Dr. Cynthia Steele is a true animal angel and we absolutely love her for her kind, compassionate treatment of our animals and of us. She is incredibly gentle, and takes her time with each patient and treats them as if they were her own.
When our beloved animals reach the end of their lives, Dr. Steele comes to them, lets them feel her love and she gently helps them slip away in our arms. It is a blessing to know her and we have much gratitude to her.
And she has a great sense of humor!
You can not ask for better.

I just had my first visit from Dr. Steele and Maureen this morning. I had the best experience. They loved my scaredy kitty Jack. :P I’m so appreciative that they both did their best to make sure he was comfortable. You can sense they genuinely cared and I love that nothing was rushed. The check-​up didn’t take too long and everything went smoothly. I don’t have too much experience with vets, but I can tell you that if you’re looking for one, definitely give Dr. Steele a call! Someone recommended Cynthia Steele to me and I could not be happier with her
care and treatment of our dog Cody Bear. She truly cares about your pet. From the beginning of just meeting me and seeing Cody she only had what was best for him at heart. He is a pure bred Havanese with major skin and allergy issues. It has been a long road finding the right treatment in the past. Dr. Steele and her assistant, Maureen, are a great team and they have the best manner in caring for you (the worried pet owner) and your sick pet. They listened and answered questions while staying very focused on the care and treatment of Cody. They are supportive and down to earth and very approachable and understanding. I am so grateful to have such an intelligent, competent and compassionate vet treat my wonderful dog. He
is emerging out of being very sick, thanks to their tender loving care and some good medicine. I had to write a review because she is so exceptional in every way. Dr. Steele is dedicated to getting Cody Bear to a manageable state and helping me keep him there. I am so grateful for this dedication and support! Dr. Steele treats from a pure place with all her heart and it shows! We are very blessed to have her and her assistant Maureen here in Marin County.

Cynthia and Maureen were terrific during one of the most difficult moments of my family’s lives. They supported us through the process and made it a bit easier. Allowing our pet to go at home surrounded by people who loved him and vets who cared made this journey easier for all of us. I recommend her highly.

What can I say, Dr. Steele and her Nurse/​Associate Maureen are incredible. With two purebred cats, who are afraid of their own shadow, Dr. Steele and her Nurse/​Associate Maureen were terrific with our 13 year old, who required an annual physical.
Dr. Steele provided a paw to paw examination of our boy, including blood workup and urinalysis. Her style is warm, friendly and has bedside manor better than my own M.D. :)
Bottom line: Dr. Steele and Maureen took the anxiety out of what would have been a very stressful situation if we would have to cart of cat to the vet.

I cannot express more fully my gratitude for Cynthia Steele’s service. Her commitment to people and pets — or pets and people — is profound. Case in point:
New Year’s day and our beloved best dog ever is ready to make the jump into the next life but she needs some help. It’s very sad, very serious — she deserves a clean, peaceful and beautiful exit. She’s earned it tenfold. But — it’s NYD and all the vets are closed — except for the emergency pet hospital half an hour away — in an uncomfortable car ride that would end in a clinical environment. Sterile and scary.
We wanted her to be able to pass with us at home — amongst her family in her familiar place, comfortable and as peaceful as she could be.
Not to mention the stress that having to make the ride with the whole family — and for the whole family — would create.
I called around — leveraged Google — nothing I could find was going to make this day what it should be for our dearest friend.
I was referred to Cynthia by the emergency vet center — among others. She was the only vet that gave the option to leave a voice mail on this day — and the only one that didn’t expressly say, «I’m closed on NYD.»
On the long chance she might be checking messages, I left one.
And she called me back!
She heard our story and said of course she’d come — she could be there at 3.
We were able to spend the interim with our friend, making her comfortable and being with and around her.
When Cynthia arrived she was a breath of fresh air — she took up as much space as she needed to and was ever so respectful, appropriate and professional.
She communicated what was necessary, she prepared us — she brought instant relief to our dog and then when we were ready, she gave our pet the push she needed to leave.
It was as good as it could possibly have been — and Cynthia made it possible.
On top of that, she gave us the time we needed to prepare our pet and to say goodbye. She then took her away for us and will deliver her for cremation and then will bring her ashes back to us.
Amazing.
And even more amazing, as this was a holiday, when we went out to her vehicle we noticed a dog in the car — and Cynthia introduced us to «Petunia» the dog, and Cynthia’s visiting sister! She’d been in the car the whole time and never once did Cynthia mention that there was someone waiting in the car — not a «Do you mind if my sister comes in from the cold» or even «my sister is waiting…»
Dr. Cynthia Steele was there for our pet and for us and to ensure that nothing got in the way of this most important event.
Again, I cannot express more fully what a blessing this was — what an amazing person Cynthia is — what an angel she really is here. Words of wisdom, plenty of love, hugs and such kindness. Amazing!
The world is a far better place.

As everyone else has commented, Dr. Steele is truly amazing. She exuded a love for animals when she walked in the door to help my cat move on. It was a painful process to come to the decision and see my little guy deteriorate as quickly as he did, but she brought me to a place of ease that I had made the right decisions and it was time to let go. I am extremely grateful that Dr. Steele was recommended to me and could be there for this very difficult experience.

Dr. Steele is the kindest vet. Her name was given to me by another veterinary office in the area. I called her on a Saturday needing advice & help with my 14 year old cat who had been suffering with diabetes and other issues that had come about with disease. Dr. Steele returned my call quickly and was at my house within an hour. I am new to the area and having never met her she treated me, my husband and my cat as if we had been with her forever. She was incredibly compassionate. She listened to our situation and feelings– and she explained to us what was happening with our cat. We knew in our hearts it was time to put our beloved cat to sleep and Dr. Steele did it with the utmost care and love for my animal. I would recommend Dr. Steele to everyone. She is wonderful.

