Seaplane Adventures

Great time. It was our 20^th anniversary and I surprised my wife with the seaplane tour. We took the hour trip up the coast and then over San Francisco. We got great views and pictures of the Golden Gate, Alcatraz, and San Francisco. As a bonus we even got to see a wale swimming off the coast. Pilot/​Guide was knowledgeable and even had a since of humor. If you are visiting S/​F and have the money I highly recommend this.

hi im john. wayyy back in 1984 i took my g/​f on a tour w/​commodore seaplanes. it was fantastic. as we got above the marin headlands they popped a bottle of champagne (dont know if they still do) we flew over GG bridge and along the waterfront. very cool. we were married the next year and decided to get married in the plane over GG bridge!

Awesome adventure we had here with my fiancé. There was more people inside the plane so I asked if we could sit together with my fiancé and the pilot had to problem doing that. The pilot is just an awesome guy. He was funny and talked a lot. I enjoyed this trip. Definitely will come again

Absolutely the best San Francisco tourist attraction. Worth every penny. Take a friend with you for the 40 most memorable minutes you can spend in a light aircraft. I highly recommend Seaplane Adventures.

Surprised my boyfriend with the 30 minute trip for his birthday. Our pilot Paul was amazing. He let Michael sit up front with him since it was his birthday, and recommended which backseat window had the best views for me. Honestly every seat had an amazing view! It was a cloudless, fogless day so the city looked amazing. As a local, it was great to see places we go hiking or adventuring around from a new angle. Flew past Mt. Tam, Muir Woods and Beach, the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, everything! Only thing is we couldn’t fly over downtown towards AT&T park because there was a game, so I might have scheduled for a different day had I known. But it was still 100% worth it, would recommend it to anyone!

If you are thinking of booking a sea plane tour, do it! We had such a great time, it was an exhilarating experience. The pilot was friendly and knowledgeable, and made sure we were comfortable the whole time. We even asked him to take us back over the Golden Gate bridge for a second time, which he gladly did. We got engaged in the plane, and the pilot offered to take a picture of us with my phone. Loved every minute!

The front desk guy wasn’t very nice when I walked in to ask about their seaplane ops. Barely even looked up from his desk and said oh we’re really busy and wouldn’t answer any questions. So I just walked out.

The seaplane tour was my 30^th birthday gift from my boyfriend. He had planned it in advance and was super excited about it. Our flight was for 11:00 in the morning. We got there at 10:20 and the girl at the front desk told us they had forgotten about us! Fortunately there was a flight leaving at 10:45 so they decided to put us on that (it was also an upgrade to 30′ from the 20′ we had purchased– what a luck!). Boarding started at 10:30 and there starts the fun. «Because it was a full flight» they split us up. I had to flight in the back and my boyfriend in the front. We asked three times if we could sit together since it was my birthday and we wanted to share the experience and every time he said sorry, full flight. There’s certainly a chance the other passengers could have said no if he asked them to switch but he didn’t even bother. The ride was ok, it would be better if the weather was nice but with Carl the Fog always close by you never know how the weather will turn up. The sky was gray and it was drizzling at times. The tour itself was very tourist oriented with the classic jokes and no useful information about seaplanes or the city. I wouldn’t spend the money on it again, there are better and more affordable ways to enjoy the Bay.

This was a great tour. Company suggested waiting for the fog to lift and rescheduled our tour for later in the day (which meant shopping in Sausalito for us). Anna was very friendly and gave us tips on what to do while we waited :). Aaron was an excellent pilot and very knowledgable of the area. We flew Over vineyards, golden gate, bay bridge, Alcatraz and some of the old military areas.
We would recommend this tour to anyone at anytime!

