Howard Brooks-Korn, DVM

Dr Brooks is great. … a little quirky for sure… but he is dedicated, fair, thorough and a great vet. The other folks in the clinic are also great, I trust them all implicitly with my two chihuahua-​terriers. If you want someone who will know and care about your pet — Dr Brooks is the vet for you.

We moved to Concord from San Bruno and still drive our animals across the bay to see our favorite vet. We aren’t filthy rich and doctor Brooks shows us how to take care of our animals ourselves.
We will continue to drive our cats across the bay for visits!

I have been in the animal industry for the better half of 20 yrs. When I worked for N.P.V.E.C I never met such a dedicated veterinarian. Calling all hours of the night to check on his clients condition along for test results. If you want a lifelong relationship with a knowledgeable respected veterinarian in his community then Dr. Howard Brooks-​Korn is for you!

Dr. Howard Brooks is one of the most compassionate professionals I’ve encountered in a lifetime of pet ownership. Our street fighter cat, Jack, nearly died of a bladder infection that only serious pathology and experience could have diagnosed. His assistants are both lovely and caring and Karen has treated Jack almost daily from the time he started having problems almost a month ago. Our family pet, cherished not only by my wife and I but also our two young children, was spared a certain, early death by Dr. Howard and his assistants. Our family will be eternally in debt for the kindness, love and patience he and his team showed both Jack (the street fighter) and our family. Thank you, Dr. Howard.

I have been bringing my pets to Dr. Brooks-​Korn for more than 10 years. Initially, I came to Capuchino Vet due to the proximity to my house. I continued to go there because of the high quality care. Dr. Brooks-​Korn is thorough and spends as much time as it takes to treat my animals. Pricey? I suppose, a little, but I only found out recently why he is so worth it. I recently rescued my second dog. The rescue organization had a deal with another vet (name withheld :). I took my new dog there, it was free and part of the donation I made to the rescue org. Why not? The new vet didn’t even touch my dog. He just read the report from pound that picked him up and scheduled him to come back the next day for several procedures under general anesthesia! I immediately canceled, took my new dog to Capuchino vet where Dr. Brooks-​Korm spent an hour, on the floor! with my new dog touching, listening, smelling (everything!). He then spent tons of time explaining house training, drawing pictures, providing information I didn’t even know I needed. That was one year ago and my dog has still not needed any procedure requiring general anesthesia.
No credit check was ever mentioned. I do not make a ton of money and even when my cats used to get beat up by raccoons, the prices were never more than I could afford.
If you want the best in quality for your pet, take them to Dr. Brooks-​Korn!

I have nothing but great things to say about this vet!
I have been taking my animals to him for over 20yrs.
He always let’s me know what the cost will be up front.
He gets down on the ground with your animal and gives them their check up.
I have to disagree 100% with Sandy L and Dixter D.
When I first met Doc it was a Friday night at 7 and luckily he was still there it was an emergency and he saw me even though the clinic was closed for the night. My cat and broke the ball off the hip and he put a cast on her and I did not pay a dime.
NO CREDIT CHECK!!! I went back in on Monday and he checked her the cost was not bad considering all he did.
Not to mention I love his staff Karen his vet tech and Carol the front office and Kristina are the best!

Would be 5 stars if he was closer to me.
My dog hates, despises, loathes the vet. He is also afraid of the vet. Dr. Korn knows this and is the only vet that my dog has ever been around that can somewhat put him at ease. He will sit on the floor with him and talk to him to try and make him more comfortable.
Mr. Korn never makes you feel rushed in your visits and my visits can take awhile with unknown allergies that 3 vets have never been able to establish the cause of my dog is always on an allergy medication of some sort and since I want to give him the least amount necessary of anything to keep him comfortable there are always questions and tweaking of meds involved in our visits.
Dr. Korn’s rates are also reasonable. This comes from experience dealing with vets in San Francisco and San Mateo as well.
Will definitely keep coming.

Dr. Brooks-​Korn is terrific veternarian. I have two maltese poodles and he cares for both of them. His staff is courteous and kind.

I adore Dr Brooks-​Korn! His work is very thorough and you can tell that he truly loves his animals. He also helped me work through the different options I had with my 15 year old cat’s developing hyperthyroidism.
