This place is hopping! It’s early Friday night and the inflow of customers is non-stop. Apparently a huge favorite for take out. We came in for sit-down dinner. No waitress service. Order and pay at the counter and the food shows up. Fine with me as the service was fairly fast given the take out orders. Had the penne vodka and cavatelli & broccoli. Not bad at all! Not to many frills here but the food is really tasty. A keeper for sure.

I am so DONE with Joey’s, and here is why. I moved here about 2 years ago, and have been a very good customer of Joey’s. We went there, because the food isn’t bad, but they are the closest to my home, and they don’t deliver, so it’s a drive. About 95% of the time that I pick up an order to go, they mess something up!!! Forgetting to put dressing in the order, making a chef salad with one tiny piece of a cucumber, and 2 pieces of onions and a lot of iceburg lettuce. Twice, they left out the meat of the chefs salad, and gave me just a salad, at chef salad prices of course. Wrong things, forgotten things. always!!! I always try to check my order, but I usually get good size orders for all my family/friends, so it’s not always easy. A couple months ago, I ordered a chef salad. When I got there I stated.” It’s my fault, I did not ask for this, but my daughter likes iceberg lettuce, I like romaine. Do you think I could just have a couple pieces of romaine. The man,(owner, manager)? Said no. I said I would pay for it, it was my mistake, but I would really appreciate it, so I didn’t have to go to a grocery store. He told the cashier girl what to charge me and walked out back. He wanted to charge me about $ 5.00! When he came back, I said, why so much money for just a couple pieces of Romaine. He said he was charging me the price of a small salad. I was in a rush, paid a dollar less that he allowed, and realized that he only gave me ONE small thin piece of white/light green romaine leaf. You know, the worst part of the romaine lettuce. ONE piece. I only wanted like 3 regular sizes of Romaine, and for the price, he could have accommodated me. A couple days ago, I put in a nice order, a grilled chicken with mazzerella cheese w lettuce and onion, bread on the side.(which I still have in fridge, chicken not seasoned. my daughter hated it, and said it was terrible, broccoli bites, several slices of pizza, dessert, and an Italian sub… no tomatoes, mayo or vinegar, oil dressing, but 2 containers of their balsamic vinagarette on the side. Well, I didn’t eat the sub that night. Next afternoon, I opened the sub, to see they forgot the dressing, AGAIN, but was too busy to deal with it, but went into joeys yesterday. I was making up for the disgusting grilled chicken sandwich for my daughter, but I stopped by joeys to ask for thier dressing in a container to go. He said no. I said I would pay. He said no. I said, well can I just have 6 of those small containers on the side? He said ok, and was charging me .50 per container, which is fine for me, but because I was never given the 2 containers of dressing with my order 2 days before, can I have to containers and not be charged for them, as I already was, but never given to me. He asked if I called. I said no. I didn’t even open the sandwich until the next day, and was busy, but they know me. I’m in there often. I order the same thing ALL the time and ALWAYS order the dressing. When he said NO, I couldn’t believe it. I give them well over $ 100 or more a month and this is how they treat a good customer over 2 small containers? Lose a good customer for $ 1.00? For me, it was principle. I have complained about their screw ups many times, but kept going it of convenience. 2ce, they drove out of their delivery area because they messed up the orders so bad, we couldnt eat it. That was probably the only thing they ever did that was nice. It just amazes me how cheap this man, pizza place is to customers they know, even when I pay for them. When he said no to crediting me the 2 containers, I said, I was not surprised, especially for a man that charges about $ 4.00 for one tiny piece of romaine lettuce. He got angry, but I don’t care, because it’s the TRUTH! Unbelievable. So, I have been telling my story to everyone around town, and plan to continue to tell everyone, but the responses I get are surprising. The«locals» were telling me that they don’t go to Joeys, the tourists do, or people who need something convenient, but named a couple of other pizzerias that I should go to that are far superior to Joeys. I have heard many people saying how good the other Italian places were, and will be doing my very good business there instead. It’s not worth the«convenience» for another ½ mile to be treated so badly, and ripped off. I will be happy to be in a better Italian place that is not so cheap to paying customers, treat them better. I have never asked, or given anything from joeys for free!!! Heck, when I pay for it, I get ripped off by bad no meat or cucumber, onion chef salads, no dressing, and even forgotten or missing entrees! I always try to check, but hard when in a rush. If a pizzeria treats good customers this way… well, that’s not a pizzeria I want to go to, and I am happy to never go there again. Out of principle, not $ 1.00 he lost several customers. Oh, your employee told me about ur «homemade dressing. I’ll buy at the store instead. Lol, Bye, your loss!

