I live close to this location, but never go. I was here probably 3 years ago it was charged almost $ 7 for chocolate frappé. Prices are really high, ice cream is good. The food is typical steam hot dogs and fast food, nothing great. I don’t really see any reason to go here, Kimball’s is much better in Jaffrey.

Sitting at a picnic table in the shade eating Hayward’s Ice Cream on a hot summer day. Life doesn’t get much better.

Extremely expensive for what you get and the ice cream doesnt compete with other local stands. Use to go here a lot when I was a kid but the prices really went up over the years. I give it 2 stars and that’s pushing it.

These guys are pretty much the best in the area at any location. We ave a fondness for the Milford location as apparently it’s the oldest in the area. There’s rarely a line and when there is it moves fast. This is very important because the summer is hot and full of mosquitoes. They have a great selection of flavors, including a rotating specials board that changes seasonally. If you’re reading this near the end of summer early fall, gorge yourself on the Apple Pie ice cream and thank the dairy gods that you have the taste buds requisite for experiencing it. The best all season flavor they have is Chocolate Tsunami, which may be the second best chocolate ice cream out there. However, we’ve tried most at this point and have not been disappointed. The portions are enormous and over sized for the cup, but well worth the price. I will throw this Pro Tip out there though; if you’re buying two mediums of the same flavor share a hand packed pint, you get more and pay less. Thank me later. Oh, they apparently serve food as well. Hot dogs and such mostly. But seriously, you shouldn’t waste all that stomach space on a hot dog when there’s ice cream about.

Nice spot. Lots of parking and a grassy picnic area. Many flavors of ice cream along with other foods. Beware the small ice cream size is a giant portion. I would recommend the kiddie.

I really enjoy a nice Hayward’s Ice Cream treat, whether it’s a muggy 90 degrees in the summer heat or 9 degrees in the middle of a February winter, shivering with cold feet. I usually stop at the Hayward’s Ice Cream in South Nashua since it’s closer to my home. I also enjoy stopping at this bigger stand in Milford, just several yards away from Hayward’s Trading Post. Hayward’s Ice Cream has several outside windows and offers around 50 flavors of ice cream, frozen yogurt, and sherbet in cones and cups, sundaes, banana boats, frappes, floats, freezes, and ice cream sodas. Special seasonal ice cream flavors are offered including the Kancamangus, Apple Pie, Frozen Pudding, and my favorite PUMPKIN! The ice cream is creamy and full of bold flavors, on the the slightly sweeter side of taste. The ice cream sizes are kiddie($ 2.95), small($ 3.40), and large($ 4.20), prices in 2010. I usually get a small ice cream, which is definitely a lot of ice cream for myself to indulge! Hand packed pint and quart sizes are also available. Hayward’s also offers steamed hot dogs, meatball subs, and salad rolls too. The lobster salad roll($ 6) is made with a mixture of real lobster, imitation lobster salad mix, celery, and mayo. There’s ample parking and outside table seating in the spacious grassy area.
