ROXANNE M GUSHIKEN OD was prompt, pleasant and professional. I was concerned about possible conjunctivitis and Dr Gushiken examined my eyes and assured me that, while I had had conjunctivitis, the worst was over and I would be fine. She recommended over-​the-​counter eye drops and my eyes were much improved. I was highly satisfied with my visit.

Wow! I was pleasantly surprised with my Kaiser visit today to see Dr. Roxanne Gushiken, O.D. My last eye exam was nearly two years ago with another Kaiser doctor. The comparison between the treatment I received today and last time was night and day.
To start out with, Dr. Gushiken called me into her office promptly at 10:30, the time of my appointment. She asked a few questions and then started with the exam. Granted, I probably knew more about my eyes and potential concerns than the average patient, but she answered all of my questions and ordered a few other tests (that were done immediately). She stuck around to view my results and demonstrated to me, her observations regarding my eyeball health!
My Mom had glaucoma so that was one of the tests, I also was told 5 years ago that I had early signs of macular degeneration (I’m currently 54) so she checked on that as well. I knew I had a raised nevus (small mole or freckle) on the iris of my eye but just learned of a newly discovered one on the back side of my eyeball. While there is no immediate concern for any of my issues, it was nice that she documented these images and results for comparison on future visits.
Thank you Dr. Gushiken, you should be very proud of your services. You are a true professional, very gracious and I look forward to seeing you next year!
