The new menu is awesome. Will return for the wings

We’ve been coming here for about a year and this was our favorite, go-to bar/restaurant in Milford. Wonderful menu selection, eclectic environment, caramel corn, friendly service, and great location. This place was one of the reasons we moved to the area. We haven’t been there in a month or so and stopped by tonight for dinner. Wow. the place has really changed. The bar is 6 feet shorter, the eclectic feeling has been stripped out and the mannequins are gone. The beer taps have been severely curtailed and the menu much more limited. There is now a refrigerator case at the end of the bar that contains cupcakes. There is a smallish area where musicians can play the hightops have been replaced with tables. The place is more like a fu-fu restaurant and less like a bar. We had the chicken pot pie and it was ok, tasty, but nothing special. The Parmesan fries & burgers are gone. Most of the favorite appetizers & pub fare are gone. Prices seem to have increased and beers are $ 5−8/each. Good luck Clark’s Tavern — wish you well and hope it works out. We’ll miss you and thanks for the memories..

What a great little bar and grille! If you can look past the silly names of items on the menu, you’ll discover pretty decent food(far better than typical bar fare), a great selection of craft beers on tap, a good complimentary selection of imported and domestic bottled beer, comfortable seating(I personally recommend the leather sofa up front) AND, on the Friday night of our visit, a couple of extremely talented musicians named Geoff and Doug playing Mississippi and Delta-style Blues reminiscent of Sonny Terry & Brownie McGee, Robert Johnson and Lightnin’ Hopkins! This place ranks up there in the category of hidden gems! HIGHLYRECOMMENDED!

Went on a Sunday afternoon with my wife for lunch. Small and cozy atmosphere. There was only 2 other people in the place, which was fine with me. I had wings and Parmesan garlic fries, and my wife had soup. Both were very good. Small but nice beer selection. Looking forward to going back soon.

Been a while since I have been to Clark’s… Things have only gotten better! The menu is new and expanded with a bigger variety. Sue, the chef there is awesome… She custom made me a sandwich based on what she and and my wife thought I would like. Needless to say… I died and went to heaven! Clark’s Tavern should be a destination to go to!

Great place. Beer variety and quality is amazing. Food is better than expected. Prices for tap beers are not listed, and can be surprising at $ 9 a glass. Tabs can run up pretty quickly but are worth it.

This place has a knack to make the simple, regular food dishes exceptionally flavorful. No matter what you order here, you cannot go wrong. I especially loved Louisiana Rice and Lentil Soup when it was once offered on specials. I wish they add it to the menu. By the way, they always have specials. Be sure to check those out before you decide your order.

recent lunch visit… neat place, lot of wall junk and interesting old(not old) photos, good beer selection, not extensive, but different, fish and chips very good and loooooots of fries, grilled cheese with ham also very good and got the carmin(garlic) fries which were pretty yummy… nice place, pretty quiet on a saturday afternoon but worth return visits

Hung out here late last Saturday night with my wife and cousins. Great draft selection, adequate service, and nice live music – a singer-songwriter named Erin and her bongo accompanist. Good stuff. Clark’s has a dive bar feel, but with an eclectic(friendly) clientele. It’s a bit of the Land of Misfit toys here, and I like that. I could see this as our new date-night hangout. We have not tried the food yet, but that is next.

I love that Milford has all these great places to eat. I went here with my husband for lunch it was great. My husband has the grilled new westerly. And I had the Grilled Fletcher. Both sandwiches were great and were so large we took some home. We will be back, The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is great, dark like a tavern should be.

We stopped in for a burger one night just to give it a shot… after a few months it is now our favorite spot on the Milford Oval! The staff is super friendly(Malcolm and Sue!!) and you feel like you are at home. When Josh Logan playes you gotta check it out!

Ok, yes I am a fan of this tavern. I go here often, mainly because it is close to where I live. The food is good. The drinks are good. Taps are decent, but not many imports except for Guiness. The only problem I have had here is with the service. When its completely dead in there, you will get OK service by one of the waitresses if you are sitting at a table. BUT, if theres a few people, and nevermind when its packed. the service goes right down the tubes. I have had 2 seperate waitresses here, and they both seem like they are in la la land. There is no hustle at all to wait on you. So when you go here, I will tell you it is worth a trip. but, make sure you a lot of time!

I went here last night for a couple beers and had a great time. The bar has a nice layout with a mix of seats at the bar, some hightops and some booths. The atmosphere was very relaxed and nice. There was also live music when I was there as well. Now usually I’m not a fan of live music, but the guy was very careful not to be so loud that people couldn’t talk. He even came over on his break and asked how the volume level was. So I hope that is something that the bar continues to have its performers do. The selection of beers was pretty good for the area. The draft selection was pretty typical with the exception of the Woodstock brewery selection. I was glad to see it and that was what I was drinking. On bottle they had a good selection of beers inlcuding Pennichuck, Rogue & Dogfish. I did not try any food, but what I saw looked pretty good. So I’ll have to not have dinner before I go here next time so I can give it a try.

This is the type of place where you can seriously relax, and look forward to eating a great meal. Great bar help, terrific food, nice atmosphere, and the game on. The food was seriously better than I had any right to expect the food to be in a bar. Yummy sandwiches, and terrific wings. Fries are nice and crispy. The Ladies room was clean and pretty. They have an assortment of bodycare products, if you are so inclined.

11÷28÷11 The place changed hands since my early review, and has a new name etc., so I’m leaving my opening remarks, which only describe the physical appearance, and will going back for a new sampling… I’ll be reporting back soon. When I was in there, there was sign on the back wall that said«White Horse Tavern», which was a legendary place down the street. I had a flashback about it. I was in there one Sunday afternoon(maybe in 1980), and this local softball team, The«Milford Get Highs», were celebrating their 3rd in a row league championship. It was wild. They even had what they called a «victory circle», out in the rear parking lot. They formed a circle and passed around joints of high test pot. Amazing. They had a player cover the league for the local paper. He told me he was convinced that the«Highs» demonstrated that pot was actually physically performance enhancing, and this team proved it. His theory was that pot was infinitely safer than the legal hard drug alcohol, and therefore should be legal. I’ve never forgotten that, and the evidence I’ve seen over the years convinced me he was right.
