Not the most glamorous place but they have the best food in Milford by far. Been going there since 1985.

Very good food !!! The staff was great and the food was served hot and quickly, my boyfriend and I dine at many Chinese places as we both enjoy Chinese food and I would have to say that this was one of the best we’ve ever tried !!!

I have been going to China Star for the better part of 15 or so years, as pretentious as it sounds, I’m very picky about where I get my Chinese food, growing up in a large city where you had many different ones to choose from, you learn to always go to the best or you’ll be let down, and though there are not many a Chinese place in the area, still, when its worth it, its worth it. Everytime i, or in many cases of take out, my mother, walk into China Star, we are happily greeted and recognized as the long time customers that we are, they re recognize us when we call, or when we come in they ask how we’ve been, if we haven’t been in for awhile they ask where we’ve been and are very friendly and fun, thats a customer/business relationship that you don’t get with most places, where you could be coming to them for years and no one ever gives you so much as a smile or a notice, it might not seem like a big deal to most, but that kind of kindness, that they remember who long term customers are shows they care then more about just getting your money, I’m old fashion that way I guess. As for the food, the food is some of the best Chinese in the area, sometimes afew things are hit or miss, but generally everything we order is incredibly good and well worth the drive from Peterborough to eat there or to stop off for it on the way home. I’ve never once had a bad meal there and I doubt I ever will.

Food is good, portions big, enough for two servings/meals. Love the crab rangoons.

China Star is looks like a pretty old school and divey Chinese restaurant from the outside. The inside of the restaurant is pretty cozy with a full service casual dining room(nice Chinese décor) and a lounge area with a bar counter in the back. The menu offers a pretty good selection of Chinese dishes including Hong Kong, Szechuan, and Mandarin cuisines. They also offer Pad Thai noodles too. The prices are pretty fair. 20 Luncheon Specials and 8 Big Platter Specials are offered here($ 5.95-$ 8.95, the prices recently went up). On my way back from the field, I stopped in at China Star for lunch and decided to get some takeout to bring back to the office. The place was pretty empty on a typical weekday. I ordered the L2: Vegetable Lo Mein, Pork Fried Rice, and Appetizer($ 5.95). The service was uneventful and prompt and the food was ready to go in about 10 minutes. Other than the fried rice(very dark in color) with minimal pork, the rest of the food tasted pretty good. The good portion of Vegetable Lo Mein had plenty of fresh vegetables, sprouts tossed in firm noodles. The 2 Chicken Teriyaki sticks, though slightly charred on the outside, were very tender and chewy inside with a sweet teriyaki taste outside. Not bad, though.
