Looking for a lobster roll in CT(not one of those gross Maine ones that is slathered in mayo). We tried two other places, but they were closed for the season. Seven seas is open year round. Pros: Free popcorn and candy Lobster roll was astounding(just lobster and a toasted bun). Amazing. Wife got the fried clams and we could only eat about half of them, the portion was so large. Cons: Parking is a real B%&^tch. Will be a $ 50 lunch.

Solid New England style seafood bar with a New York City attitude. Stopped by with a friend looking for fresh seafood at an affordable price(I’m a college student) and was pleasantly surprised when my plate arrived huge and full of food. I ordered fried clam strips which comes with coleslaw and fries. Being a New England native I have had some amazing seafood all over the region. This was right on par with some of the seafood inspired pubs up in Maine and Mass. It may be the best tasting seafood I’ve had in Connecticut; food was hot, crispy and tasted fresh. The clams are from Maryland, which was one of the only seafood dishes not locally sourced. I went with this option for affordability as it was the cheapest seafood plate offered. Nonetheless, I came in skeptical and walked out full and pleased. Awesome atmosphere and great place overall especially on a cold New England night!

This was my go to place for lobster rolls when I lived in New Haven. An order of lobster rolls includes a huge portion of hot, tender, buttery lobster(as it should be; I never understood the Maine lobster roll) bedded on an equally buttery, crispy bun. It also comes with sides of coleslaw and wedge fries. My girlfriend raved about the wedge fries for months following our first visit and I have to agree, they are pretty dang good. The dish is perfectly crafted as every component complements the others. The reason this place doesn’t get five stars is because it was filled with flies the first time I came(this was in the summer and I didn’t see any when I came back in the winter). Also, street parking around here is a huge pain and they have no lot. Every time I come here, I just end up parking in the nearby Bank of America parking lot and I’ve never run into any trouble(shh don’t tell anyone, internet).

A fun restaurant with a legit New England feel in downtown Milford. As noted by everybody else, the lobster roll is out of control — served hot on a toasted roll, you can’t beat it. A lot of the other items on their menu are delicious as well. Seating is limited so plan to come early or wait for a table.

You would never know what a Gem this place is until you walk in, get served, and eat. I was really quite surprised… I was alone and ordered a salad w/grilled Chicken and a side of Fries. The Salad was huge, and fresh. The Chicken was perfectly cooked and a large portion. The side of Fries were the big Beefsteak type and was enough for 2. Seemed to have a lot of Beers to choose inc. an extensive tap selection. I went w/the Sam Adams Winter… perfect pour and temperature. The girl behind the bar seemed to be covering the tables and bar and she was on top of everything, pleasant, and always smiling. When most towns/cities like Milford are being overwhelmed w/crap food franchises, I’m glad to see that establishments like the Seven Seas are hanging in there and doing well I might ad.

Fish and chips and lobster rolls. ‘Nuff said. We went here for a family lunch on our way through Connecticut and were VERY happy we stopped. If I could I’d give it 4 ½ stars… but I’ll round up now that I know what to order. First the fish and chips — ENORMOUS and the cod is fried perfectly. My son proclaimed it the best he’s ever had though I like my fish a bit ‘fish-ier’. Similarly, I thought the fries were very tasty — thick and potato-y with a crisp exterior — but my son who likes less potato in his fry disagreed. To each his own. Second the lobster roll — a whole lot of meat sauteed in butter and put on a roll. My wife adored it and thought it was the best lobster roll she ever had. I found the ‘twice-cooked’ lobster to be a bit tough and thought the butter overwhelmed the natural salty/sweet flavor of fresh lobster… but it was still really good. On the negative side, we all thought the coleslaw was a bit bizarre. Though it looked more or less normal it was somewhat flavorless and tasted mainly of mayonnaise and bell pepper. Basically coleslaw for people who don’t like cabbage. And the New England clam chowder is just OK. There was good clam flavor but the broth was oddly watery yet filled with suspended starch(potato? flour?). We found the service and pace of our meal to be excellent — though admittedly the restaurant was busy but not packed. As for décor it is pretty much old-time nautical dive-y.

Stopped in here for lunch. Service was quick and efficient. Tried both the lobster roll and the fish and chips. The fish was very lightly battered cod. Very flaky and tasty. Some of the best I’ve had. The quantity was three large pieces of cod. More than enough. The lobster roll was also excellent. Both came with fries. You won’t go wrong eating here.

Well hidden and slightly divey but good all around. Nice place to come to with 2 – 4 friends and have beers and order some battered fish and fries.

Excellent Tuna melt! Located in a nice town of Milford Ct. Service was good considering the bartender was also the waitress. She done really well too. We had the crab cake and bake clams. Excellent! Then the Tuna Melt and the Lobster Roll. Call me crazy but as loaded the lobster roll was and it was good, but no where as good as the Tuna Melt. But all-in-all excellent. Parking was a challenge but with a little patience or if you down mind walking it is not too bad. The overall look of the place look like it should look, rustic and homey. Oh the horse radish is to die for. The fries where really good and thick, crispy, but meaty with potatoes. A must have.

