A laid back simple bar. Plenty of cold beer options. Pool tables, TVs and friendly service. Easy to find, parking easy, everything easy. This is the bar that is featured on the cover of the Huey Lewis and the News album called Sports. Sit at the bar, have a Pabst Blue Ribbon and enjoy yourself.

Sticky floors. Some shady people here. When people suggest to meet here I either suggest another place to meet at or that I’ll catch them another night if they insist going here.

Likely being the only dive bar in Mill Valley, 2am club was high up on my list of things I wanted to do when visiting after seeing Scott Capurro at the Throckmorton Theater. I usually work Saturday nights so was very excited to have a night off and be able to go out and enjoy some drinks with some friends. We got to the bar probably close to around 10:15 — 10:30 at night on a Saturday. It was pretty busy, but not so busy that we were still able to get drinks quickly and find somewhere to sit without any issues. We ordered our drinks, found a table, and immediately started doing one of the most entertaining things you do at a bar you’ve never been to – people watch! It seemed like there were all kinds of people ranging from newly legal drinkers all the way to middle aged and older people. It was awesome to see such diversity and everyone having a good time. The atmosphere was very divey and welcoming which was definitely comforting and appreciated. They did have some pretty good sounding drink specials depending on the day of the week, but unfortunately nothing for Saturday nights. I ordered my go-to drink, a bulleit rye with ginger ale, which ran me about $ 7 a drink. Not a bad price at all! The bartender definitely hooked us up with decent pours and delicious tasting drinks. We did have a tiny issue after ordering a glass of Stella since they must have accidently had their tap hooked up to bud light or something like it. After tasting it and agreeing it wasn’t Stella, we told the bartender what had happened. He took a sip of the beer, and immediately agreed that it was definitely not Stella. He offered another beer similar to stella and replaced our drink with no issues at all. If i’m ever back in Mill Valley and looking to go out for a drink, you’ll definitely find me at 2am Club!

My grandfathers old stomping grounds. This place has been here in Mill Valley forever. From all stories I have heard about it, it has changed a bit over the years. However I still see it as a fun place to stop by every once in awhile for beer and pool! 14 beers on tap and free pool on weekdays at 5pm makes for fun times!

The Moscow mule was not in a copper mug. I didn’t really care for the bouncer’s beard either. Overall, the best dive in mill valley.

I used to walk by the 2AM Club as a kid and was fascinated by the locals yucking it up over smokes and beers. 35 years later it still has the same appeal. Dave and Amanda, the new owners, are awesome. Good beer and music selection. Also, they got hella flat screens so every game is on when you walk in(go A’s). Come here after work, after your softball game, when you fight with your spouse, or just to hide from your kids.

I think the 2am club is such a great neighborhood bar! I am in the wine business and have been to many neighborhood type establishments around the country and this is the best so far! My friend was able to get his favorite beer(not my favorite) Pabst Blue Ribbon beer, while I ordered a Cosmo(the best one I have ever had). What a great place, where everyone can be happy!

Came here once with some friends. Loud music, pool tables, beer, and a dive bar full of «Me» Valley’s finest! No complaints.

If you are into hangin with racist white dudes, that don’t like respectful people of any race, this is your place in mill valley. Some dude in a wounded warrior project shirt tried to start a fight because I was drinking with my best friend who is black. The bouncer tried to back up the racist. Total good old boys bar, full of douche bags with no class. Avoid this place like the plague people. I love a dive bar, but please people, this is California not Mississippi.

What can you say about a bar that is a true Mill Valley tradition. It is no, absolutely no difference than any other bar anywhere. Try the«Adiós, M______, F_______r». It is very sweet but will get you loaded. I live 4 blocks away and barely got home!

Three B’s: Bud, Bob Seger, and Billiards… and in the middle was B.S. It’s a ‘down to earth’ anything-goes crowd. The bathroom didn’t have a lock on the door(surprise!) and smelled like a Porto Potty. A buddy and I went on a weekday night and it was a complete sausage fest. There were about 35 people in the joint and 3 were women; one whom was pregnant and drinking a lowball of whiskey. Need I say more? If you like run down dive bars with LOTS of dudes, this is your place. 2 stars for the deuce, appropriately, and the second one only because it may suite someone else’s taste, just not mine. PS… Such kind police in the area… waiting for you, making sure you all get home safe. :)

To all the pussy’s(Mr. R & Francois) who gave this place 1 star, go back to Bier works and drown yourself in luke warm over priced Euro swag. This is old school Marin not new school«Me Valley». Love the deuce.

