We chose to stay at the ‘resort’ because it was the only place available below $ 100 per night — on a very short notice. «Resort» — Just like many other travelers complained, the first impression of the ‘cottage’ was not the best. The moment you enter the room — the mildewy, musky smell attacks your nose. Almost everything in the room had stains on it — it did not look clean or fresh — I just had to check for bedbugs — luckily — I didn’t find any! The mattress had some type of a soft foam on top, which made it impossible to sleep — we had to take if off. We survived a couple of nights and as much as we wanted to like the place(amazing location), we will not be returning. This resort has been in business for over 45 years and has a tremendous potential to be great again but it seems that the owners are stuck in the past; their priority is now the restaurant and not the resort. One keyword — RENOVATION.

So we needed a place that was close to the Delaware so we could go kayaking and make it a 2 night trip. I chose this please since it was close, food was included and the reviews said it was renovated. Well cabin 3 and 4 are NOT renovated. Not even close. Let’s start with the good: Food– The food was pretty good and was included with the price I paid($ 310 for 2 nights) Pool– They have a pool that no one used but it is clean Nice staff– The staff was nice and always ready to chit chat Fireplace-The gas fireplace is nice but it doesn’t shut off all the way. There is always a small flame visible. Now the bad. Where to start? Check in is in the restaurant which means you have to walk through the restaurant and around the tables where people are eating, to check in. This just seems wrong and out of place. When you’re in the restaurant you can’t help it but look at that corner. For the room-The minute we opened the door I knew we stepped into a nightmare. There was dust everywhere! The smell was strong and musty and stains on the bed cover, on the carpet, on the little bench cover. just ahhh! Stains everywhere! I hope they either wash everything or replace it. I think it’s time. For $ 105 a night I think they can afford to get new bed covers and matching lounge chairs(which we did not sit on). Or get rid of those rockers altogether. The bathroom was a sight to behold. We have been to Cove Haven a few times so we knew what to expect with the hearth shaped tubs but the carped that surrounded the tub and the rotting that was starting to show was just too much. We even saw an ant come out of the tub vents! The toiled had red stains on it. we can all guess what that stain is. The molding needs to be replaced, the shower head raised and replaced as well. My hubby is over 6 feet tall and he has to bend down to wash his hair. The sink was at an angle and looks like it will tilt over any day now. Needless to say, this rooms needs to be upgraded. Burn the cover, burn the carpet, learn to dust and vacuum and maybe, just a taught here, think whether you as an owner or maid would want to sleep in the room. I could have given this place a one but I’m not that rude. I know it’s an old establishment and the owner is older but perhaps it’s time for the kids or grandkids to take over and make some changes. I would have liked to see the updated rooms so I can compare but they were all taken.

My wife and I eat here often when we are in the area. We think the food is absolutely fabulous. The salad bar is always stocked with fresh vegetables and prepared salads. Always an interesting soup. My favorite at the pasta bar is the linguini and clam sauce — the best I have ever eaten! Unilocal has this restaurant listed as a buffet, but, most of the time it is a regular restaurant. My favorite entrée is their Chicken Marsala. Again, the best Marsala sauce I have had. In short, if you are in the Milford PA area and are looking for a great, nicely served Italian meal, you will be glad you gave Mt. Haven a try.

Upon arrival we were greeted and shown to the check-in desk where we met Andy. He was very gracious and detailed what our VIP plan included. We were seated for dinner in a very nice dining room(except for the paper covers on the tables) and live piano music. Our server was very cordial and explained the menu and pasta bar. We enjoyed the salad and pasta bar, except the clam chowder tasted like it was dumped straight from a Campbell’s soup can. We both got the Prime Rib. Mine was cooked perfectly and was delicious. The mashed potatoes were a bit dry. My wife’s was under-cooked but was edible. We enjoyed the homemade ice cream as well. We found our cottage and went in to find the bathroom floor«weak» in several places and it felt like we may fall through the floor at any time. The jacuzzi was antiquated and we ran out of hot water before it was to a point it could be used. The blinds on the main window were missing several slats so could not cover the window.(They need some curtains in the room). The bed was very uncomfortable and made our backs hurt. The couch would have been more comfortable to sleep on. Breakfast was terrible. The omelet and Belgian waffles were way over cooked and the potatoes appeared to be frozen and were cooked so hard I couldn’t eat. The place is way over-priced and should not be called a resort. I have stayed at better Days Inns.

Very delicious. Very good. Pizza is great, to done in and to take out. AMAZINGFRIES!!! No seriously, I mean AMAZING fries. Best I have EVER had. Crunchy and perfect. Wait staff is very nice and welcoming. Great place to bring the family. They have Christmas parties there which is very fun for the kids. Very nice proportions, I had left overs! They also have a salad bar which is nice, the only thing I would change is I wish they would add just a bit more to the salad bar but it is still good, maybe some cheeses?

