Worst Starbucks experience I have ever had. Went through drive through about 9:30am on a Thursday and the speaker stated«what can i get for you». I replied with a «Grande Mocha». Long pause, I asked if they got my order and a new voice asked«what would you like», I said a «Grande mocha», after a much shorter pause but still longer than it should be a different voice said«I have a Venti Latte» for you, is that all?” I then asked if they were distracted back there because that was not my order. The last voice then asked what I would like, I said a Grande mocha. she gave me the price and asked me to drive through. I got to the window and a young lady who did not look up from her phone simply stuck her hand out the window, I gave her my card, she ran it and returned it then closed the window. 30 seconds later the window opened and she handed me my drink and then the window closed again. As I was driving back to Dallas I looked up the store phone number and tried 3 separate times to discuss with the manager but each time I asked to speak with the manager, i was placed on hold, then shortly after the line was hung up. I have never had this type of experience with Starbucks before

Ok yes this location has the poorest rating I’ve ever seen for a Starbucks. Yes it’s an older location that doesn’t have enough seating inside. Yes some of the workers here can be a bit edgy. And yes due to the location it can be quite busy at times. Can anything redeem this poor store? Probably not. But it’s still worth checking out. Here’s why. Experienced baristas. At this store there are no less than 3 black apron baristas known as coffee masters. Effectively the navy seals of the baristas. They know more about coffee than you’d ever want to. One of them has worked as a barista over 10 years! That’s experience that’s hard to find. In addition there’s other employers here very dedicated to coffee making. My suggestion: come in the afternoon or evening. It’s less hectic and that’s when you’ll get the best drinks. Morning shift is notorious for rushing stuff. Come inside. Baristas hate drive thru. It’s a fact. Plus if you come inside you can personally connect with the baristas. Be friendly. Try to establish a friendly relationship with the people making your drink(but don’t be creepy! Too many weirdos around here…). Baristas feed off other people’s positivity. If your passionate about coffee and show it, chances are you’ll get the best latte you’ve ever had from a Starbucks. Atmosphere. Other Starbucks around town joking refer to this location as the«ghetto store». Ok so it’s kind of true. The store is located on the south side. So you’ll see homeless and thuggish people occasionally. But there’s a upside. This is probably the chillest Starbucks you’ll ever visit. All kinds of demographics hang out here. There’s even a regular(casual)chess club that meets here. By far the least preppy Starbucks I’ve been too, and for a lot of people that’s a huge plus. So should you visit this Starbucks? I guess it depends on you. If you just want your venti skinny vanilla latte to go, you probably won’t be impressed. But if you’re looking for a chill place just to hangout in the evenings and get on friendly terms with the baristas you won’t find anywhere else in this area. There’s a reason I’ve worked here for almost a year and haven’t quit/transferred. Oh and if you want a really good drink you can ask for Josh.

I’ve been to Starbucks when they’ve made my drink wrong or the customer service wasn’t amazing, but this was hands down the WORST Starbucks location I’ve ever been to. I went in and was super friendly to the guy up front. He was so beyond rude to me after I placed my «complicated drink order.» I ordered 2 grande strawberry acai refreshers, a grande passion tea with berry hibiscus juice instead of water, a birthday cake pop, a peppermint cake pop, and a breakfast sandwich. They messed up all three of my drinks, and when I nicely asked them to fix them they were incomprehensibly rude to me and laughing to eachother. They gave me the wrong cake pops, and I waited 15 minutes for my breakfast sandwich — when it came out to me it was literally burnt to a crisp. The only person who was nice to me was Sarai. There was another young guy there who seemed nice, but I never spoke to him. There is no reason for service to be so awful in a location as empty as a ghost town.

Three times in a row my order has been incorrect. I blame the old hag YELLING from behind the corner to the guy behind the register while customers are ordering. He is constantly having to apologize for her and it obviously makes it difficult for him to listen to the customer. This place needs new management asap.

Everytime i go through the drivethru and ask for food it’s barely warmed up. Make sure to tell them to hest your food longer. The service is ok. Not great

I want to know why this Starbucks in Midland is ran so poorly? If I go inside you see many people doing nothing and it still takes forever. Now sitting in the drive thru two cars in front of me one of which is getting their order and I haven’t moved in over ten minutes. If there was a closer Starbucks like what I am use too I would go. This Starbucks wouldn’t survive in an actual city. No one knows any better that it’s awful.

I’ve been to this location three times now, and to say the least, I’m a little underwhelmed. Although I understand that this is a very busy location due to its close proximity to the interstate, I will say that it has the potential to get better. THEBAD: Very slow when it comes to drive-thru. When I say slow, I’m talking about slower than molasses out here. OMG, if you see the line of cars at 2PM backed all the way out to the point where you can’t park into the parking lot for the other stores on the right of Starbucks, there is a problem. Also, customer service is so-so. During my recent visit, I encountered a barista that was dressed with her breasts nearly pushing out of her apron(not that I minded) yet had an attitude that she didn’t want to be there. Folks, you are in Midland where the locals, travelers and oil employees just want coffee to assist them with their long days. If you are having a bad day, just fake it until you make it, OK? Everyone else will understand. THEGOOD: The product is consistent and quite good. I’ve never had to send an order back, nor did I think that it was rushed and made substandard. The venue itself is quite comfortable, and clean. Overall, this location has its pluses and minuses. Although there is a night and day difference between this location and the one on Midkiff & Wadley 3 – 4 miles away(a very enthusiastic Starbucks, FYI), there is potential for improvement. Not a bad location for a quick caffeine jolt when heading to El Paso or Dallas, yet be ready to wait in a long, long line when it comes to the drive-thru and baristas that have an «oh well, whatever» attitude when dealing with them on the inside.

