in midland and always busy at lunch so arrive early!

First of all, if you are expecting an authentic Thai restaurant, you should seek out something a little further south. However, that does not mean Thai fusion is something to be leery about! While the interior itself is very small and seats only a scant amount of people at a time, it is cheery and bright. I’ve been multiple times and have had great servers each time. I love the Thai iced tea and the tapioca drinks! Most of the dishes are awesome, while some are a lite heavy on the basil and anise. You pick your protein-chicken, beef, tofu, or even just veggies to go along with your dish. The Golden Noodle is great, and the soups can be ordered in large pots to share with your group! Overall, consistently formidable experiences.

First time I went there it was a 1 star experience. I got the pad see ew. It was trash. They used pasta noodles(or maybe the thai noodles you get at meijer) s instead of broad rice noodles, the sauce was waaaay too sweet, the chicken was not cut properly. The second time I went there it was more like 3 stars. I got a curry this time. Much better, maybe even worth trying again. The first time was soon after the place opened, maybe they were still learning how to cook Thai? Prices are high(maybe $ 11 to 15 for an entre), esp given it is mid-michigan.

It is very good Thai food. If you are looking for authentic Thai in Midland, this is the place. I personally love the noodle dishes.

Stopped in for a quick early dinner with the family. They close down after lunch service and reopen at 4:30 so keep that in mind if you are off schedule a bit. For apps we did the chicken satay and the Thai crab wontons. Satay is very flavorful with a nice sweet/hot peanut dipping sauce. The star of the show for me was the little side of quick pickled cucumbers and peppers. I could easily manage a plate of those with some shaved beef. The wontons are also excellent. The cream cheese inside is sweet, but not overly so. The dipping sauce is also sweet but is combined with a nice vinegar hit as well. My entrée was mango stir fry. I ordered it with ground chicken and at medium hot. Since it is «Thai hot» medium is usually right where I like it. The ground chicken, while not on the menu as a protein choice for this dish ended up being a nice textural contrast to the sliced mango, peppers, onions, and basil. The was the most recent of several really good meals at Basil. Serving sizes are very generous so you will likely end up with takeout boxes. You could also very easily order a few dishes to share around family style here so every one gets to try a few different entrees.

Surprisingly good Thai food in Midland and excellent customer service. The chicken satay, fresh rolls and yellow curry were all excellent. Be careful ordering the hot level food as it is very spicy! No alcoholic beverages are on the menu but they have bubble teas. I’d return here.

This was one of a couple places recommended to us during our stay in town. We were there early in the evening and sat outside. The service was good and the menu fairly extensive. In ordered the Pad Thai with chicken and it was quite good. Large portions for everyone at my table regardless of what they ordered. Be wary though, the spice runs hot here. Our waiter told us that was the case so it wasn’t a shock but just be aware if they don’t mention it. Overall I would definitely recommend Basil Thai. 4.2 stars

This is for the owner who says he has tried to reach me via my reviews. I have no way on trip advisor of responding to you, so I cannot. I am not giving you different ratings. I am giving you a 1 and that is it. Nothing more. I don’t know why you are cutting and pasting my reviews. They are the same. Your food is good-period. I never said it wasn’t. It is your service and prices that are out of control. Your employees charged me 11.95 for a waterfall salad. You said that that is your dinner price. Well I was there at 1:30 and that is what I was charged. They must have overcharged me. And yes, your service was awful– no disputing that. As an owner, you should stop arguing with the customer(me) and perhaps offer an apology for bad service. You don’t do that– instead you argue. The waitress was not good and she embarrassed and offended me. Instead of attacking me, you should be apologizing. And no, I was not going to cause a scene in your tiny restaurant by asking to see the manager. I am not stupid.

I’m a bit indifferent to this place. I’ve tried it a few times. The Phở was not that great. The beef seemed like it was really cheap quality. Greyish almost, very odd texture. The Pad Thai is not your typical Pad Thai; was made with a sweet and sour sauce. I wouldn’t order it again. I’ve also eaten the the Pad Ka Pao with chicken; pretty good but a bit sweet. Lunch prices seem to be a bit pricey for the quality. I do love their Thai Iced Tea. This place seems to be pretty popular though. It’s small, there isn’t much seating, and no place to wait for a table. Last time, the hostess had to get my cell number to call me when a table was ready. What do you do for 5 – 10 minutes in Midland while waiting for a table = go back to your car(in 0 degree weather) or walk to Verizon. Either options are inconvenient.

This place is the only Thai Restaurant that I know of in Midland. Their Pad Thai is a MUST-NOT-HAVE as it is not traditional PadThai and the noodles looked pink and did not taste so good. However, the other food that I have tried there is pretty delicious. I recommend any of the curries. For a noodle dish, I recommend the Pad See Ew. The place is clean. The food is fresh. The space inside the restaurant is somewhat small. The service could be better. What I especially like about this restaurant is that, like other fine establishments, you are asked how spicy you would like a dish, using a numerical score from 1 – 5 or 1 – 10. If you ask for the highest level of spice, it is REALLYSPICY. Not sure who that is catered for because I do love my spice, but even I cannot handle it. In any case, I like the option of being able to choose my spice level.

I’m new to Thai food, but I have to say, I love this place. The veggies are so fresh and abundant. Nothing is greasy or heavy. Portions are huge. The Kaow Pad Sawan(Heavenly Fried Rice) was — heavenly. The packaging is great for carry-out.

We went for dinner here last night with another couple and their 2 young boys, it was the first visit for all of us. The food: excellent. service: excellent. The chef even made a rhino and brontosaurus out of carrot for the boys! Very friendly staff. I’m only giving 4 stars because the curries are served in very full bowl and tend to spill when the server brings them to you. Also, the place is very small, it is not a place to take a party of more than 6 people. The portions are huge! Food is fresh and delicious.

I’m not a Thai expert so take this review with a grain of salt. .. or a dash of curry if you’d like. We had two different entrees(a pork stir fry and a noodle-based chicken dish) and both were very good: distinctive flavors and VERYFRESH vegetables. I ordered the«mild» and it turned out to be too mild. So the waitress graciously grabbed some more ‘heat’ from the kitchen to dial it up a notch. The décor is a little limited — it’s a small space so don’t expect«fine dining». The wait Staff more than made up for the ambience by being prompt and attentive. Midland MI is the chain-restaurant capital of the world(don’t you just love hyperbole that can’t be disproven?) and BTB is a breath of fresh air. I will definitely go back.