Let me first state — the restaurant was good. However, it does not make up for the awful hotel experience. The room(one of the cabins) was smelly, damp, and awful. The mini fridge was leaking water onto the carpet and there was a moldy puddle. There were several windows broken, one screen ripped. The fireplace had left huge black, smoky streaks on the walls/ceilings. The tv was placed on a tiny, unsturdy table. Bugs in the room, spider webs all over. No internet. Horrible. ONLY decent thing was the food.

Been several times as I am a local. Dinner is decent, although I have always only gone for Saturday night Buffet or Sunday«Brunch». Sunday Brunch is another story. It should be called Sunday BREAKFAST. Consistently only breakfast items are available, NOTHING for lunch. Last time there, they had a NEW build your own ice cream sundae stand, set up right in the middle of the buffet. My granddaughter took a scoop and I took a half of a scoop. There was a sign on the side that did say, «Build your own Ice Cream Sundae, $ 4.95». I assumed that the price was for those that do not partake in the«brunch» buffet. The waitress began to YELL at me that ice cream was not included and she was going us $ 4.95 each! I said that since it right in the center of the buffet area, it should be CLEARLYMARKED. She than LOUDLYPROCLAIMED«there is a sign». As I quoted the sign above, the sign DOESNOTSTATE«Not included in buffet»! It is either a dumb move by Mt. Haven; OR a ploy to trick people into increasing their bill. Either way, clearly needs to retrain staff as to how to treat a customer. I will NOTRETURN!!! Kim A.

Usually have the pizza from this place but today I had restaurant quality food. The pasta bar was well stocked with various pastas and sauces for you to choose or if you are a nutter mix and match. I had the weekly special which was an espresso rubbed flat iron steak. Unfortunately by the time it came I was already close to full from bow ties and vodka sauce. The steak was perfectly cooked even though they forgot I didn’t want tobacco onions on mine. All in all would Def come back, I hear their buffets on Saturdays are amazing.

Wow… Wow! We stayed for 3 nights and I wish it was longer. We had a cottage and the VIP meal plan. The cottage was a nice size room, with an added bonus of an enclosed sun porch. The sun porch came in very handy as my wife used it for her art /scrap work. I never saw her so relaxed on a vacation. The food was the showcase of our stay. I would say some of the best food I have ever had. The chef is just amazing!!! All of it was fresh and cooked perfect. The stagf was very nice. We visited a few nearby falls and took a ton of pictures. What a hreat trip. I can’t wait to go again. Value+++++

So don’t try to call in for menu items or Specials of the day. After asking 5 times if they have a special and getting«well yeah we have weekly specials» as my answer. Asked the price and got«well our menus are great online…» Then ask me if I was alright because I was asking prices over the phone. Maybe I called there personal line(but they did answer Mt. Haven.) Don’t know if the person answering just didn’t have a clue, or just was being lazy. I would if rather had no one pic up the phone then have talked with the person that did answer. So I guess check there menu online instead of calling them, they apparently don’t have time to answer customers questions, or apparently the knowledge of there own menu and specials.

What can I say about Prime Rib night… a huge piece, plus all you can eat pasta, soup salad and bread with ice cream for desert… all for just $ 20! I had a bowl of penne with meat sauce followed by a bowl of linguini with Alfredo sauce, 2 bowls of the bean soup and then powered my way through the prime rib and topped it off with chocolate ice cream and chocolate syrup, OHYEA! We will be back. Oh…And the place was nice, clean and had great service too. It would of been 5 stars… they were soooo close… but I had rice pilaf on the side of my rib and it was just a bit dry… well…no…it was very dry… the rice that is… but everything else was spot on. All in all a great meal.

I have only been to their restaurant which has always been consistently good. They have so much to offer. They offer takeout and they cater their food which I have done many times for parties or just lazy days. Their pizza and pastas are really good. When I dine in I normally get their prime rib or porter house steak. Sometimes I deviate from that and get a seafood dish. One of my favorite experiences is their salad and pasta bar. They have pre-cooked pasta and you can add any sauces that they have available on that day. I love their bowtie pasta with alfredo sauce but I try to make it a little healthy ;-). I ask them to mix in some marinara sauce, crushed red pepper, fresh garlic and mushrooms. It always comes out delicious. Their food portions are quite large. You should definitely try this place if you are visiting Milford PA. The service is great. Its always a good time.

