After visiting the Stratford location many times I was excited to visit this location since it was closer to my home. Unfortunately after 2 experiences here, I have to say the Stratford locale is vastly better. To sum it up briefly, Food was fair, service was the same. Food was luke warm by the time we got it. Tried to get a refill on my beer but couldn’t get the waitress. By the time she finally did come back around, all I wanted was the check.

Went here on a Sunday night for dinner. Fried calamari was lightly breaded and nice size order, very good. Ordered the clams casino pizza, it was heavy on garlic and served with clams in the shell on it! It was delicious!!! Others in our party had the lobster roll and prime rib sandwich, they liked both a lot but did not care for the ciabatta roll the lobster is served on. Pricing is reasonable and service was good. I will be going back and would recommend.

Following in he footsteps of the original Stratford he Milford location serves up the same incredible fresh seafood, pizza and oven meat sandwiches.(Try the prime rib sandwich on a homemade roll). The only thing lacking here is the service is a bit confused and slow compared to Stratford. But hen they have master Vic running Stratford which unless they can clone Vic at the other locations it won’t be the same! But Owners Andrew and Dan have son have a great thing going with chain. Food is top notch. Now it’s about operations!

We have eaten at the Stratford location many times, and decided to try this new location. It did not disappoint! The best lobster roll around, had it with their home made bread, a nice option. We sat outside and enjoyed the nice summer weather. Aside from the service being a little spotty the food was excellent. We will be back!

Sorry off the hook in Milford wont be back. Had my usual clams on half shell, not a special all week long much have changed at happy hour only Mon-Wednesday that’s okay they are still awsomeeeeeeeeeeeee anyway had a new peel and eat shrimp, something new 5.00 bucks awesome too. husband had a sandwich said it was great, it was on the really good ciabatta made bread I had the Grilled chicken Caesar salad. only complaint was okay wilted lettuce with brown around edges and no parmigiana shavings. pretty lame for the price. I always have the seafood on mescalin lettuce with the awesome dressing in Stratford. they didnt offer it in Milford. Will definitely go to Stratford again. I dont know no happy faces there humdrum attitude. see ya in Stratford Vic also since weren’t ordering drinks it seemed it went all down hill no water no bread and nobody around to ask for services we sat outside e

Service here was horrible, the wait for just a drink was about 20 minutes, and it wasn’t busy at all. My date ordered a clams casino pizza, the clams smelt so fishy, and the pizza was cold when it was finally brought to the table. I ordered the lobster roll, which was also cold. Not to menchan, there was hardly any meat, & the bread was incredibly sauggy. The food was way over salted too. The one in startford is a million times better. They can’t run a business in this place.

This place was horrible. I am not picky but the food was inedible. The lobster roll was too salty and had more bread than meat. The meat was undercooked and smelled bed. This place should not serve food.

Really bad. Worst fried shrimp ever. The«New England» clam chowder was yellow. Enough said. My brother-in-law had roast beef that was not roasted. I would call it raw beef. For some odd reason the lobster roll was drenched in salt. More salt then one would find in Long Island Sound. My father liked the cole slaw, so there’s that. The pizza was okay.

We had fish tacos(poor) linguine and white clam sauce(great) chicken parm dinner(average) New England clam chowder(average) steamers(excellent) server was very good and pleasant but when dinner was over we sat and sat had to go looking for her. Even then it took awhile to get credit card back so we could sign and go. At that time they were almost full. Won’t rush back.

We have been here twice so far, both times it was overall good. In the fall they had a $ 1 oyster happy hour deal which was amazing! The oysters were huge and fresh. I hope they bring it back soon! Last time the food was pretty good, nothing special. Pretty good beer selection on tap. Will definitely go back in the warmer weather to have some oysters and drinks on the patio!

Had lunch at the Milford location, service was good as was the food. Wanted cup of coffee after lunch and our waitress told us they don’t have coffee or tea! How is that possible??? They’re a restaurant! She said that many people request it, told her to buy a keurig!

Have been to other«off the Hook» in Stratford. Was visiting over the weekend and decided to try Milford location, did not get a good feeling. Did not look clean, very loud and cold. Waitress was very nice. My husband ordered fish & chips, fish okay but batter very mushy. He would not send back. I had special — blackened chicken quesadilla that was good, but way over salted, and that too was mushy, and not crispy like it should be. We will not go back. Needs some attention to detail and chef needs some immediate, basic cooking lessons!

I would give this no stars if I could. The service was horrible. Waited way too long for a table, when there was no wait. Sat ourselves, only to be spoke to rudely. Ended up just leaving. Did not even look at a menu.