This is by far the slowest SB ever. I order 4 items and they gave me them one at a time. It took 20 min took get my order. Wow crazy experience.

I should’ve checked reviews before stopping here. The staff looked confused when I ordered a simple vanilla coffee straight off the board with no special modifications. Took forever to get it even though I was the only one there. When it arrived it was watered down. On top of all that the palace was generally dirty.

This is literally the worst starbucks I have ever been to. I’ve been here several times with coworkers on the way out of town. First of all the store is supposed to open at 5am. On two occasions I have been in just before 6am and they are not ready to serve. The first time, the door was locked and the girl behind the counter would not even let us in! The second time, I ordered a drink and the three women fought about who had to make it. Tell you what girls– I’ll do it if this is too hard for you. Another time I went on a late Saturday morning and waited in line forever. The guy in front of me asked the barista what the drip coffee was and she didn’t know what he was talking about. She acted like he made up the term«drip coffee.» When it was finally my turn I ordered an iced coffee. The guy working the espresso bar asked me what was in it… If you can avoid this place do it. If this location didn’t have the overrated Starbucks name plastered on the front, I guarantee it would already be closed.

They take forever and totally killed my lead on my drive to El Paso. Bummer. On the return drive, there were flies everywhere(YUCK!) and it took the barista longer than it should have to pour two drip coffees. Since its right off of I 20, I suppose I’ll be back, but grudgingly. As a former SBUX barista, they shame the Starbucks name.

Sadly I agree with all the other reviewers. This truly was the worst Starbucks that I have ever experienced. With 5 employees behind the counter, not one was able to acknowledge us as we walked in and stood at the register. It did not look particularly clean. I guess whe you are the only Starbucks in town, it doesn’t matter if you don’t even come close to meeting expectations.

The staff was nice, but the place was a mess… trashy. BUT it’s the only one between here and El Paso… that I’m aware of. Used to be a pretty decent place to stop.

NOTE: If you’re on the road, keep going! Drive the extra miles to Las Cruces and stop at the store at Valley/Rigsby! It’ll be worth the wait! This Midland store is quite possibly the worst Starbucks I’ve ever visited! I was on a road trip from Dallas to Los Angeles. This was the first open Starbucks I found with easy highway access. I wanted my fix, and went inside to order. Venti sugar-free vanilla iced coffee and an old-fashion doughnut. I had a discount code to use, and told the barista. She couldn’t figure out how to write my order on the cup. Couldn’t ring it into the register. Couldn’t understand that I had a discount code from my gold card. I asked her to get her manager… turns out that he was standing there within earshot the entire time doing NOTHING! Long story short, they botched every aspect of my order. I asked for a refund, the manager/shift lead argued my drink was nearly done, I explained I didn’t want it anymore, and he finally gave me my money back, which was thrown at me(literally)! The barista was new, and hadn’t been trained. The shift lead, he just didn’t give a care about anything. After speaking to a horrified representative at corporate, who resolved the issue well, I called and spoke to the assistant manager to follow up a few days after. He was the rudest, most disrespectful jackass of a manager I’ve ever encountered. No apology, and tried to blame me for the issue and for the subsequent resignations of the 2 employees from my visit. Blame your issues on your customers… that’s the way to run your business! NOT!

Reviews are true. Crazy Starbucks. The people behind the counter make more noise than all the customers in the coffee shop. This reminds of small town corporate jobs where employees do nothing but gather in groups and talk stories from Bravo TV, etc. Man, I really wasn’t interested in the pregnancy progress of the female employees and other family myths. Also, keep in mind that a lot of customers do some business/work, meet people and trying to be productive. Well, good luck in this establishment. In the customer area there are like 100 boxes from products. I guess they use 20% of dining area as storage!!! Next, this reminded me of taco bell. Employees which are off on this day are coming to the store to hand out for hours at the end of the counter with the currently working crew. Hey, we got a nice group already. This Starbucks need major change. In addition this location must have the slowest Wi-Fi ever.

I hope Starbucks reads this because they need to change the name of this location to Starbunks! I am convinced this is the worst Starbucks location in Midland possibly Texas. They never cease to disappoint. They’ve been out of soy for almost a week. Hello, there’s a Walmart right across the street. How about putting up a sign in the window and at the drive thru? You cannot back out of the drive thru once you’re in. I was there on Tuesday an they didn’t have soy but they had their stock piled up in the seating area. About five of the girls standing around chatting so I asked the«floating» manager, who is always great & I forget her name, «what happened to the soy?» She had to get up from her meeting and look for it herself, then a helpful young man named Julio went to help while the ladies all stood around gabbing. I went in again today, Friday, and still no soy not even an apology. I’m about to write this store off. As you can tell I frequent the establishment quite often so it’s a bid let down when they don’t have the supplies necessary to make a soy latte.

NOT friendly! I stood in line with 2 people in front of me, all waiting to order while the 2 women chatted with there friend. When they looked up they gave a smug look and then started asking for orders. I ordered soy and watched her make it… They never put soy on the cup so I stopped her and she said«I don’t have a soy order»… I explained you can pour that and have to remake it or you can just steam some soy please … NOTFRIENDLY… Please everyone working there find another place to work!!!

Saw this Starbucks on the way to Alpine and turned around to get a coffee. We had a $ 2.60 eGift card that we tried to use from our phone but the employee working told us we had to register our card first even though there was a bar code in the email. We were slightly frustrated and had settled on paying cash(which wasn’t a big deal at all!) and the super friendly employee told us our drink was on her. I know it’s something small, but it was really nice and unexpected. Great customer service Starbucks! My boyfriend says high five!
