I purchased 3 jackets from them. Each one had a defect, which I didn’t know at the time of purchase. The problem had to do with the zipper which constantly gets stuck when zipping up or down. One of these jackets I purchased online, because the store instructed me to do so. I ended up paying 9% sales tax but also $ 17 for shipping. When I posted a review that they asked for I was told my review didn’t fit their criteria, so it wouldn’t be posted. Closing their store was the right thing to do, now they need to shut down their factory.

Just love the conservative plaid skirts that you can find here. Also, all of the wool is made in their own mills in the U.S.(although I noticed my Pendleton wool jacket was put together in Ecuador from U.S. wool). I subtracted one star, because these clothes are very expensive, and I have to wait until the sales to be able to afford to buy anything. The salesladies are very welcoming and helpful.

I grew up with Pendleton blankets on the bed, my father and grandfathers wore Pendleton shirts, we sold Pendleton in our family store so, yes, I am a longstanding fan. Call me crazy for picking the hottest October day in like 40 years to stop and shop but it was worth it. I found a gorgeous light wool jacket that will be perfect when I head to Minneapolis later this month. And, to counter the truly inappropriate and snarky remarks by others implying the people working here are gray-haired arrogant old biddies – you should be ashamed of yourselves! I have always been politely greeted, my questions are promptly answered and I’ve received nothing but attentive service.

I’ve figured out Unilocal’s problem. They don’t like anyone to give 5 stars. If you do, you’re relegated to the«Filtered» section as though you’re a paid shill. Well, I DO give Pendleton of Mill Valley 5STARS, but I can only show 4 in the rating lest it get filtered again. Here is my past review and I stand by it: I love Pendletons and have since I was a kid. My father always had a few, too. Always a great experience at this store. The ladies are always nice, helpful and smiling. I have purchased maybe 8 shirts here over the past several years, and they always make me feel comfortable, even if I’m just looking around, which I do often. If they don’t have what you want, they will get it for you in short order. I even bought a hat over their website once, didn’t like it, called them and they said to bring it in and they’d take it back! They are like the«See’s Candy Ladies», always nice!

Well… I’ll add my 2 cents here. I love Pendleton shirts and shirt jackets. These shirts have been a standard on the backs of my hard working and middle-class family and friends since I was a small boy wearing my Dads hand-me-downs. But, having said that, if your a young male today who did not pull up to the Strawberry Shopping center in a vehicle other than an über high-end luxury vehicle, the elderly/smug/worthless/insulting old ladies who stare smuggly down there noses at you will not even give you a reply to your questions should you attempt to ask. Having no help or tolerance of the elderly ladies, I tried to use a gift card to order online with Pendleton themselves, but had nothing but problems. I ordered a large size and needed a medium instead. Simple right? Pendleton treated me like I was a damn scammer or a cheat!!! They sent me back(3 weeks later I might add!)a reduced price gift card instead of the medium shirt jacket I asked for! I got zero customer service at the store and then zero help with the company itself! WTF happened to Pendleton??? Just a sad ending to a once great company with once great customer service. I’ll be spending the gift card ASAP so not to be screwed out of the $ 100 bucks that was a gift to me on Christmas.

On a rare trip up to the north bay I decided to stop by one of the area’s only Pendleton dealers and finally splurge on a blanket I had been eyeballing over the internet for a while. I may have gone in for just the blanket, but I nearly left with a pile of shirts, jackets, shackets, scarves and hats before remembering that I was already spending more money on a blanket than I had spent on an entire month’s rent in my college days. And really, how many pieces of heavy wool clothing can one man wear in a climate that has a temperature range that swings from«mild» all the way to «pleasant»? As far as this specific store, the service was great and they had a good selection of the entire Pendleton range(much more menswear than I was expecting), but it definitely had a Scottsdale vibe like Gil S. mentioned.

Nothing beats a nice Pendleton. But why do they have to ruin it with the frumpy wool sweaters, pants suits, scarves? No offense to the old ladies, you have to love them, but I was the only one in the store who was(i) male,(ii) employed, and(iii) under sixty. Seriously, it looked like a Scottsdale retirement home in there. Nevertheless, if you ask nicely and catch the right old timer, someone might remember that this is the once great company famous for supplying blankets under US government contract as treaty installment payments to the Tribes for stealing the continent. That when we gave them blankets at least we gave them good blankets. And that somewhere in the very back, behind the baby socks and golf club covers, they still keep a drawer full of the world’s most comforting blankets.