I’m only reviewing the restaurant here. This place is great! It’s a nice place, clean, lots of room for seating. I wasn’t very fond of the cheesy live music, though. It’s a higher end place that isn’t very expensive for the food you get. My sister got the buffet and we got the seafood feast which comes with a salad bar and is only available on Fridays and Saturdays. The buffet was 20 something bucks and wasn’t too amazing. They had casseroles and meats and fish. They have the salad bar and a table with desserts on it. The desserts looked nice but I didn’t try them because I didn’t get the buffet and my sister didn’t try them because she’s on a diet. She had the fruit they had to offer. They had chocolate to dip your fruit in, it’s not really a fountain, more like a pot. It was good. They also have pasta cooked to order which is part of the buffet. You tell them the type of pasta and the sauce you want and they make it for you. I think if you order any meal from this place you get the salad bar with it. You can also just order the pasta and salad bars as a meal. The seafood feast was amazing and there was a lot of food for the price you pay, which is 30 bucks. This was the reason we came here. You get a whole lobster, a dozen clams, a dozen mussels, and I think a dozen shrimp. If you were to go to a Red Lobster restaurant and get something similar to this, it would be sooooo expensive. I’m amazed at how cheap this place is. The shrimp comes first, they’re pretty good sized and come cold with cocktail sauce and they’re peel and eat. They were great! Once you’re done the shrimp they put the rest of the food on to cook because steaming seafood doesn’t take long at all and they don’t want it to get cold. The rest of the food comes on a platter and looks huge. I posted a photo on here if you want to see what you’ll get. In my opinion the mussels were slightly overcooked but the clams and the lobster were cooked perfect and tasted great! You get a little cup of soft serve ice cream once you’re done and they bring you cloth napkins to keep clean. Some of them are damp which was nice and helpful. Our waitress was great! Her name was Charmaine and she was really nice. She ended up charging my sister for just the salad and pasta bar instead of the full buffet because she didn’t eat much which was really nice of her. Overall, this place was great and we will surely be back again when we get a chance.

Mt. Haven’s buffets are really good. The Italian Buffet is my favorite. I love the pasta bar! The seafood buffet is good as well. The staff is very friendly. My family and I also attended the Thanksgiving Dinner last year. It was really good. The turkey was moist and delicious. More than enough to eat. I would recommend it to anyone. We will be going back this year too.

I can’t even begin to express my shear disgust with the resort. Checked in with my family to escape the cold after Hurricane Sandy devastated our area and left us without power for 5 days. The room was absolutely hideous, nothing like the pictures displayed on the web. Couches were covered with filthy slipcovers, jacuzzi was cracked and the room reeked of cigarette smoke. When I complained to the so called«manager» and asked for my money back, he said«he didn’t want to hear it» and chased me into the parking lot when I walked out in frustration. I went home(out $ 136) and slept in a cold dark house instead of staying at this seedy, classless dive.

Saturday evenings 4 — 9pm — Italian Feast Buffet, including salad and pasta bar, soup, dessert bar, coffee & drink — $ 21.95/pp Friday and Saturday evenings 4 — 9pm — Seafood Feast — including pasta & salad bar, coffee & drink — $ 21.95/pp(The seafood is not a buffet but do you get tons of seafood variety). Pasta & Salad Bar Only Buffet — $ 15.95/pp They also have a menu to choose apps/soup/entrees from as well. A nice scenic drive from the town of Milford. Plenty of parking. Recommend making reservations or eating after 7:30pm to avoid a long wait. They sell their pasta sauces by the quart. Wait staff is attentive and nice service. They have a full bar as well for cocktails/beer. Come here often with family, good for kids, anniversaries, parties, can serve a large group table(15+). I have never stayed at the resort so I cannot comment on the rooms and service.

Had a really nice Fri — Sunday stay at Mt Haven Resort with my girlfriend. We stayed in Townhouse 6 and had the food plan for breakfast/dinner. When we first came in, we checked in at the restaurant. Guy behind the desk was friendly and got us situated quickly. As far as the room goes, I knew from looking online the place was somewhat dated but I was actually pretty impressed when we came in. While much of the home was dated, it was kept impeccably clean and for the most part everything worked well. The only real issue we had was the shower wasn’t getting hot, which couldn’t really be fixed during our stay so that sucked but didn’t detract from the experience since the room had a jacuzzi tub that could have fit 4 people and it had plenty of steaming hot water ready to go. The food was good overall. Pasta and sauces were tasty, italian dinner buffet was good, as was the breakfast meal and the brunch buffet. No complaints there, except I felt like I didn’t want to eat for a week on the way home! The town of Milford itself is really nice, though small and everyone was friendly in the shops we visited. Considering what I wanted was a couple days of relaxation away from technology and stress, this was a fantastic stay. Definitely would like to come back again when it’s warmer and check out some of the local hiking trails.

I grew up in this area, and now being an NYC transplant, I go back and realize how good of a deal this is! Mt. Haven is definitely the best deal in town. I had the Chicken Marsala, which comes with vegetables and a side of your choice(rice, baked potato, or fries), PLUS coffee, ice cream, and unlimited salad bar AND pasta bar! All of the full dinners come with that(and range $ 18 – 25!) The chicken was really moist and well-flavored. Our server, Gina, was really attentive and sweet. I suggest mixing the marinara and alfredo sauces at the pasta bar(which has 5 – 6 shapes of pasta and 5 sauces.) The variety and value here is amazing!
