I can’t speak to the facility, but I ate duck from Maple Leaf Farms at the Market House Restaurant in Galena. It was superb, some of the best, juiciest grilled duck I’ve ever had.

My wife and I decided to cook a special New Year’s dinner. So we paid approximately $ 19.00 for a duck of 2.99 lbs. What a disappointment! We carefully prepared and cooked it according to the specified instructions. As we carved it, we noticed that there was little meat on it, but mostly fat. I realize that ducks have fat on them, but this duck was at least three-​quarters fat. I would be most reluctant to buy another Maple Leaf duck, and I will advise others to be equally wary. This duck was supposed to feed four. We were lucky — very lucky — to find meat sufficient for two. We were scammed, but won’t be again.
