3.5 stars. Small, but cozy. Really big portions. Food didn’t take too long(especially on an early Saturday morning with an all you can eat breakfast buffet. Had the veggie skillet and it was hot and tasted great with fresh veggies. Not sold on the pancakes(I think I let mine get cold, so don’t hold this against the establishment). My server was very sweet and she checked on me often. I left there satisfied!

Despite its greasy-spoon feel and antiquated décor, Lisa’s Diner is actually a fantastic place for breakfast. Sometimes the best places to grab a good, affordable meal are the ones where the waitress don’t have uniforms, the TV is 30 years old, and you can taste the three thousand other meals that were cooked in the skillet before yours. I like to refer that as the«legacy glazing.» At Lisa’s Diner, everything is glazed in that wrong-side-of-the-tracks, meat and potatoes aura. And that’s just fine. It’s kind of like eating in a Miller High Life commercial – there’s nothing fancy about it besides the simple fulfillment it provides. And that’s A-OK in our book. We’ve been to many a breakfast joint. Some are fancy. Some are modern. And some are just what they are – diners. If you go to Lisa’s Diner don’t expect to be overwhelmed or underwhelmed. You’ll understand when you get in. The coffee is coffee. The service is service. The hash browns are crispy, hearty, and hot. The biscuits and gravy will fill you up enough for a long day on the job. The wraps are just bigass breakfast burritos that you will probably be taking home for lunch. Brent got an omelet and didn’t complain. That’s impressive. For this reason, Lisa’s Diner in Midlothian gets a hearty rating of 3.75 Brent Faces.

This place is SMALL looking from the street. If you are looking for it and you blink at the wrong time you will miss it and you really don’t want to miss this place. I am glad that I discovered it. Came here for an early breakfast and we were having difficulty deciding where we wanted to go for breakfast as we were looking to find something new I am pleased that we found this anti-chain that are getting harder and harder to come by in the suburbs. The interior was a little worn but it had some great personality along with some great personalities serving us and working there! The prices are reasonable, my omelette was really good. I think I am going to have to start fabricating reasons to get out to Midlothian so I can stop here here more often. Unfortunately we really do not get ut into this direction much at all.

Went here for breakfast today, place is small, we had to back track to find it. It appears to be family owned and operated, everyone was very friendly, and the food was great. I had the pumpkin pancakes which were awesome, since we don’t live in the area and found the reviews for this place on Unilocal,we took the ride and it was well worth the trip. We will be back.

I’ve been here a few times and have had bad experiences. I figured I would give them a second and third chance but once again was disappointed, always dirty cups and silverware with the owner not caring about those issues. I asked if the ham was off the bone the waitress told me yes and when I got it, guess what??? A big old piece of canned ham then they argued telling me it was off bone!!! If your a hillbilly and like to eat with dirty dishes and utensils then this is the place for you and the place is dirty

This is my favorite restaurant in Midlothian. The food is delicious with good size portions. The servers are very nice. They always have different events for the holidays that are family friendly. I have only gone for breakfast but I’ve never been disappointed. Not sure if it is still cash only but if it is there is an ATM directly across the street. This restaurant has a small town feel. Midlothian is a town of about 12,000. I believe it is family owned.

Nice little place with good food. Good prices and a nice staff. The food taste like my grandmother makes. It’s easy to miss because it’s a small place but I think add’s to the mystique of it.

The Diner is a great place to eat Breakfast, Brunch and Lunch, great food and menu, tasty, low prices for most meals that are under $ 10, friendly staff, good for family outings, children, groups and just regular dining/eating out. They have specials, a seafood one on Friday and one on Sunday. All in all, a great place to eat and dine out, esp. for Breakfast.

Family run business is a + for me. Friendly and it has a small home town feel. Food is good and for the most part reasonably priced. Seems to have a steady flow of regulars based on the open conversations that gives the place a little extra charm.

Homey on the inside. A bit small, but what do you expect. And would you believe real home made food??? Try it.

this place is very cozy. it’s got that small town family feel. My parents have lived in this area for over 10 years and my Pop’s barely tried it for the first time this year, so he then took us and I have to say, I was pleased. I always forget this place exists but this may be my first option over Keystone across the street now. Prices are great, food is great, menu is extensive and have some creative options, so even though it is a diner, their options are little beyond typical diner fare. I’ve only been here for breakfast but would love to go back for lunch cause their sandwich choices looked delish. Also an added bonus, portions are not ginormous. portions are just right.

You can’t beat The Diner for great diner fare. Try the fabulous artichoke omlet & terrific chicken fried steak and biscuits. Great people, prices & chow.