One of the only original Mill Valley businesses still in business. Huey Lewis and the News took their Sports album cover in the bar. Great selection of beer and a casual feel. Pool tables and big screen tvs for sports fans. Joes Taco Lounge next door if you get the munchies. A good mix of people too.

If I could rate zero star, I would. The guy in charge of getting people out before it closes is just an idiot. He’s grabbing people’s glass with violence, dropping what’s inside on people, and then get out of control when you ask him to calm down. The bar tender is a tool and leave things getting out of control. Just don’t go …

I’ll never step foot in here again! I will also do whatever I can to make sure this place doesn’t get frequented by anyone I know! 1. Bartender/Owner complete bitch! 2. Promotion girls were there doing here job, one of them gets her chest and ass grabbed by some loser, the weak ass«bouncer» does nothing! Tall, bald, muscle bound, tattooed asshole grabbed one of the girls, and his fat, idiot friend grabbed her ass! I’ll see you around boys! Watch yourselves…

I’m guessing this is the only dive bar in town since we always go here when I come to visit. But my friend hasn’t suggested anywhere else in MV to go to for drinks. But anyways it’s an okay dive bar with pool tables and video games. Wish they had a dart board then I’d give them the 4 stars. Each time I come there is one really cute brunette bartender and then another older cute brunette bartender. Both are really nice and are attentive even if there is a big crowd there. Watch out though seems like the Mill Valley police just sit out in front of this bar waiting to get the locals. There were like 4 parked near the place this past friday night.

When I go to the 2am, I go to have fun. The first staff I run into is Mike, who is always professional and has security on lock. The bartenders are friendly and ID everyone in the younger looking crowds. The pool tables are in good condition and there are always full chalk cones and plenty of chalk lying around. My favorite bar… ever.

We have driven by here many times and finally decided to try it this last vacation the week before July 4. While this is a dive bar, it offers much. What I like is that the locals hang here, and this means mostly over 30s. Yay! My bf and I were both happy with the tap selection. I ordered Lagunitas IPA which was fresh and delicious. BF was ecstatic when he saw they had Widmer Heffeweisen on tap. The only real drawback was that everytime he ordered a «Widmer» the bartender corrected him and said, «One Widmere,» turning it into a long«e.» Now then, I have always heard it pronounced«Widmer» and my English degree tells me it is NOT a long«e» but no biggy. My bf loved the place more than I did. I thought a lot of the men were rude and loud, but they were playing pool and I was watching. I could have moved. We met a couple of lifelong Mill Valley residents, and they were great, especially Bruce! We will most definitely return next time we are in Marin. Truly something you should try at least once to say you did.

A local favorite! The Duece is Mill Valley’s version of a dive bar — it’s really hard to leave here sober — the Blow Jobs are good. During the holidays, this becomes somewhat of a high school reunion — it can get pretty hilarious. Tip: if you park your car over night, get it early the next morning, before you’re ticketed or towed!

«Do you like Huey Lewis and the News?» «Their early work was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when Sports came out in ’83, I think they really came into their own, commercial and artistically.» ~ Patrick Bateman. The cover for«Sports» was shot here. Do you like to play pinball? They have a pretty cool«Dirty Harry» pinball machine… I sucked ass, but it was fun to play. Do you like jukeboxes? Yes, they have one. Do you like pool tables? Yes, they have a few of those too. Do you like TV? Yes, they have lots of those too. Flatscreens, in fact. Do you like dogs wandering about a bar? Yes? Too bad. They have lots of signs around the joint which read«NO Dogs or Bikes allowed». Me… I like dogs and hate bikers — you know the kind that think they own the road AND sidewalk too. Anyway, I was ever so pleased that the nice bartender let a pooch come in. I fell in love that day, and I think the dog liked me too. Oh, and the old man procured a 2 am shirt for me… Yes, I do like Huey Lewis and the News.