Big portions of mediocre food. Clam chowder was just passable. The fish and chips was a disgrace. The fish was old and almost inedible. Very disappointed!

Friday night. I wouldn’t suggest going here in the 6 o’clock hour with a party bigger than four. No. Seriously. We waited for an hour with four hungry children and three adults holding on to wisps of their sanity. BUT! It was worth the wait. It was my husband and children’s first time digging into a lobster roll. They were love struck. So glad it was here that we decided to go for something so iconic. We also ordered the fish sandwich, fish and chips, crab cakes and clam chowder, plus drinks. It came to $ 78. Between these three dishes, the soup, and cakes we fed our family of four with no problem. The portions are ungodly massive. Run 10 miles after and drink probiotics.

My hands down, absolute favorite seafood joint! Fish and chips are amazing and the portions are huge! I ususally have to split it with someone else, or take the rest to go! And the potato wedge? Heaven! The stuffed clams are my favorite and thats saying a lot since i am typically not a fan of clams! They are melt in your mouh delicious!!! And i cannot give enough praise to their lobster roll. Just heaven! Cant wait to come back!

Extremely slow and disorganized service. There were maybe 5 – 6 other tables seated while I was there with 3 servers and a hostess working. We ordered 2 soups to start: 15 min wait for that. Then we ordered an appetizer and entrees(specifically asked for the appetizers first). 25 min for the food to come out and the server brought everything at once. By the time we were done eating the apps, our entrees were cold. The server refilled our drinks once in the entire hour we were there. This seemed strange since she had no problem standing literally 5 feet away from our table and showing her cell phone to the other servers and laughing amongst each other while we made several attempts to get her attention. I’ve worked in restaurants most of my adult life and understand that restaurants get busy and service can be slow sometimes, but this place was empty and it was the longest wait for a meal I’ve had in a long time. The server was EXTREMELY slow and unprofessional. I do not recommend this dump to anyone. Unless you want to wait an hour for food that’s not even that good. Just go across the street for a real meal…

I had to download the app and create a Unilocal account for this. The service was spotty but I will attribute that to the fact that they only had one bartender at the bar on a busy night who was running orders to the kitchen. However I consider this a blunder on the owners part. They should not do this. I ordered the seafood combination because I wasn’t sure what I wanted on my first visit, and the bartender was too busy for me to ask her for advice. However, when I received my food although it looked huge, it was horrible. The clam strips were fast food quality and nothing but breading. The fish as someone stated earlier was soggy and incredibly sloppy. Disgusting. The scallops although huge were completely flavorless. And the shrimp was also, somehow, flavorless! When I complained to the bartender she responded in a rude manner. «We’ve been open for 50 years and people order this all the time. So that’s your personal preference and you ate everything.(I did not eat everything… I tried though but couldn’t stomach it). She was very rude and made sure to know I would be getting no refund(even though I told her that was not my intention).» Steer clear of this place. Maybe one day, a long time ago it was good. But if they can’t listen to their customers and respond in such a rude manner it’s not a place worth going to. Definitely DONOTGOFORANYTHINGOFFTHEFRIEDSEAFOOD”. I made the mistake of not thoroughly reading the reviews and I’ll never come back.

When is comes to New England seafood this place is classic. Just celebrated 50 years open this week which speaks for itself. My date got the huge lobster roll and I had a mushroom burger! Place is such a pub! Again so classic… And we shared wings ! Sooo yummy! The staff was very friendly and the portion size is totally generous. Nothing modern but everything done well! I bet pirates use to eat here back in the day.

We decided to check out Seven Seas after seeing it in the paper for its 50th anniversary! The food was delicious! I had the lobster roll with steak cut French fries and coleslaw. There was so much lobster meat on the warm bun! Which is rare to find. The lobster was delicious and super fresh. The bread was warm and toasted. My favorites I kind of wanted drawn butter to put on the lobster however it didn’t come with any… And by the time the waitress came back to check on us, half of the Lobster roll was gone so there was no point in asking for some. The fries were tasty. And I kind of hate coleslaw so I didn’t try any of it. This is a small place. Nothing too fancy. But definitely worth checking out. Thumbs up! No wonder they’ve been open for 50YEARS!!!

After my first visit I wasn’t sure how I felt about Seven Seas but after my second visit I know my future visits will only consist of liquid diets. The first lobster roll I had was here at Seven Seas and while at the time I thought it was the best ever, I quickly learned that it wasn’t. The rolls here are mediocre. Just a couple of days ago the lobster roll served to us looked like it was just the lobster fatty. The bread they use could also be bigger, this is the smallest roll I’ve had and the blandest as well. I also ordered a french onion soup which didn’t taste like anything. Well like water. It was also REALLY bland. I tried having more then three sips and couldn’t do it. I didn’t touch it. When I asked for the check and one of the girls came over, she asked me if I was done with it and I said yes because it had no flavor to it. They didn’t even remove it from my check. That was the test… and they failed. I wasn’t even offered something else on the menu. I really wanted to like this place but I just can’t fathom returning here for a bad meal. I was still hungry and walked across the street to a different place for lunch. So beware, you’re better off just drinking beer.
