I have been a member for nearly 20 years, but, I rarely go in to any branch and do most banking online. I have a business account at another institution but since I was in the area I decided to stop there and get some change. I needed a bunch of ones so when the teller went to count the bills out I told her that it was ok, she didn’t need to count it out because I saw it come out of the machine. I thought I was being helpful. She said that it was policy to count it out which is fine. But, the way she said it was rude and she left my money kind of scattered on the counter then didn’t say have a nice day or anything and was dismissive. There were signs on the counter explaining «Casual Day» and how even though their attire was casual their service was still professional. Not really. I was a teller at American Savings and Bank of America when I was in college… that wasn’t professional service.

Their customer service is horrible! It seems as though you’re bothering them especially when they sigh at you! I will NEVER go back there again. I’ve been in customer service ALL my life and I wish I was a surveyor rating there service. Just horrible!

I have come to this branch a few times and everyone is just so nice and happy. I appreciate them being so helpful and friendly. Customer service is their specialty. Thank you for your good work!

I am not surprised with the bad reviews. Although I never go into the branch, their customer service reps over the phone and via email are merely pawns who do nothing but regurgitate policies and pass the buck. I don’t want to get into detail on the many attempts I’ve searched for solutions and received nothing but dead ends from the reps.
I hate giving two stars to a potentially great local credit union but I’ve had enough. Please empower your workers to do more for the members instead of having them make excuses.

My husband has been a credit union member for 20 years. We needed a personal loan so applied online and selected this mililani branch. David Peterson was assigned the application. We were told we should hear from the loan officer 24 – 48 hours after applying. 4 days later we hadn’t received a call, so I stopped into the bank to see what was up. David greeted me and immediately had an excuse as to why he just didn’t have the time to contact my husband but had planned on it. He needed a little extra info, to which I was able to provide. I was told a decision couldn’t be made at the time but we would hear from him within the next 2 days. By the end of the second day I phoned him only to find out he hadn’t done ANYTHING and he even asked me for ALL the same information I had already provided him with 2 days prior. I provided him with the info AGAIN and he assured me that I would hear from him the following day. Two days passed and he didn’t contact us. On the third day I phoned n left a message, to which he never responded and finally 2 days later I went into the branch AGAIN, only to have him phone while I was there to let my husband know they couldn’t provide the loan at this time. Whether a loan is approved or not, a loan officer should be more efficient and return calls and get people the info they request, and he promised in a timely manner. I felt very disrespected and precious time was wasted!

They’re incompetent persons employed in upper management… they screwed up my credit card account… I called about a dozen times trying to fix the problem and wrote several letters top the president and board of directors who never replied to my letters. They would not put communication in writing because they are ignorant and incompetent and did not want to leave evidence of their ignorance. They ruined my credit rating score. They got so big they forgot their credit union roots where we the depositors are the OWNERS. Go to bank of Hawaii or first Hawaiian bank. get good service and many locations.

Hawaii State FCU is the best bank I’ve ever been part of, the staff remembers your name at the drop of a hat and their financial advisors will never lead you astray.
Mr.Peterson is the advisor I usually go to but I’ve spoken to all of them about different things and they always try to make sure you leave happy.
This is also the place you should go to establish credit, they have great starter loans to get you moving on up in the world.
And best of all you don’t need to wait an eternity to get your debit card, they print them on site! 5 minutes and it’s sitting in your hand.

I love this credit union! The tellers are always so nice and they learn your name really quickly! Such a convenient location.

I go in every few weeks to cash in my paycheck. I know, I know I need to get direct deposit into my account, but I don’t mind coming here. Before the stores around it were filled, it used to pretty much be just this credit union. Now there’s Kumon, two vets, a dentist, etc. You get the picture. Now parking can be a doozy at times. However, there are many stalls to accommodate all the businesses. Depending on the times you come in, the wait isn’t too long. There are usually 2 – 3 tellers working at time and all of them are very friendly. The one thing I like about this place is that they have a Coinstar machine, and if you’re a member (which I am) it’s free. If you’re a non-​member they take 10% of your total, but hey, at least you didn’t have to count and roll the coins yourself!

This is one of those places where everybody knows your name. This location is close to home in Mililani Mauka. Quick and convenient. There’s never a long line. No waiting, unlike the Westridge location.
There’s a coin star machine inside for members that doesn’t charge for its use. Deposit directly into your account or cash it out. Better than going to a grocery store and feeding the machine and paying it to use. The kids love it because they can deposit into their accounts and watch their money grow.
Open on Saturdays till 2pm.
