I used to love going here until they started changing prices on me the last 3 times I have gone in. I also had an appointment with 3 of my friends and instead of getting us all in they took a walk-in first which defeats the purpose of an appointment. I will no longer go here. It’s sad because I went here for years and became a regular which they don’t care for I guess. I give it a 2 star because the only good thing I liked was the liners for the pedicure and Ann is my favorite.

My friend and I walked in and got both a manicure and a pedicure. We came in on a Monday, late morning. We were there for two and a half hours. We were both told that to get both, it would cost $ 38. It ended up costing more because services were added. I didn’t give permission for the services to be added to mine so the increase took me by suprise. That said, I was really happy with the result for both services, so next time I go I plan to be specific about how much I’m going to pay. Even a day later my feet are soft, etc. I recommend this place, just be super specific on what you expect to pay.

My girlfriend and I made appts together for mani and pedi at 2:30 this past Saturday. We had never been here before, but my friend scheduled here due to it being convenient for us both. We were only getting a mani/pedi, nothing major. The shop was super busy when we walked in, but we scheduled our appts days ahead. We were not greeted, just completely ignored. We had to let them know we had our appts, and they still just looked at us like we were bothering them. They did not even say have a seat, we’ll be right with you… nothing. While waiting we even tried to schedule somewhere else, but it was Saturday and hard to get another appt. Having to ask a third time when they were going to start our pedis, and having to tell them we WANTED to sit by each other, they used lukewarm water, the girl told me to put my feet in it very rudely, I told her it was cold, when I didn’t put my feet in the cold water she demanded I put my feet in the water! I told her not until it was warmer, and she warmed it up but not much. No one came to do my pedi, but my friend had hers done while I waited. Finally a guy came to do mine, he was very nice, but quick and I did not get a thorough pedi. After both our pedis were done we told them we had appts for manis but they did not listen, it literally was like talking to a wall. Many people came in and they started working on them and would go back and forth between clients, it was so overbooked. We left without any manis, horrible service, absolutely no one that worked there even talked to us. The pedis were awful, rushed and paint job not good. After they painted our toes they left to work on someone else and never came back. We had to wait just to pay! My friend and I tried to make the best of it due to she lives in Stansbury Park and drives all the way here so she can have some rare girl time. This place was awful.

This salon is, and has been the best salon in Utah. A few years ago I took my mom and my aunts here to treat them for her birthday. I’ve been coming to Top Tip Nails ever since! My family loved the whole staff! Everyone was so amazing and helpful. They were able to shape and design the nail exactly how everyone pictured.

I’ve been going to this shop for over 3 years. It seems for the past 6 months their quality has gone down. My nails(acrylic with gel top coat) don’t last as long as they use to. Within a week of having them done(which I get them really short) several break, snag, ect. I usually spend $ 40(with tip),& feel they should last at least 3 weeks. I think I’ll go elsewhere to spend my money. Sad thing is, I really love this shop. I guess it’s time to move on.

On April 9th I decided to stop in to Top Tip Nails for a manicure. I had been to this location a year or two ago for a pedicure and had a good experience. Their price for a manicure is $ 12, which is very reasonable, in my opinion. There was only one other person getting her nails done when I went in, and they were able to fit me right in. Immediately, though, I had someone else pressuring me to also get a pedicure even though I had only asked for a manicure. An older woman did my manicure, and after sitting there for several minutes with just a small fan with hardly any power drying my nails, she told me they were dry and I could get up. I let myself get talked into their pedicure, and three of my nails smudged while I was moving my coat and purse over to the pedicure area. The girl who did my pedicure fixed the nails for me, two on one hand, one on the other. The pedicure experience was mostly fine, but the nails took forever to dry. Again, all they used was a fan that didn’t really have any power behind it. I stayed longer so that I would be able to put my socks and shoes on before I left since it was a cold, windy day. By the time I got home and was pulling my keys out of my purse, the nail on my left had that my pedi girl had fixed was ruined. This is a manicure that I was told would last 2 weeks, and it didn’t even last twenty minutes! I was so mad, but I didn’t want to have to go back and have them fix it again since they seemed upset with me for smudging it before(keep in mind the lady had told me they were all the way dry and they obviously weren’t). The big toe on my left foot didn’t smudge, but the polish is not smooth. I’m hoping at least my toes will last longer than my fingers did. This was a huge waste of $ 35 plus tip. I won’t be going back, and wish I could get a refund.

Tip Top Nails is your typical neighborhood, Vietnamese run nail shop. Prices are reasonable, there are a variety of nail colors, manicure styles, etc. For those of you who like those funky, fake glitter nails, they do those. I think that glitter fake nails are hideous, but evidently, I’m like the only one in Utah who thinks stripper nails are unattractive. I like the gel manicure. No fake nails, just several layers of UV light cured nail lacquer, followed up by a hot stone massage of your hands and arms. Looks natural, and feels wonderful. Color lasts for about 3 weeks before it starts to chip or flake, and runs $ 25. The best part of Tip Top Nails is Uncle Jet, the store’s massage therapist. He is wonderful! He gives a wonderful chair massage that is about $ 1/per minute. He is trained in accupressure, and is very wise with health issues. Just talking to him, he actually gave me some really good, homeopathic advice for some health issues I was having. If I was rating Uncle Jet alone without the salon, I’d give him 5 stars. He’s not always there, so call ahead to find out when he’ll be at the salon.