Dr. Steele is the best! Words cannot explain how compassionate and loving she is with our two little family members. When we had to put our little Yorkie to sleep due to diabetes, we called Dr. Steele and she was there the same day to help him pass to the «Great puppy heaven in the sky». She thoroughly explained the procedure, sat with us for over an hour until the time finally came, comforting and consoling us until it was time to take him away. We knew he was in good hands and was returned home in a nice box with a brass plaque. Dr. Steele and Maureen are the best and will always care for our two little moppets, Annie and Buddy.

Cynthia and her assistant were just wonderful. We wanted our dog to be able to be euthanized at home in the back yard where he felt most comfortable. Called and they could come same day, and take his body with them for cremation. Reasonable price, quick response. And they came with hugs and compassion and were very kind and supportive. They talked us through the whole thing and were willing to take time with it and make sure that everyone was ready and comfortable before proceeding. We feel very grateful and would recommend them to anyone needing these services.

Dr Cynthia has always cared for me and my sister and is the only doctor we’ve seen!!! She is kind and loving and ALWAYS gives me treats. Her assistant Maureen is super cool too!!! Plus I love that she comes to my house. And my daddy says she even has reasonable rates.

Dr. Steele is amazing. We didn’t know her before she came to our house and our dog took to her right away. She was so supportive and kind and understanding. This was such a painful time. He was my soul dog. I’ve had to put other pets down but this was by far the hardest for me. She was patient, and caring and just perfect for our whole family. Just the kind of person you would want there for you by your side during this difficult time; like a long time trusted friend. She was everything we could have asked for at this time. I’d highly recommend her.

Dr. Steele is absolutely the most wonderful thing on earth.

I met Dr Steele because she was recommended by a good friend and my little furry wonder was so afraid to go to the vet. it made her condition worse to be checked out. So Dr Steele would come and check her out at my house.
Then as it got more toward the end I stayed
in contact and Dr Steele came out to help my most precious one ease into the Big Sleep. I have been around a lot of this in my life as I have had many animals and I have to say she did the whole thing better than any vet around. Right there at my house. There was no upset (beside my own of course). My sweetheart creature gently lifted into heaven– thank god for being able to help and not have her suffer.
Anyway– for something as horribly tough as this subject– I recommend her. Why put your animal through going into a vet office ?
I plan to keep her as my vet from now on. Also she can recommend specialists if you need them for bigger deals like surgery etc.

Dr. Cynthia Steele made what seemed an unbearable experience into something that was peaceful and at least tolerable.
We recently had to have a beloved pet euthanized. Our experience with Dr. Cynthia Steele was much more than a business transaction. With grace and a great deal of peace, she helped to guide us to and then through the moment where we lost a great friend.

Cynthia is amazing. She is so kind and warm hearted. She helped my kids put down their pet rat with such grace. She really focused on the kids and walked them through it. It was amazing to watch. It brought tears to my eyes. Not the fact that we were losing the rat, but how she was helping them to understand this inevitable part of life. She is one in a million.

Cynthia is wonderful. She came to our house on a Sunday to put our very sick dog to sleep. She was so gentle, empathetic and patient, which really put us all at ease. Cynthia gave our dog a pain killer on our lawn and let us hang out with her — pain-​free for the first time in weeks — as long as we wanted. When it was time, she gently did the deed and took our dog with her, when we were ready. We are so appreciative for the care she gave us in our moment of deep sadness.

Dr. Steele answered out email last night, called me that night and was here today to see my cat, Jorge. She and her partner are warm, gentle, funny, just a delight. Jorge purred the entire exam. That would never happen in a vet clinic. I am so glad to have her and her service available.

Our dog had a life threatening illness. Dr. Steele came to our house three times eachday to treat him. He iwas unable to move for over a month. He is once again very healthy.
Two years ago Dr. Steele came to our home help us put our elderly dog to sleep. She was so helpful and made a difficult situation easier to deal with.

Cynthia Steele, DDM – the wonderful vet from Adobe Animal Hospital – has left Adobe and established her own mobile vet practice called «Mill Valley Mobile Vet.» Joining her is Maureen (Moe) O’Hagen, who was the lead vet tech at Adobe for nearly 20 years.
My husband and I have known Cynthia and Moe since she treated our last two dogs (male golden retriever & female doberman) as puppies at Adobe nearly 12 years ago.
FYI: our home is 34 steps below our carport /​road in Mill Valley. Our golden retriever was 105lb (slim) & our doberman girl was 85lb.
We lost both of our babies in 2010; unfortunately, when we lost our golden in april, my husband and I had to carry him up the stairs and drive over to Adobe. That’s when we found out that Cynthia & Moe were gone. Thankfully, we were put in touch with Cynthia.
Two months later, when our 85-​lb doby girl suddenly became ill, Cynthia (and Moe) came to our home, diagnosed, treated and finally put our our girl to sleep — at our home — when her enlarged heart wasn’t strong enough to go on. Cynthia’s concern for our dog during this 10-​day stretch went beyond the pale: she continually checked on her during this time and personally took her up to Pet Emergency & Specialty Center of Marin (PETSCM) for x-​rays (with our knowledge) when she thought our girl’s condition had worsened.
The compassion and professionalism shown by Cynthia and Moe helped us immeasurably during that time. We were able to keep our girl in her familiar environment and without stress in her last days.
We now have a new golden retriever puppy (just shy of 4 months). Cynthia is his vet. She and Moe have come to our home for both the regular «baby» exams /​shots as well as a couple of visits (on weekends) to treat the unexpected!
