this bakery is such a huge part of my childhood– my grandmother would go there every day to get fresh bread (portuguese rolls and corn bread). the prices are reasonable, and the smell is so welcoming.

A sandwich on some freshly baked Mazzarelli’s Italian or one of their fresh rolls is absolute heaven. No joke.
I grew up eating this bread, and eating it brings a sense of peace and pleasure.
As a side note:
For a while I was working in Acton, and there was a sub shop we’d go to for lunch sometimes. I was noting how awesome their bread was, and then one day saw the blue Mazzarelli’s truck delivering there. I wasn’t in the least bit surprised.