For my 23^rd birthday, my amazing hubby booked this trip for the two of us and I can’t even begin to tell you what an exhilarating and breathtaking experience it is. You don’t really know how beautiful the bay really is unless you’re seeing it from the skies. You get the whole view from the Golden Gate Bridge, the Bay Bridge, the coastline, all the islands surrounding the bay, and so much more.
My hubby and I were picked up by the seaplane van so that made it really convenient. They picked us up at Pier 39 and came right on time. It was about another 30 minute drive to the actual place of business, but the driver (who we regrettably did not get the name of) was very entertaining and funny, so he made the hectic drive seem very short. Already, we were off to a good start.
Once there, the flying schedule was somewhat delayed by 20 minutes or so, but that was okay because it gave us a chance to relax (I was getting a little nervous) and to look at the other planes around the area. The pilot who flew us was Paul and he was really sweet – a very charismatic guy who definitely knew what he was doing.
The flying itself was very smooth. You would think that with such a tiny plane, it would be uncomfortable going up 2000 feet, but it wasn’t bothersome at all. There were some moments when my stomach would dip or it would get sort of stuffy inside, but those were all fleeting. The view is fantastic so your attention is too preoccupied to be worried about that. We loved hearing about the history of San Francisco and some really cool, fun facts. Paul even pointed out Robin William’s house to us! Totally awesome.
We had the 45 minute flight and that was the perfect amount of time. I can’t tell you enough how amazing this experience is. If you can get the chance to do this, DO IT. It’ll be a moment you’ll never forget.

I believe this sea plane ride is an exciting experience for tourists, however as a nearby resident it creates disruption in our daily activities. Especially when it is warm sunny days when I enjoy opening windows to get a little breeze, the noise created by taking off is deafening. Why can’t these trips begin at directly south toward city rather than taking off from the cove where many residents are affected. We know they can do this because during low tide they seem to manage taking off not using the cove.
We wish the pilots could be more courteous to the nearby residents.

An incredible experience and everyone who worked there was courteous, polite and professional. The gentleman who was our pilot (I forget his name unfortunately) made the experience even better.

They were great and helped me with my marriage proposal back in August. The tour was fantastic.
They were having technical difficulties the actual day that I schedule the tour for but they contacted me and offered me to re schedule at my convenience since I was just visiting and it went great. Really friendly staff.

Moved to the Bay Area 20 years ago and have been wanting to do this ever since I got here. So for my 50^th, I did it! Absolutely a fantastic experience. Don’t wait, do it now.

I had to love my ride in the seaplane. This is something I wanted to do since I visited San Francisco first back in the year 2000. We had visitors and we took them here and it was really great! I have to admit it was a little scary, but I actually ended up enjoying it. Fun fun fun!

Amazing views, super safe & comfortable, great guide, best way to see the city as a resident and a tourist.

My friends and I had a great time with our pilot Aaron who is a fountain of knowledge when it comes to the Bay Area! His amusing commentary guided us across the Golden Gate Bridge, Marin Headlands, Alcatraz and San Francisco itself.
If you’re debating between a helicopter tour or a seaplane tour then look at it like this… How often will you get a chance to fly on a seaplane compared to a chopper? Taking off and landing in Richardson Bay is an experience we’ll never forget. Just awesome!

We loved or seaplane ride! Even though there was thick fog, the pilot flew below it so we could see all the sights. The pilot was funny with his narrative detail about the landmarks we passed over. The reception desk staff were real friendly too. It was really fun to see the sights from the seaplane, even from a local’s perspective.

I highly recommend this flight for tourists and non-​tourists alike. My boyfriend called Seaplane Adventures on a lark when we noticed the weather was perfect outside for a bird’s eye view.
We flew over by Muir and could catch glimpses of marine life below us (apparently sometimes you can see whales). After Muir, we flew over the Bridge, around SF to AT&T park, and over all of the islands. Throughout the flight the pilot took time to point out not only tourist sites, but more modern points of interest, throwing in factoids about new skyscrapers, etc. I found it to be a good starting-​off point for more exploring around the city once we were back on the ground.
Finally, check with them when you book to be sure that you know the correct exit to take when coming from San Francisco. I used Google Maps, and my Über was using a Garmin GPS. Both systems incorrectly identified where Seaplane was located.
