We had good(cheap) lobster rolls here, and good(cheap) ice cream. Nice picnic tables too. Perfect, quick, accessible place to stop if you are driving up route 1 in Maine.

Josh’s place is a favorite roadside shack of mine. They offer a range of really good deep fried food from wings to chicken burgers. They also offer a range of hamburgers. The star of their menu is their 2 for $ 15(as of 2015) lobster rolls. The rolls were all well toasted(we ordered 4), lined with lettuce, then loaded up with a fresh mix of lobster and mayo. The lobster was not polluted with celery or onion, just mayo and fresh lobster. Additionally the lobster and mayo was mixed moments before being loaded into the toasted bun. needless to say, it was awesome. For dessert they offer a variety of ice cream, which is also tasty. As far as roadside shacks go, I have to say I’ve never had anything bad at Joshy’s.

Joshy’s is a typical roadside take out stand offering burgers, ice cream, and seafood standards, Recently they have been offering two lobster rolls for $ 15. It’s ok but bit the best. Clam rolls are pretty good as well. On a recent visit, it was packed with locals and long-distance travelers.

Roadside shack with typical menu for area– lobster rolls for quite cheap. Amazing ice cream selection and good sundaes! Also has wifi for the traveller. Bathroom is an outhouse so plan accordingly…

My family & I were staying in Steuben Maine from Aug 10 – 16 and were lucky enough to only be a few miles from this place. We kept hearing about lobster rolls and that we had to try them so we stopped one afternoon. They had a special of 2 lobster rolls and fries. My daughter just wanted a bite of one to see what it was like. Her father never got it back! They were fresh and delicious and even the fries were really good. We ended up going back a few times. Wishing now we lived closer to Maine.

We spend two reasonably long vacations in Milbridge every year and Joshy’s is a place we often stop to eat, or at least get ice cream. Lobster rolls and the fish and chips are a favorite. Good value for the money.

We were there on opening day for the 2010 season and were impressed. Tooling down US1 in Maine in mid May doesn’t have a lot to pick from, so maybe we were impressed in relation to our expectations. Joshy’s is a walk-up/take out place with a couple of picnic tables in the shade beside the building. For a tiny take out place, I thought the menu was extensive. We had a bacon cheese burger that would rival the best in the fast food business(including the high price places like 5 Guys) and a Haddock«burger» that was better than most(even if it was just a little greasy). It was a lot to eat for the price and very tasty.

I had already downed 2 lobster rolls and some onion rings by the time I got to Joshy’s. I couldn’t do another lobster roll so soon. I opted for the crab roll. I was diappointed. There was lettuce– two big pieces from close to the stem of an iceberg head. The bun wasn’t grilled or buttered with much care. It was also served in something akin to a Big-Mac container. The price was fair enough, but it just wasn’t that good.