Absolutely delicious. The crust was crispy and very good which can many times be a rarity among pizza places. Just a short stop off I-84

Love thier cheese steak with the works! My husband agrees… we live in a big city and the cheese steak here can rival any of the restaurants by us!

If I could give this place no stars I would but then I can’t review. This was some of the worst food I have ever eaten. This was worse then cafeteria food. $ 60.00 worth of pure garbage, in fact that is where all of the food ended up except for the antipasto salad, and the nerve of them to call that an antipasto salad with a bunch of American meats and cheeses folded up and thrown on top of some lettuce. The Italian sausage Parmesan sub was completely inedible the sausage was dry like wafers, there was no sauce on the sandwich at all, and the bread to meat ratio was about 5 to 1. The meatball Parmesan sandwich was a little bit better but both items were served absolutely cold and we pick them up at the time we were told. We also ordered two Italian subs one with lettuce tomato and onions and the other with everything and even that they completely screwed up. When they told me everything was complete I said let’s go through the order and wouldn’t you know as soon as we started to go through the order one of the items was still missing. Do not waste your time or your money at Joeys Pizza the worst food ever!

I’ve never paid for food and thrown it out in disgust while eating out. Then I went to Joey’s. My friend and gf did the same. This place use to be ok, I really don’t know what happened.

I am usually a purist when it comes to pizza and normally order the plain cheese pies, but this place really have great specialty pizzas. I found that they did not skimp on toppings. Their pizzas were really hearty and their dinners were delicious. I loved their sauce on the pasta. It was slightly sweet more on the tangy side and it had a very unique flavor which really hit the spot. There are literally 3 pizzerias in Milford and I really enjoyed Joey’s. I find that they do offer a large menu and besides their pizza their hot sandwiches and pasta dishes are«consistently» good.

Looking to continue our tradition for family pizza night in the Milford area. This was my first stop. I wanted a place that wasn’t table service. At Joeys you order at the counter and they will bring the pizza to you. Friendly service. Now the Pizza. Price was good. The crust had somewhat of a pastry crunch rather than that NYC chewyness. Lots of cheese. We had pepperoni topping. It was super greasy/oily. I would try a plain pie next time but needless to say, my search continues…

Great pizza! Great topping combinations. It’s either Joeys or CJs in town. Personally, I like both, but you should give each pizzeria a try. Italian entrees, good for families.

We were in town to visit friends and for the Music Festival, and decided to stop by for a bite to eat. I had the chicken parm grinder, and others had meatball grinders and a selection of pizza slices. The grinders were definitely the highlight. The rolls were fresh and delicious and the sauce sweet and tangy. The slices of pizza were less of a hit — they were left half-eaten. Overall, they were judged«fine». Staff was friendly and helpful, if not enthusiastic. The final judgement seems to be that Joey’s is a solid choice for italian food, but won’t wind up being your favorite spot. If you’re not sure what to get, favor the sandwiches over the pizza.

Sorry, Joey… I was up visiting family again after Christmas and even though we had been picking on food all day, we decided to get a pizza later that night. As I said in my other review… definitely not the best pizza I’ve ever had. The crust was pretty chewy and hard on the bottom, sauce was really sweet and the cheese was pretty flavorless. But still, not the worst pizza I’ve ever had, so it can keep 2 stars.

Food is average at best. Service is terrible. The girls that work there are lazy and would rather text then help the customer.

Coming from Long Island(I grew up on a place called Little Vincent’s near Smithtown, NY… best I’ve ever had), I regard Joey’s, Village Pizza, and Good Times as the best in the area, although Joey’s is the closest to NY pizza I can get. Their buffalo chicken pizza is a treat and their cheesesteaks are very, very good on account of the bread they bake. That said, the dining area is very hot, small, and unaccommodating. You’re better off taking out from Joey’s, but I do recommend it, save for the compact dining areas.

I enjoyed the Philly cheese steak today at Joeys, and i will definitely be back. My project manager has been jonesing for this guy for a while, so who was I turn it down. Nice soft onions and mushrooms, and the cheese melted in amongst the meat — but the kicker is the bread, almost a ciabatta roll with sesame seeds baked on the outside. Way better than your standard French roll. My PM also had a slice of the mushroom pizza, which was coated with good looking fresh mushrooms, and I had a slice of the buffalo chicken — which was good, but the chicken was breaded, and the breading got a little soggy as it sat on the pizza. interesting… not bad, not great, just in the middle. I want to try some more pizza and maybe a calzone, but this place is pushing four stars with me when you factor in the price — that cheese steak, two slices, and two drinks wasn’t $ 16. Sounds good to me.