Steamed mussels and blackened tuna sandwich were good. They were out of both steamers and little necks; however, which seemed odd for local raw bar. Also, the blackened scallops were good. Overall, it was pretty good for the cooked local seafood, but the raw bar was lacking. The only oysters available were«local», which I assume meant Blue Points. Nothing else available. I usually prefer oysters from Rhode Island or Massachusetts.

I’ve been to the Stratford location a ton so I decided to stop by the Milford location to check it out. I came in at an odd time so there were only 4 other customers in the location. The overall look and feel of the bar/restaurant is great. it is very cute with the bar taps mounted onto the back of a boat. :) The food — I only tried the buffalo wings and they were average at best. I would definitely come to try it out again when it was dinnertime or on a warm day to sit outside.

I have been to the Stratford location many times so I was glad to see this location open since it is closer to our house. My wife and I went on a Saturday afternoon, it was a nice day so we sat on patio. As we were sitting down there was a waiter who was thanking a table and walked passed us as he went inside. Knowing that he saw us we thought he would be back in a minute with menus. Nope. We waited and waited, first we were amused and we questioned ourselves whether he saw us but we saw he looked right at us. More time passed, now I was ready to leave, I was so incredulous I thought of staying just to see how long it was going to take before he came to the table. I walked inside, there were three tables that had not been cleared and he was sitting at the bar. This was a lost cause we left never to return again. We went to the Stratford location, had great service and enjoyed our meal.

To be fair, the shirts the staff wear do say something like, «Warm beer, ok food, & bad service». The beer is cold if you catch my drift. The menu is mainly seafood appetizers, sandwiches, and pizza; no real dinner options except a couple seafood platters. Good beer selection on tap. Came here on a Friday night for dinner and was seated in the very-packed smaller bar area which was deafening. For as many servers as there were, ours was inattentive. The food was inconsistent, but for $ 10 they give you almost two dozen littleneck steamers in a off-looking garlic-onion broth that is surprisingly very good, along with a couple bigger pieces of fresh-baked bread to sop it up. The blackened tuna sandwich was bland and dry for being cooked medium and the wasabi sauce is bland and hot as hell. Good fries. The chowder is thin, but pretty tasty. They claimed not to have normal butter to spread on the bread, but the bus boy found some. No coffee either. If you like a bar atmosphere at dinner, this is it.

I’ve been here twice. I’ve been to the Stratford location tons of times. I’ve been hearing the Milford location has issues with the staff and on my second visit I experienced it myself. It was possibly the worst service I’ve had in years. Since the service was just fine the first time I came here(we ate in the bar) I’m leaving a 3 star review. The service at the Stratford location is excellent. Vic does a great job making sure everyone is taken care of and the staff and bartenders are all very good. I’ve heard that they rotate some of the Stratford staff to Milford off and on but I haven’t recognized anyone yet. As just one example, our waiter disappeared for 20 minutes to watch TV with the Manager in one of the dining rooms(yes I could actually see them clicking through channels) while my glass was as dry as the Sahara. Someone else finally brought our food. We asked for more napkins(buffalo wings), more blue cheese and more drinks. Instead of bringingthem there was a search for our waiter who finally brought them 5 minutes later. Carrying the napkins I was going to use to wipe my mouth under his arm(yes in his armpit) was a great touch. On both visits the food was fine. The facility itself is very interesting with a decent sized patio, a decent sized bar and a decent sized dining room. Parking is a bit cramped but ok. the bar is nicely decorated with a faux boat stern set up to hold the taps and«exhasut pipes» that glow red and blow fog to simulate smoke when they press a button. At this location I’ve had a few of their pizzas and they are very good. I’ve had the wings and calamari as well. The corned beef sandwich was overpowered by the massive amount of bread. If you don’t want a ton of bread order the rye bread for your sandwich here. They have a decent beer selection and the seating and layout of the place is fine. I’m goingto stay away from this location for a couple months to let them get their staff trained but then I’ll be back. I might bring my own napkins just in case though! Seriously, if the Stratford location is too crowded for you but you like the food, try the Milford location. The food is just as good, the facility is vastly better and you might get lucky with better service than we had!

From the owners of Off The Hook in Stratford, they occupy the former Al dente pizza /pasta place at 128 Bridgeport Ave. in Milford. Cozy place with outdoor patio area that adds one more option for the lacking Devon area of Milford. Food was good — Sitting at the bar we had the french dip sandwich and a cajun fish sandwich. Not bad at all … Menu is a copy of the Stratford location with a few changes. Lots of craft beer selections and a full bar. Crowd is mixed with older, middle age and 20 somethings mixing easily. The place is drawing crowds already. Give it a shot for a change of pace.
